Great site for one or two days stay one your way to something else. Facility was clean and great to have a swimming pool after a hot day. Only down side were the metered showers.

3.5 actually. It’s a nice RV park overall. People are nice. Just a good place to stop overnight if you need to.

Easy place to sleep for a night while traveling to another destination. Staff were friendly and bathroom was very clean. Site was basic but had good spacing between you and the next camper. Overall, I would stay again.

DO NOT STAY HERE! This place is ON THE FREEWAY! The showers are disgusting. The bathroom cleaning log was from 7 months ago! HORRIBLE FREEWAY NOISE AND SEWER SMELL. Luckily I only had to stay 1 night.

We got in late... real late. There was no way to appreciate the scenery. After popping up our insulated ice shelter tent (highly recommended) and firing the portable propane heater (necessity) we settled down for a comfortable sleep. November in Calico isn’t exactly tent weather, but there was 1 other set up when we arrived.

Beautiful views. The highway noise isn’t that bad. Morning walk was wonderful out into the desert. Nobody around for miles. The untouched mountains in the distance.

5 stars for spotless bathrooms. Could only find one working shower which we didn’t use, but it’s worth mentioning. It was metered. There’s plenty of wildlife for the dog to chase and he really enjoyed his time here.

$40 for a primitive site is most definitely on the high end of the spectrum and really felt that for this time of year, it should be discounted and incentivized. $30 would have been a deal, $25 would have been most appropriate.

The campground itself is nice and normal for a KOA. However, if you turn on the freeway ramp instead of the service road, like we did, and you come in from the opposite way on the service road, you’ll see an uncomfortable amount of abandoned shacks. The stay in the campground was nice though.
