My husband and I stayed here for a few nights during COVD to get away and practice social isolation while camping. No onsite check in - drive straight to our site which made things super easy. Lucky to get a spot right on the lake which I think is the best spot in the park. Large level pad with big living area right on the lake, only negative was no place for our hammock. People use this area to put in their kayaks so there was a fair amount of foot traffic during the day but that didn't bother us at all. Perfect site to people watch boats, kayaks and JetSkis. Very peaceful at night. The interior sites are closer together which could be an issue if you have noisy neighbors. Lots of trees for shade cover. We biked all along the trails to the other side of the lake and checked out the cabins which also looked very nice. We didn't have a kayak but this trip cemented our desire to get one. Bathrooms were kept fairly clean, didn't use the showers. The hosts really did a nice job keeping the sites clean and prepping for new visitors. Definitely come back here again for a getaway.

We’ve stayed in several TX parks but this one was by far the best. Very large paved sites with a ton of living space plus FHU! Lovely well maintained trails through the park and two nice bird blinds. Good info everywhere on the parks history and Mother Neff’s contribution to the TX state park system. They suffered serious flood damage several years ago and you can tell they put a lot of thought into rebuilding the campground. The bathrooms were the cleanest we’ve ever seen in a park. Camp hosts were diligent about cleaning the areas. Only 30 miles to Waco so perfect for a day trip to town.

Very quiet park CCC in the woods. Lots of hiking and biking trails directly from the campground. Several more mountain biking trails in the area. Sites are somewhat close together but still very quiet. The campground loop road is packed dirt and full of potholes. The dump station does leave something to be desired. No clean out hose and it’s tilted the wrong way so we had to get up on our Anderson levelers to dump properly. That being said, a nice quiet getaway with friendly staff.

Nice park on lake with many shady spots; wonderful host Gay and park ranger took one look at our 27 ft. Airstream and told us we might not fit in reserved spot (Loop 2, /#36) and to come back for another after we took a look. Sure enough it would have been tight so they set us with a better spot on loop 3 overlooking woods and lake. Loop 2 is really for smaller rigs and spots are tight - wouldn't recommend. Loops 3 and 4 have best sites with loop 4 offering sites on the lake. Only a couple down there with electric so they go quickly. Quiet park but super busy on weekends - lots of tent campers. Deer are everywhere and have no fear of humans or cars so be careful driving through park Most cleared out on Monday. Laundry was just OK; cold water only and only one washer working; $1.25/wash & $1 dry. Numerous well-marked trails in park; only a few for bicycles and they are super rocky; not for a novice rider.
Osage Beach is nearby for any stores/supplies you need. We put our WIFI booster outside and did get enough to stream but there is no service down on lake.

Two nights here on a nice big grassy site. Unlevel front to back but we made it work. Hiked to Irish Rock for lunch, pretty spot on the river. Electric kept going off at our site and while maintenance did come out it wasn’t resolved. Pretty quiet at night despite being full.

Only stayed one night but such a pretty park. Camp host Connie met us at the entrance and escorted us to our site. Gave us all the park and local info. Most sites are huge and well maintained. We were level so didn’t need to unhitch. Very clean bathrooms. A couple short trails out of campground for a morning hike. Very peaceful, Definitely recommend if you need a stopover while traveling on I-10.

We came here after nearby Twiltley Branch COE closed for tree removal. As others have noted, the park is truly beautiful. Very quiet and peaceful on the lake. The sites in the "new" campground have FHU although I think the statue of limitations on "new" has run its course. The pads are cracked and uneven, very narrow and leave no room for error. No living area near RV. Bathrooms were dirty and didn't show evidence of being cleaned at any point. Very sad to see trash in the park, campsites and the lake. To be fair, it rained the entire time we were there so the campground was full of puddles and mud but the geese seemed to enjoy that. This could be a really special place if they did some interior road improvements and updates.

Very nice quiet park. Narrow windy roads approaching the park and inside the campground but doable.
Sites are very well maintained with several pull through options.
Water pressure wasn’t great but other than that no complaints. Access to nice trails right from the campground

Very quiet park, given all the water access and activities and I can that it would be popular in the summer months. Narrow windy roads approaching the park and inside the campground but doable.
Sites 1-20 have better a road, 21-37 roadway is really bad but most of those are tent sites.
Our site was pretty unlevel side to side and a major grade front to back, but we were able to level just fine. Nice view of the lake (albeit lower water levels in the winter). Walking trail to The Point, beach area and boat ramp, is directly from the campground.
Very nice camp host. Bathrooms were new and very clean.
Easy access to Blue Ridge and the surrounding areas.

We came here last minute, altering our route due to some bad weather in northern GA. We have camped on this lake before at Cottonhill COE and love that park so we had high hopes here. We weren't disappointed. Check in was easy, super friendly hosts at entrance. I think we were on the best loop, River Chase Loop, Only drawback was no easy access for a kayak. The other loops closer to the marina were much busier. Other than that, just lovely. We backed up right on to the lake with full 180 views. Site was very level and spacious with nobody directly next to us. (The sites next to us were buddy sites so they stayed empty the entire time). Bathrooms were old but kept clean. We had perfect weather that allowed us to relax and catch up on cleaning and laundry. We didn't have our kayak but will bring it next time for sure. Not many trails but frankly most people come here for the water activities.
We went to Omaha Brewing Saturday night and they have a great selection of yummy craft beers. No masks or social distancing in sight so we stayed outside and enjoyed watching the local lids run around. Closest grocery is about 10 miles away.
