Pushing through Utah, we found this Cabela's for an overnight stay. Like others have said, it's an easy in and easy out but we arrived too late to grab one of the RV spots so we headed for the edge of the parking lot. We had some street noise but the area was well lit and we felt safe. A bonus was a free dump (we made a purchase, otherwise there is a small fee?) and water fill up...can't complain!

We arrived, following the GPS exactly, went to the end of the road per GPS and instead of a pond we found a locked gate with a “Private Property” sign on it.

Hubby had to back our 30’ Airstream down the road-great practice! and we landed in another spot that was actually a nice cement pad.

Where did we go wrong?

***Update*** In the morning we were able to see where the pond is. Upon entering off Vanderbilt Road, the pond is to your immediate right

A great quiet overnight spot to stop for the night. It was a bit hard to find a level spot but not too bad and we had a nice view of the river. Easy on and off the road and the only negative would be the goat heads.

Dumped our tanks today as we heading North on the 5.
Easy in, easy out…dump station needs a new hose as it leaks. Otherwise, all is great!

We arrived to dump our tanks. Hubby went into the store to pay and get the key to find out the dump was full. A sign at the dump station would have been nice

Our plan was to stay at Saddle Mountain as a stopover between San Diego and Arizona but we found a place we would want to stay much longer and ended staying an extra day! Getting a late start out of San Diego we didn't arrive until after dark so we found a empty lot at the intersection of Courthouse and Salome Road for the night. The next morning, we located road 8211 on the map (look for the BLM kiosk) and took that to head closer to the mountains; it's a bit bumpy, as you would expect but not too bad. We found a nice spot that was pretty level and set up for the day.

We took a beautiful hike up Saddleback Mountain Trail. We were making our way up the mountain until we heard thunder, so we headed back arriving home just as the rains began! The views were spectacular!

Many reviews talk about the flies but we only encountered 2 in our trailer; they probably weren't as bad due to the rain.

The directions we used had us exit the 10 (driving East) at Salome Road (exit 81), turn down Harquahala Valley Road until you get to Courthouse Road and then turn left. It seemed to us that staying on Salome Road and turning right onto Courthouse Road would be a more direct route but we left a different way and did not check out our hunch to see if Salome Road went all the way through to Courthouse Road. We'll explore that idea on our next trip.

We used both our Verizon and T-Moblie Hot Spots and they both did great. We concluded that we could be there during a work week with no problem.

Saddleback Mountain was quiet and beautiful and we'll defiantly be staying here again.

Pulled over here to grab some lunch. Very small, not any segregation, and not enough parking with cars parking in the RV/Truck area. Shooed a few cars away who tried to park in front of us as were trying to pull out. Don't reccomend for a stop and definitely not an overnight

Was planning on stopping at the local WM but reviews and a call there confirmed that this WM was small and parking not great-and not “really” allowed, so we decided to stay here.

$25 gets you FHU (new electric and 20/30/50 amps) and great access to both the 10 and 285. Lots were nicely spaced- not paved, but hard pack. Payment is cash only. There was freeway noise, but that doesn’t bother us.

Our Verizon Mifi wasn’t great but our T-Mobile phones worked fine.

Drove through-parking lot is small and crowded at 4:30.
When we called to see if we could stay, we were told we’re not supposed to but the police don’t so anything about it; it would up to WM to ask you to leave

We used our TT membership and stayed at this park on our way to WA. Although the park is close to the freeway, the rural road takes you to the spot that it sits next to the San Joaquin River. It was a quiet night's stay. The park is small, and like a lot of TT parks, a bit dated, but clean and it seemed all the full hookup spots were taken up by FTers; there was a dump station we used on the way out. The ranger showed us to a nice, level, end-spot to park for the night which was it was surrounded by grass with no spots behind us. We plan on using this campground again on our trips up and down the California 5 Freeway.
