The Casino is about 9 miles from I-55 and would be a good overnight spot for RVers if it did not cost so much. We paid $50 with a Good Sam discount otherwise it would have been $55. It is a small park with FHU concrete sites with a laundry and bath house. The Casino is a small "riverboat" and is a smokers paradise. If you can boon-dock and put up with running trucks, stay for free in a nearby casino overflow lot. The drive through town to get to the Casino was just sad. Even the Walmart closed. Note: The RV park is on the Mississippi River side of the flood wall and it would probably be subject to flooding closures.

Location! Location! Location! We stayed here at the end of May during COVID. Thank you SD for keeping campgrounds open! No tent camping was allowed because the bathrooms and showers had to remain close. This is a quiet campground off of the main road and very close to Custer State Park which is where you will spend most of your time if you stay for more than a couple of days. There are other campgrounds in the area and if you enjoy the sound of trucks engine braking then stay at one of those. This park was so quiet and peaceful you could almost imagine the gulch filled with General Custer's tents. We had full hookups and the gravel site required minor leveling. We drive a small rig but this place is definitely big rig friendly. It is next to a public forest road and some campers simply drove their dirt bikes and side by sides from their site to the public lands next door. The park is also just a couple of miles from the town of Custer which will have everything you need. Some other reviews mention a cranky park owner. Frankly we were a little disappointed that we did not experience any of that. Friendly and helpful owners and staff were the norm for us.

This is the newest KOA we have ever stayed in. The sites are concrete, level, and not cramped. They had the pool and lazy river heat cranked up during our March stay. Basketball, pickle-ball, corn hole, etc are available. The live entertainment was pretty darn good and very popular. Nice camp store that also sells local craft beer. Very pet friendly. Resort located on the quiet and uncrowded end of Galveston Island and you are about 15 minutes from a gas station with a small grocery store. We had a pull thru site but I recommend a back end site on the west side for gorgeous, unobstructed sunsets. Solid 5 stars!

We stayed here one night one our way to the beach and were very impressed. On the way there we were called and told where to pickup our registration/info packet and directions to our site. This is one of the most beautifully landscaped parks we have stayed at. We had a mixture of trees at our site (most are like this) which was level gravel. My impression is that most sites are occupied by seasonal campers which consist of large newer rigs and both retirees and the working class. Their sites are beautifully decorated. The people were friendly. For those who like to party, this park is not for you. No public display of alcohol is allowed and no alcohol allowed off your site. This is a quiet park that caters more to couples with pets or with small kids who are easily entertained. We would stay again.

We just stayed overnight in February during the off season but I hope we can make it back in the summer. New pool, new site electrical pedestals and water spigots. New gravel on roads and sites. Site 46 is a long pull thru across from a fenced dog park and putt putt. We also had a satellite signal. Plenty of grass area in the back of the campground for dogs and kids to play. Playground next to the very large fishing pond (no license needed). Seasonal sites are all newer RV's with clean, well kept spots. Even though we were unable to check out all of the amenities (it's winter) the owners make it easy to give this a top rating.

We have been to Door County many times and this is our favorite area to stay in. The section of the campground for short term RV stays is new. Big rig friendly and easy to navigate roads and layout. The sites are spacious and only require minor side to side leveling. The pull thru sites have 2 sewer hookups. Almost every site in this section will be Starlink and satellite friendly. Huge mowed field for dogs to stretch out.
We stayed at the end of the 2023 season and the cable TV was not yet completed for the pull thru sites. The Wi-Fi was not good enough to stream even though the campground was only 1/3 full. I anticipate both of these issues will be completed by the 2024 season. I say this because the staff is outstanding. The manager/ (owner?) Cameron was very helpful and accommodating. Note: Campground has 3 entrances. Follow arrival instructions and use the northernmost entrance marked with 2 US flags . I attached a photo. The other 2 entrances are for seasonal campers and are not as big rig friendly.

We paid $78 a night for a FHU 50 amp site. Our level site had a sewer dump in the middle and at the back of the site. Very convenient. Resort located about 6 miles and 14 minutes from downtown. It includes a pool, a fitness room, mail center, and a very nice laundry room with good machines. Very helpful staff who are quick to respond to emails. You get a lot for your money but for us it was about the location, location, location. No cable for short term stays and the WiFi is weak at best. This COE park is a solid five stars if you are staying in a self contained RV. If not, read other reviews about the needed maintenance on bathhouses and camping shelters. If the money is not there to repair, not much staff can do. Otherwise, there is a reason that it consistently makes different "best campgrounds" lists. Spacious sites with privacy and gorgeous lake views. Outstanding and helpful staff. Many FHU sites that are clean and raked. Be warned that the loop with sites 44 to 80 are directly under the departure runway for the airport. It can get noisy during the day from very low flying, mostly private, single/ double engine aircraft with a few executive jets. Despite that, I highly recommend this park.

We paid $45 cash for a FHU pull thru site. We did not have to disconnect and had about 16 feet to spare while pulling a 34 foot trailer. We were able to get a Dish satellite signal. Free wifi was good enough to stream a HD movie while web surfing. It looks like over half the sites are full time residents and everyone we spoke to was nice. A lot of things for kids to do, fishing, playground, putt putt golf, etc. This is an older park in need of some TLC and upgrades. Note that this campground is behind a Loves Travel Stop and about 1/4 mile east of the I-40 interchange. We experienced A LOT of truck noise with only a 3 mph west wind. A strong west or north wind would make this campground unbearable IMHO. For us, it was perfect for an overnight stop and we would do it again weather permitting.

We could only stay one night but would have stayed a week if we could. With the falling leaves it was beautiful. The campground was shutting down in a week for the season and only had about a dozen campers. We stayed in the far back row in a spacious private spot which is not typical of a KOA campground. The whole back row was like that but some other sites looked close together. The wifi was outstanding even though the campground is heavily wooded. This is the perfect place to stay (besides the price) if exploring the west side of Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore.
