Stayed one night at the Walmart on 2nd street in Casper WY.
Signs were posted no overnight camping. We asked inside they said it was ok. Signs were posted because homeless were camping there long term. Park on the outer rim.
Stayed overnight 8/29/20. Confirmed with Walmart that they do allow overnight parking. Note - there are two Walmart SuperCenters in Casper and this is the one on the West end. Not as convenient off the interstate but definitely a better experience for us - larger parking lot located on top of hill and closer to residential areas.
They closed at 11PM but we called & also went in when we arrived, to verify it would be alright to overnight.
The manager said two nights would be acceptable otherwise the local police might say something.
The wind was nuts & we had to get off the road & were very happy to have a safe place for the night.
I felt safe at this Walmart Loc. Stayed at back right side. Not level location. Location is clean but very busy Walmart but store closes at 11pm.
About ten campers/RVs were there when we pulled up around midnight. Quietly pulled in and posted up for the night. The noise from the main road is pretty faint but people were pulling in and out of the lot all night, so was a little noisy. Walmart is not 24/7 — since we arrived after close we did not ask anyone permission, just saddled up alongside everyone else.
Important note: the other Walmart in Casper does not allow overnight parking. We called and they said it was the city’s regulations, however this one is also in Casper? Either way this one is on CY Ave. do not use the other one.
Parked around 5pm, detached, and headed across the street for Fuzzy’s tacos. Only one other tractor trailer in parking lot and one person sleeping in their car. Wasn’t too noisy. Left at 7am.
Walmart on the west side of town. Very noisy but fine for 1 night. Found a level spot. No one bothered us. Saw other RV’s so we didn’t bother to check with manager. Thank you Walmart. We bought $50 of merch.
There are “no overnight parking” signs, but we called and asked and they said they have campers all the time. Arrived at 9pm, got a few things from Walmart we needed and other campers and trucks started to come in around 10:30pm. I felt it was quiet for a Walmart parking lot but the store is open until 11. Left at 8am with no issues.
We stayed at Cy Walmart for one night. Walmart feels new, very large and clean. Parking lot is big clean. No road noise. Quiet night sleep. Highly recommend.
WTH is wrong with People ??? Walmart has long been the bastion of RV travel by providing a resourceful spot to overnight while traveling with you RV. <> But it is most unfortunate that KNUCKHEADS will be the cause of it's demise!
It is Common Knowledge and basic etiquette that you park your rig in an area usually designated by Store Management. This is generally on the perimeter of the parking, on one end or the other. Pretty easy to find because that is where the respectful folks will be parked. <> But look at the photos I included with this review.. a whole bunch of Knuckle-Heads are parked smack dab in the middle of the parking lot, taking up 6-12 spaces or more, meant for regular customers!!!
<> Yes, most of us will go inside and spend money, but that does not give anyone the right to be a Disrespectful Knucklehead and Ruin it for everyone else ! Get Right People, or loose the opportunity!
