Stayed here overnight on our way to Denver. Lucky to get one of the last spots. Lovely repurpose of the ole gin. Although we didn’t use the pool it looked very inviting. Grounds are well cared for & loved. We arrived after office hours but the information packet was very thorough. Bathhouse accommodated only 1 but it was spotless & roomy. Site was level. Hookups perfect although a little close. This is a winner.

We loved this campground. Gary was a great host & we really enjoyed his enthusiastic spirit. “Welcome to paradise!”
Site was level & hookups in good spot. We backed up to the forest & loved exploring the back property area. Paradise for sure.
Bathhouse with laundry was very nice & large. We loved being so centrally located yet a bit removed from the crowds. We will be back for sure!

Nothing fancy but there are full hookups although we didn't use the dump. However, it's FREE!!! Basically an asphalt lot but surrounded by green park. There is a nice baseball field directly across the street with huge lights. Probably wouldn't be a good idea to stay here when a game is scheduled. There were toilets in the main park area but unfortunately, some of the worst I've seen. Luckily, we didn't need them. Thanks you Tatum, NM!

Quiet, well spaced, campground with lots of green space. Large, even sites. Some pull throughs. Very clean bathrooms. No showers. No hookups but drinking water available. Excellent host that checked on everyone each morning & evening. Lots of trails & of course direct access to Sunset Lava fields & trails & a lovely scenic drive to Wupitaki. Visitor Centers at both with very helpful staff. Other than the generator use, it was very quiet.

We originally had different sites reserved for the 2 nights we were here. But able to change reservation the night before for 1 site that was open for both nights. So glad we did as it was on the outer loop. Sites 14-17 seem to have North rim views so hope to be able to get those at another time. Sites all paved but a bit uneven. No problem leveling with a couple blocks though. No hook ups but water available & dump station towards the front. Very clean bathrooms throughout camp. But camper services building (showers), toward the entrance was closed. ;-( Nice camp store with souvenirs, groceries, camping supplies & more. Did hear a couple generators but luckily, they were on the other side. Nice trails & access to lodge.

We stayed over at Desert View for 3 nights but wanted just 1 night closer to the South Rim PLUS a shower! Even though this is a huge campground, it was laid out well. Twisty, turning roads but all ok. Some sites closer than others but ours had plenty of space. Mostly even pull though. No hookups but water & dump available at entrance/exit (camper services area). We could hear the South Rim main entrance road but it wasn't too bad. Elk & Deer wandering through too! Showers were great but closed at 4p $2.50 for 5 minutes. Laundry also available. Easy access trails all around.

Well it IS the East rim of the Grand Canyon. Smaller campground that has length limits but we saw several larger RVs slowly maneuver through. However, it really made things tight. Overall, we loved it! The host, Alan was awesome! No hookups but the best spring fed water is available for your bottles. No filling RVs here. Our only complaint, which was a huge disappointment is the generators. Although only allowed 2 hrs in the morning & 2 hours in the evening, our neighbors put there's in the back of their site which placed it directly in ours. It was horrible! The noise & the fumes made this unacceptable. Alan was diligent about making sure they only ran it during the allowed times. But it just was horrible having that so close. Wish they would not allow them in such a small campground. Ruined everyone's experience. Although we didn't use the washrooms, there was 1 available. Site's a bit uneven but nothing bad. If it hadn't been for the generator. this would have been our best campground ever!

This was just a 1 night stop over. Very exposed but campground was good. No hookups but large pull thru sites with fire pits & tables. Nice view of lake. A bad storm came thru & the exposer was a bit of a concern. Luckily all was fine. If coming this was again we might try for the other CG below the damn. Believe they have shade & hookups. But for just 1 night it was good.

Our price reflect sour NPS lifetime pass (50%). Although I'd be happy paying full. This campground is spread-out overlooking the lake. Lots of nice ponderosa pines although looks like they are in the process of thinning for possible fire management. The host, Judy was awesome! She said any dead wood, on the ground is available. Never had this happen before. Since fire pits were well placed & in metal rings, we had a campfire which we stopped doing several years ago because of the risk. Felt safe here plus rain came in the 2nd day. Very clean pit toilets throughout. Water is available as well. No dumb but we found an RV park in Alpine that worked. Nightly elk bugling as well as a couple packs of coyotes. None in the campsite but they were down by the lake. Plenty of stars from our campsite & although it was remote, the road noise could be annoying at times. Not too bad, just not totally quiet. We look forward to returning.

We loved this CG for sure. First come & it did fill up each night. Unbelievable views. All sites level & pull thru. No hookups but water is available. Two bathrooms. No showers but each does have large sinks for dish washing. No hot water though. Lots of grassy area under large cottonwood trees. Right along the Belle Fourche River. Host came by each afternoon to invite us to the evening programs. And it was good to see the ranger talk with the folks that started up their extremely loud generator. They turned it off after thank goodness. This spot is a gem. We will definitely return.
