We bought the Texas State Park pass so chose this park to be close to an event in Waco.
Mother Neff is the oldest Texas State Park - and the original campground was flooded out some years back. That whole section of the park remains closed, although the road will take you by the biggest log jam you'll ever see (and still there after 3 years because they couldn't decide which government agency was responsible - although it sounds like the state has now allocated funds for removing it).
Campground aside, while the park has some short hiking trails, a few natural attractions and some historic CCC structures we wouldn't recommend coming here to "reconnect with nature" per se'.
The attraction for fulltime RVers here is an all-new campground with large cement sites, full hookups, a new bathhouse with endless hot water, good cell coverage, and friendly hosts.
There is a bit of road periodic road noise, and there is a SpaceX testing facility close enough that you will hear rockets being tested - but we thought that was kinda cool.
We recharged our introverted sides here - after some busy social times down in Austin/San Antonio. For that the park was perfect.

We spent two nights and 3 days camped at Mother Neff SP. This is the first Texas State Park and has a lot of history. Thanks to the recent remodel of the main gate and camping loop this is now a terrific place to spend a couple of days hiking and relaxing.
A flood pretty well destroyed the river bottom day use area and this has yet to be rebuilt. A lot of attention has been placed on the works done by the CCC and the historical implications this organization had on the Texas State Parks system.
We will be returning to Mother Neff SP in the fall and are looking forward to seeing the fall foliage.

This park was renovated after flooding. It is spotlessly clean with all new facilities. It has pull-through and back in sites. All are large and level and immaculate. There are only 20 sites, so even when full the park is not crowded. The park staff were very friendly and helpful. There are numerous easy hiking trails. We will definitely camp here again.

Everything in park is new , sites are large, big enough for 45 ft and larger. They are level and have fire pits and tables. The only issue the park is close to cr236, and you can hear the traffic.

Mother Neff is a small campground (20 sites, 2 our camp hosts) which has recently been redone as the result of flood damage. Our RV would likely fit in nearly any of the available sites, which are FHU and a mix of pull-through and back-in. The sites are all smooth level concrete pads, and there is ample over-flow parking if needed. All of the sites offer reasonable privacy and the kind of camping we've come to expect from TX state parks. The campground itself is quiet with a handful of short and well maintained trails. All of the campground staff and the camp hosts were friendly and helpful.
It was an easy 20 minute drive to Waco to run errands, shop, and etc.
T-mobile worked well with the help of our booster, but was otherwise poor.
Fort Hood and Space X are nearby so there was definitely some interesting noise and vibration, but it was always during the day.

MOTHER NEFF STATE PARK - Moody, Texas - $25.00 per night with a state pass - Full Hook Up (30/50 amp).
WOW - I have always loved our Texas State Parks, but the upgrades in this park are fabulous! Our tax dollars at work to make our parks big rig friendly, with really spacious sites that capitalize on the beauty of this great state. I hope this is a preview of what is to come in all of the state parks. Yep, I am a Texas gal!
Only good things to say here - each site has a long, level, concrete pad with water, electric (both 30/50), and sewer. Generously spaced crushed granite patios and tent pads are nestled among the tree coverage. All of the roads are asphalt and easy even for big rigs to maneuver. There are some pull-through sites, but our site, #5, was a back-in. The playgrounds were modern and placed well throughout the park. Lots of hiking trails here! Restrooms/showers looked like new, but I know they are about 5 years old; a great testimony to the staff and work campers that are keeping the sites and facilities in tip-top-shape. The location of this park is convenient to Waco, Temple, and even Killeen where you can see the sights/museums or pick up supplies easily. Would we stay here again? You bet we will!

Beautiful state park not far from either Waco or Austin. The sites were very big with a picnic table and fire ring. Our site (13) didn’t offer any shade, so keep that in mind during the summer. Several great walking trails and there are several areas to explore, including a cave/cliff and wash pond.

The campsites and restroom here are newly built and very nice! Sites are level with lots of space, with parking space being concrete and walking space is crushed granite. There is nice spacing between sites. The main activity here is hiking.
Be prepared for some noise here! There is a lot of road noise as there is a highway a mere 200 feet from the campground. There is also occasional noise from a rocket facility 6 miles away and an artillery range 10 miles away. (See photo.) That being said, we would still stay here again when in the area.

The pads are nice concrete. The picnic area at each spot has a metal picnic table and a fire ring all surrounded by a huge crushed granite pad. Very nice! AT&T only had 1 bar at our site but still measured speeds of 25 Mbps down and 6 up.
