Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on May 05, 2023We didn't actually stay in the campground. We dry camped further west along the shoreline. The campsites Were clean and level and offered Electricity. We wanted to be closer to the water and chose to camp West for free. Park rules are posted at the entrance and tell you how far off the roads you can be to camp. Clean. Well Taken Care of-nearest gas and grocery store is about 25 minute drive East or West. Great location.

This was just a 1 night stop over. Very exposed but campground was good. No hookups but large pull thru sites with fire pits & tables. Nice view of lake. A bad storm came thru & the exposer was a bit of a concern. Luckily all was fine. If coming this was again we might try for the other CG below the damn. Believe they have shade & hookups. But for just 1 night it was good.

Stayed one night and unfortunately, it was a windy one. Check the forecast before you go. Campsites are well kept but very expsosed. Little privacy. Nice lake if you're a boater.

One night but okay since we have a CPW pass so only campground fees. Open and windy but wow what a sunset. Long bumpy gravel road to get to the spot gets it a 4

We stayed here mid week in May. There are over 100 sites but we only had 4 other campers in the park. There isn't any trees and being eastern Colorado the wind can be strong at times. But the day we were there the weather was perfect. There are plenty of places to wander if you want but not really any trails.
Since it is dry camping I would suspect that on a hot weekend, the sound of generators would be a real draw back. But when we were there, we really enjoyed the quiet. Cell phone coverage was great.
On thing to note, there is a dump station in the Hasty campground also in the park. It is large with 4 lanes but no water to wash your tanks.

No shade at all at the “Point” campground. Sites are reasonably spaced with fire ring and table. Nice view of the lake from perimeter sites. Be aware if you don’t have a Colorado State Park pass they charge an additional $9 for one day use in addition to the $20 camp fee bringing total to $29 for one night. Seems a bit steep for non electric no water etc. No military discount unless you are also Colorado resident. Depending on wind direction you may be treated to the perfume of area cattle feed lots. Will look elsewhere next time.

Large pull-through sites are easy access and well spaced, but as I had a whole branch of the point to myself, spacing wasn't an issue. The site was very clean and sunset was a show of fiery colors over the plains. Because of the water, mosquitoes were abundant but the wind helped keep them from biting much. Wildlife was abundant. I stopped overnight between visits to Sand Creek Massacre site and Bent's Old Fort, so can't speak to the fishing, but heard coyotes and foxes singing through the night and woke to meadowlark song.
