This spot was perfect for an overnight. I would only stay with an RV- Probably way to dusty for a tent. This has only 2 or 3 spots. We pulled in at 7 p.m. and got a spot. It is 1.5 hours from Capital Reef and we could get WIFI. A number of other spots we could not get a good connection.
We were the only ones there on a Tuesday night in April. The parks are full.

We arrived on the Friday of Labor Day weekend. Someone had just canceled. It is a great place. A bit hard to find. You can see if from I-90 but you drive about 7 miles on the back road. The freeway noise can be heard but for $25 a night it’s a super find.

The camping area is just off the Highway; could hear a bit of traffic even though it was a Sunday night in Mid May. The problem is the site signs are hard to find and only a few of the spots are level. Not good for a large RV. And the road after you are past the entrance has places on the road where you can bottom out.

We were here for an overnight. It was great. Beautiful big trees. Quiet. Nice bathrooms and shower house. Very clean. Not many people camping here. For our 22 ft motorhome, access on the steep winding road was no problem.

Walmart on the west side of town. Very noisy but fine for 1 night. Found a level spot. No one bothered us. Saw other RV’s so we didn’t bother to check with manager. Thank you Walmart. We bought $50 of merch.
The wahweep campground was full even on Easter Sunday. We arrived at this little sweet campground at 2:30 p.m. Practically across the road from the wahweap campground. We paid $7 because we have the senior pass.

Great spot for free. Pros: just off I-40 west; open. Cons:: trains go by every 30 minutes and some semi noise from freeway.
One sign says closed, but it is open.
All of the state parks were booked on the weekend. Thank Heavens we found this spot. You can see the highway from the RV Park. I don't know if you can hear the traffic as everyone was running their air conditioners. Very clean. Great for an overnight.

Take County Road 270 for 1.5 miles. From Yield sign, travel west (Forest rd. 272). We didn’t go as far as the trailhead. Took the first site we found. Very few people but it was a Monday in Olate September
