We would highly recommend the Mount Pleasant KOA. We stayed two nights, and could not say enough positive comments about this site! The staff were out of this world! Incredibly friendly and helpful. Went out of their way to ensure our time was enjoyable. The campground itself has amazing amenities, including a beautiful lake!! Wonderful site for the family, and only miles from the Isle of Palms beach and Sullivan’s Island. Would HIGHLY recommend!

This was our second time staying at the Mount Pleasant KOA, and we had another amazing experience! Not only is the location fantastic for Isle of Palms / Sullivan’s Island beaches, but the attention to detail from staff and help they provide is unlike anything we have experienced at any campground. The service was excellent and we felt the staff couldn’t do enough to help us. Just one example: I happened to be spraying bug spray around my tires (which I often do in the south) and a member of staff stopped and asked if we wanted the entire site sprayed for ants. Great service. Would highly recommend this KOA! In addition, Lake and amenities are superb.

This was our first stay at Surfside At Sandbridge. The check in procedure is different to most RV resorts, because there’s no front office or store to report to on arrival (or for amenities or help during your stay). All communication is remote and on arrival you pick up a package with your name on and entry key card from a lock box. All bookings are managed by a third party real estate group. This reflects the fact that this really isn’t a typical Motorhome / TT RV resort. It’s actually a resort for people who buy a plot and park a permanent trailer / tiny home. Most of the plots are taken up by permanent residents, with a few empty ones being rented out to people like us.
Pros: our plot was concrete and mostly level. Water pressure was very good. There are two (smallish) swimming pools and good laundry facilities. The beach is very nice, and is within walking distance (why we chose this resort). The resort residents we spoke to were pleasant and friendly. Many of the plots back onto a lagoon / sound, which makes for a pretty view, although (see cons below) the noise and flooding meant we didn’t sit out much.
Cons: Noise: it can get very noisy! There were a number of park residents working on their units / improving their sites. Our neighbor built a deck the entire time we were there (think electric saws / drills etc…). Flooding: it rained several times during our stay and our plot had standing water for a number of hours afterwards that made it unusable for sitting out. Privacy: there isn’t much. The plots are very close together with little vegetation providing any privacy. Check out time: it’s VERY early - 10am. This is around two hours earlier than most other resorts we’ve encountered.
In summary: if you want a place to stay within walking distance from a nice beach, then this might be for you. Just be forewarned about noise and the potential for flooding.

We stayed four nights in July 2023 and throughly enjoyed this campground. We had a waterfront site, and had lovely water views during our stay. We were on site #124, and although the waterfront sites are close together, we had a natural (bush) 6ft high privacy screen that made us feel quite private. There’s a reasonable sized swimming pool; excellent washing/drier facilities. Full hookups. It’s a very short drive into Key West, and we went every day on our motorcycle (which we carry on the rear of the RV). The campground is easy to access. The staff were very pleasant and always helpful. Remember to get a key lime pie from the small store! Note: the campground is relatively close to the Key West Naval Air Station, so you’re going to see and hear some jets. It didn’t detract from our stay.

This is our second stay at Springfield CoE campground, and we absolutely love it. It’s become one of our weekend getaways. The lake views are stunning. The campground is clean and well maintained. Waking up and having a coffee with a lake just steps away is priceless, and at a CoE campground, it’s a steal at $28.00 per night. Would highly recommend.

Curry Hammock is a beautiful small state campground. It is clean with an excellent bathhouse.
There’s power and water, with one dump station. We were in site 13 and had the most fantastic view of the ocean (note: because of dune grass you don’t see the ocean when seated - but have amazing views when standing or from inside your RV). We stayed 4 nights. There is a beach, but during our time here it really wasn’t usable for sunbathing because of sea grass deposits (drive a little down the road into Marathon and go to Sombrero beach, which is ideal for sunbathing). However we used our kayak every day we were here (you can rent them if you don’t have your own) and going through Mangrove Tunnel is a MUST, as is kayaking out to the sand bar and walking along it. The campsites are very hard packed gravel and level (didn’t need any leveling). The campground hosts were extremely friendly. We were here in July (2023) and of course it was HOT, but cooled down so we could sit outside at night. We weren’t really impacted by mosquitoes either, which was nice. Overall, and gem of a campground and we would return!

Jekyll Island is a hidden gem, and an idyllic getaway location. Beaches, cycle paths, restaurants etc… are in abundance. The island itself never felt crowded or busy.
The campground is well located for beach and access to the rest of the island. We have a Class C without toad, and used our bikes to get around every day (you will need either a vehicle, bike or golf cart to be able to explore the island). Most of the campground is well shaded under huge oak trees covered in Spanish moss. Not sure we’ve ever visited a campground with so much shade. Section T seemed to lack some shade however. There are full hookups on all RV sites. Most are packed dirt or gravel and reasonably level. The price is quite good for what you get.
On the con side, the campground is tightly packed, and when full, feels crowded. Depending on your site, you could have someone relatively close to you on three sides. Also - the mosquitoes are quite brutal. However, we used deet spray each day and only had one bite between the two of us over 4 days, although we chose not to sit outside for most of the time because of this issue. Many campers have pop up netted tents they sit in, and I would recommend one if you enjoy sitting outside your RV. The campground management did spray the entire place while we were there (vehicle driving up and down roads spraying into the air one evening) and it made a difference the next day. The campground contains a lot of posted rules (“don’t do this / that etc…”) which may annoy some people, however our interactions with staff were always very helpful.
In short, the price is right, the location is excellent, and with the right campsite location, this is a great choice. We will be back (with netted outdoor tent and in a different campsite).
Note: there was construction going on during our stay (July 2022) which may have disturbed those close to it. Seemed they were building a new bathhouse as well as some kind of additional building.

We had a wonderful stay at HBSP and would recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, easy-to-access, affordable, on-the-beach campground. The campground is split between the north and the south (5 minute walk between the two). We stayed on the north campground and found most sites were spacious and well maintained. Most have electric and water, although some in the north are also full hookups. We stayed on site 123 and thought it exceptionally quiet and well shaded. The south campground is all full hookups, but the sites are much closer together (think KOA / commercial campground layout). Still very pleasant with its own direct beach access, but we preferred the space in the north. The beach is a very short walk along dedicated access points. There’s a lovely gift shop, and a variety of walks / state park activities. We immediately booked to return!

RV lake life doesnt get any better than this! We were on the lake, and had a level and shaded campsite. We felt we had distance from our neighbors. Decent shade from some mature trees. Our campsite (38) gave us stunning sunset views and meant the sun rose behind us so we could sit out and have coffee for several hours each morning. Staff were amazing and very friendly. Will be back!
