Waterton National Park must be Canada's best kept secret. If you are a hiker or paddler of any kind you will think you've died and gone to heaven. Vast well-maintained hiking trails and crystal clear lakes. Three nights was not nearly enough!

As for the campground: most sites are within 100 yd of the main lake. The beaches, trails, lakes and town are very dog friendly and you can walk to them all right from the campground. The showers are decent, and free and hot. The bathrooms are well maintained. The pitches are decently spaced, but there is very little vegetation so little privacy. But it gets very quiet at night.

A fantastic alternative to the very overcrowded Glacier National Park. I highly recommend the boat trip that leaves multiple times a day and heads up the lake towards Glacier. And the local ice cream shop which makes a delightful lavender lemonade ice cream (among many other flavors.)

Sani station on site.

If you like the shuttle option you might like it here. But it is crowded (even for a KOA), large, and for $80/night, I would like a cement pad. Constant highway noise. I needed to stop for the night--what can I say. Would not stay here again, I would rather be in a Wal Mart parking lot. On the positive side, the staff was very friendly and the store was well stocked. And the WIFI worked even at my spot which was a long way from the office.

Beautiful RV park with an indoor pool, open year-round. Unfortunately, like most RV parks, many of the sites are jammed together. If possible, try to find a map to their sites online and then request a specific site when you book. Otherwise you might not like where you end up.

Open all year, the drive in is snow packed (hence the three stars on access) but doable, full hookups at every site even through the winter. Extremely nice and helpful staff.

Great place to camp and go skiing.

Lovely provincial park campground along one of three lakes in the Champion Lakes area. The sites are well placed with lots of privacy due to all the trees. Most of them are very shaded.

I was almost all alone in a park of 90 spots, it was extremely quiet. Except for all the mosquitoes.

Flush toilets are clean, also pit toilets available throughout the campground.

Nice walk along the main lake but the trail to the other two lakes was quite marshy.

No Verizon / Rogers service for 10 km.

Rate includes reservation fees and taxes. Reserved online at BC parks.

It's a KOA so you always know what to expect. Easy on and off I-15. Has propane. Some spots have trees which would be nice in the summer. The pool looked like it needed some maintenance and I did not use the facilities. Good Wi-Fi even far from the office. Plenty of noise from I-15.

Five stars for an RV park--I am usually a campground person but had to stop here to ride out a storm. Office was closed but immediately answered a text which had me settled and checked in (via my phone and their website) in less than five minutes.

Laundry, full-hook up sites (even in winter) and beautiful, clean, warm bathrooms and showers. Excellent WIFI (at least from pitch 10.)

Price listed is with all taxes for a pull through, full hook up site (30 amp.)

One downside is the proximity to Highway 89 but that is also how I spotted them. :-)

Yes that price is true, it includes a resort fee and all the taxes.

This resort is a long way from Santa Barbara, 15 to 20 minutes by car on the 101. You can also hear the traffic on 101 almost constantly. If you can, get a pitch behind the pool it seems to have less traffic noise.

Great hiking up the Bill Wallace Trail which is adjacent, however the state beach across the street is closed due to all the storms.

Typical RV parking, their online map is true to what you see. I think number 805 is the best...

The pool is lovely, but the bathrooms need updating and a more thorough cleaning. The laundry room washers are filthy. By the way fellow campers, would you not wash your dog blankets in the washing machines? I, for one, would appreciate it!

Good wifi although they warn you it's not for anything except checking email, I was able to stream television shows.

Only occasional Verizon service. Texts can come in and out but no voice.

After driving through three packed FCFS recreation areas on my way south on 95, refusing to be crammed next to massive rigs half of which were running their generators (on an 80° day), I decided it was time for my plan B. (By the way, this was a Thursday early afternoon in early June.)

And what a treat! I was fortunate that they had a spot available--reservations are highly recommended. Beautiful, peaceful park with wonderful hosts and pitches right on the river. Clean shower room and laundry facilities. No sites have sewer but they have a dump site. Well stocked store.

Good Wi-Fi in site 30.

Price includes taxes.

As others have reported, this is a combination first come and reservation campground. I pulled in on a Monday late March and there were only five sites available. Excellent signage at the kiosk to let you know which sites are available and for how long.

I did not use the facilities, there is a dump site and water available. Nice little walk down to the river which was flowing this time of year. I did pop my head into the bathrooms and they have flush toilets and our spotlessly clean.

I had to walk to the front gate to have Verizon service.

Paved road in from the highway is nice, but the access inside the park is very rutted and on a gravel road. Could barely hear the freeway,.

Definitely will stop here again!

Sand Hollow SP has three campgrounds plus primitive camping. Westside CG does not have views of the reservoir but does have lots of space between pitches, full hook-ups and asphalt.

Sand Pit CG is more suited for groups and is on gravel.

Lakeside CG is lovely, on asphalt adjacent to the reservoir and with hook-ups. This would have been my choice had there been availability.

Good reservation system, be sure and use it. Good dump site at park exit. Must love OHV vehicles though, they are everywhere, including along the shoreline. Great rentals: OHVs, paddle-boards, kayaks on site.

Best hiking is nearby at Quail Creek State Park - a great campground without all the OHVs.
