Perfect location! State of the art, new campground located approx 13 miles away from Acadia National Park and about 2 miles to Ellsworth (grocery, restaurants, WalMart, historic downtown).
During Peak season, it’s very important to note that the campsite cost comes with
4 full access passes (daily) for the fun park valued at $39 per person, per day. This is a family friendly campground geared towards family fun activities and has family friendly environment.
Each RV site has a fire ring, picnic table, water, sewer and electric hookups. Tent sites have water and electric hookups and are convenient to the bathhouse. The walk-in tent sites are flat, well shaded, close to your designated parking space and private.
The campground is well laid out with different sections from premium pull thru sites without trees or obstacles (great for satellite and Starlink) as well as wooded, more secluded back-in sites resembling a beautiful state or national park campground style. The grounds are impeccably maintained, surrounded by a pristine natural setting, but with every amenity imaginable.
Amenities: Fabulous clean bathrooms (7 private showers), laundry (4 washers/ 4 dryers), high-speed fiber optic WiFi, well-stocked campground store, dump station, propane available, cafe, ice cream, pavilion, rec room, golf cart rentals, off-leash dog park, Fun Zone including splash pad, mini-golf, rock climbing wall, water slides, ropes course (video on website shows course in action), zip line, water balloon wars, jump shot trampoline (this is all included in the camping cost) plus there is a brand new campers only pool exclusively for campground guests. The staff are professional and it’s clear that guest satisfaction and experience are the highest priority. We recommend this campground for all types of campers including families, couples, for a vacation destination, weekend warriors, home base to camp while exploring the National park or those just needing a great campground while passing through.

There are varying types of sites for different prices, but all have a fire ring and picnic table. This is probably the most kid friendly resort we’ve ever been to. It has gem mining, several awesome playgrounds, a ton of trails in very good condition, and the best pool ever. It’s heated and has a cave like slide for kiddos and adults, alike. We had a blast on it. Sites are full hookups but they have great showers and bathrooms. The staff was super friendly and worked hard.

Free dump and water with box for donations. Very easy to get in and out. Nice and clean! More importantly, there is a great little city park here with a few spots for camping. Check the reviews on Town Park Campground for more info. No Verizon service but you can connect to the park WiFi.

A few sites big enough for RV’s but mostly tent and van camping areas. Camp host was fantastic. Beautiful setting a clean park.

Call to check-in upon arrival.
Some road noise, some truck noise but overall a fairly quiet area. There’s a nice walking/biking path along the water. Casino is great. Grounds are beautiful. About 10 minutes from downtown. We’d stay there again when passing through the area for a night or two.

Just wow:-) The road in is not paved but in decent condition. About 10 minutes from Cañon City (the actual town) with everything you could need. This is a dry campground with no dump station or water, so come prepared. There are a couple sights in the south loop that can accommodate a 30 ft rig but I definitely don’t think anything bigger could fit in these sites. Can’t wait to come back!

This Bass Pro is right in between a Sam’s Club and a huge Outlet Mall. There is also a nice hotel with a great restaurant, literally right next to the parking lot. For a Friday night, it was pretty quiet, felt safe, well lit and little street noise. Easy stop.

Easy rest area to get in and out of that accommodates all sizes. There was another rig and a big rig truck the night we stayed but is far enough off the interstate to be quiet. Clean and felt safe.

This national park campground has been one of our favorites for 5 years running. We visited June 2023 and it’s still perfect. This campground can accommodate all camping styles including big rigs. Water, electric, picnic table, and fire ring at each site. Dump station on site. Ranger station on site. Fresh drinking water is available at the ranger station, also. Each site is fairly private! Even though this campground is located within the borders of The Acadia National Park, it’s far removed from the busy tourist areas. This campground is located on the Schoodic Peninsula, which is the quiet side of the national park, but just as beautiful. The island explorer bus is free and will pick you up right from the campground to drop off/pick up around the island for hiking/sightseeing. There is a nearby ferry that will take you across the bay to Bar Harbor for a few, if you don’t feel like making the hour drive. Everything you need, like restaurants, grocery, and firewood are all within a couple miles of the campground. Last but not least, be sure to make your reservations ahead of time as they do not allow same day reservations.
