This place has everything you need for an overnight. There are five good-sized pull-through sites for overnighters. Most of the rest of the campers seem to be full-timers. For $40 plus tax you get a level pull-through site with full hookups. They have a decent area with a path for dogs (not off-leash, just a good place to walk the dog).

The owner met us and gave us a business card with the wi-fi information on it. They are actively improving the property. The day we were there they were trying to get trees planted before the weather turned worse.

The campground is a small urban campground. it's in a neighborhood with a lot of mobile homes. The numbers on sites could be bigger. We knew we had the middle site so we could figure it out. It snow-rained on us the night we were there. Colorado in the springtime.

We camped with a group here. Our site was quite uneven. We never did get really level. Our neighbors said they tried leveling in their first site, gave up and tried three others before finding one that was better.

The price was right, and they had a small pool and fenced dog area. But the community room we used was dirty and had cockroaches. The owners were nice to us, but they gave some of our group members grief because they arrived too early (before 1 pm). The wifi never worked for us, and the sewer cap at our site (45) was broken. It smelled pretty bad before we hooked up.

If I needed a spot right off the highway for one night, and I could level my rig, this would do. But they need to spend some time on the existing campsites and not just focus on the expansion. Leveling the existing sites seems like common sense to me.

Felt more like a state park, except that sites were closer together. Level gravel sites, some fully shaded. We camped with a Winnebago group, and our group used the Texas House with full kitchen for our meeting and potlucks. Everywhere I looked, it was clean.

A younger family bought this place a year or two ago, and they've made updates. There's fresh paint on everything. There's a long, screened-in porch that overlooks the little pond. You can sit there while doing laundry. They have a few very rustic cabins. But no swimming. In fact, there's not much for kids to do in this campground. Great for walking your dog, though. We enjoyed it and will be back next year.

Nothing fancy, just a level gravel campsite with full hookups literally 10 minutes from the event we attended this weekend. Right off the highway but I never heard it. Nice fenced dog area and walking area, and both had poop bags and trash containers.

We didn't see the laundry or bathrooms -- we were away most of the time. But we got OTA TV, we had good cell coverage for Roku and computer, and all the hookups worked great. It was quiet at night. There's a few full-time residents, but they don't have that junky look. They are well-skirted trailers with tidy outdoor spaces. Our price reflects a discount.

Like most such campgrounds, the sites at Walt's are pull-throughs too close to their neighbors. Your picnic table is next to your neighbor's sewer and water. And it's near the highway. You can hear it, especially at night.

But all such off-the-highway campgrounds are like that. Walt's staff make the place a worthwhile stop. They are actively improving the place (they are newer owners). The sites are gravel and level. The camp store is pretty good. And there are meeting areas for camping clubs. That's why we were there.

It's not a destination campground, but Walt's is a solid choice for a day or two.

We got here on April 15, the day they turn the water on, and the day it goes from $20 a night to $25. That's a great price for 50 A and water with a dump and trash. The restrooms are not the worst I've seen, but there are no windows or airflow. We never use the facilities, so I can't say much about them.

Most of the spots are pull-throughs, but power posts and water are shared. Since we were using the 50 A outlet, the people who pulled in next to us had to use the 30 A. Our post said the site had wi-fi, but I saw no directions. I imagine you call the city. When we arrived the water was on in the bathhouse but not the campsites. I called and they fixed it within a few hours.

The "lake" is really a wide part in a small river. They have a dam at one end. People kayak and fish in it. But there are trains nearby, the kind that screech at each street crossing. Luckily there are few at night.

The worst part of our stay wasn't the campground's fault. We're camping in western Kansas in April. The wind has been relentless. Verizon was 6.5 mbs down 5.5 mbs up.

We stayed here with a group in mid-August. It has level pull-through sites with water, electric, a fire circle and a picnic table. There's a few 50-amp sites in the shade and at least one in the sun if you have satellite TV. There's far more 30-amp. But if you plan to camp in Kansas in August, and you have a 50-amp rig, try to get a site where all your air conditioners can work.

We didn't use the bathhouse, but it looked adequate. It was clean-ish (you'll definitely want shower shoes with those shower stall floors). But the campground itself was well maintained. And checkout on Sundays is 5 pm! We even saw a doe and fauns Sunday afternoon in the next row from us. Lawrence is a half-hour away, but still doable for a grocery store run. It's a nice balance of being close to town and still out in nature.

We stayed one night in 2017. We parked on a relatively level grass site with electric. There were shared water spigots nearby, and decent bathrooms. No sewer, but the folks next to us, who were there for a month visiting family, said there was a honey wagon service available.
