As another reviewer commented, they will not let you in until 3:00, so don't bother driving up there until then There are plenty of day use areas along the Newport Coast that you can take advantage of if you're willing to pay the day use fee.
Saw no ants but dropped a star due to the dirt pitches. They're not even gravel, just dusty dirt which is really too bad.
Parking a normal car is almost impossible in Laguna Beach so don't plan on parking your RV down there for the day. :-)
I have a 16 ft trailer so I camped in the tent spaces which are much preferable to me as you have a lot more space. I have been here many times, this is one of my favorite places to camp. Beautiful views of the ocean.

Don't be discouraged when you pull off the road into the scene of long-term trailers. When you bear to the right toward the office, register with the friendly hosts and head toward the river, the scene is stunning.
It is an RV park, so the spaces are lined up, but they arrange them so you are not exactly side to side and there is a decent amount of space between the pitches. Book online and you can secure your exact pitch.
Lots of grass, and a small fenced dog run. Private showers which are well maintained.
Gorgeous stop for hiking and fishing and exploring the Three Sisters Wilderness particularly when forest service campgrounds are not yet open.

The RV Park is right on the highway--the address is misleading--the street referenced is just the entry to the RV park. Only good things were grass at the pitch and excellent WIFI but otherwise pretty awful. Road noise, tacky bathrooms, shoddy buildings, live-ins in beat up trailers. Really, keep driving.
