We like to cook outdoors and the grilling boxes are perfect for this. These Corps of Engineer campgrounds are much cleaner and better maintained than the state parks in Kansas. We were here several times in fall of 2018 with our class C, including Labor Day weekend and always experienced quiet, courteous neighbors.

We stayed here with a group in mid-August. It has level pull-through sites with water, electric, a fire circle and a picnic table. There's a few 50-amp sites in the shade and at least one in the sun if you have satellite TV. There's far more 30-amp. But if you plan to camp in Kansas in August, and you have a 50-amp rig, try to get a site where all your air conditioners can work.
We didn't use the bathhouse, but it looked adequate. It was clean-ish (you'll definitely want shower shoes with those shower stall floors). But the campground itself was well maintained. And checkout on Sundays is 5 pm! We even saw a doe and fauns Sunday afternoon in the next row from us. Lawrence is a half-hour away, but still doable for a grocery store run. It's a nice balance of being close to town and still out in nature.

It could be a great campground. However, it's clearly in a state of neglect. The bathrooms were in such bad shape, full of spiders, no evidence of any kind of cleaning effort. Our site was beautiful and private. It's a shame that it's in such a state.

Only about an hour from Kansas City. With my senior discount it’s only $12 per night for a water and electric site. Sites are comfortably spaced. Some have shade.

Great spot that is reasonable with both electric and water hookups. AMAZING frisbee golf course, with free disc rental. 30 min to Lawrence and grocery

Cedar ridge is the nicest for RV stays and is the quietest. The hosts keep a closer eye on the guests. No tents allowed in cedar ridge. No immediate water access or views. Paved pads. However across the way their is camp grounds walnut and hickory and they tend to draw rv, loads of pop ups, and tents. Parts have water access. That side tends to get more rowdy with drinking and is not closely watched. We have and will stay in both but tend to like the quieter cedar ridge for us as we are not just out weekending. All of the sites above have less bugs than state side. Their is beach access just down the road from all of these although we don’t tend to use it anymore due to geese poop. This side is further from any store so bring everything you need. No close access to town. We have a 37 foot bumper pull and you can find sites at any of the above camp grounds although cells service can be spotty.
Very open park-like setting with some small trees in the central area and taller trees around the perimeter. Water spigots at each site with electric. Large shower/bathroom building but small single person bathrooms are spread around the campground. Easy movement around roads. Easy back-ins and some pull-throughs. Mostly level. Some sites have a water view. Frisbee golf course, playground, basketball, volleyball, boat launch. About 20 minutes off of Rt 70.
The site was nothing special but was comfortable because there was only a site on one side.
We made and online reservation for a specific site. Never saw any staff while we were there overnight.
We stayed in site 52 in a campervan.

Quiet park. Water and electric only. Not good for overnight as it’s a bit away from the interstate but good for a few days rest. Hot showers and clean bathhouses. Level sites, lot of pull through sites
