Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on May 16, 2021Most of the sites were pull through with either lake front or a lake view with water and electric hookups. The site that I had was partially shaded. There was nice foliage between sites in the section I was in so it was very private. The restroom and showers were very clean.
There is a nice, unguarded, swimming beach. The staff was very friendly. I had full AT&T cell and data service.
The price I paid was discounted with my senior pass.

We have camped here 3 times this season alone and have one more stay already booked for next month. Site 41 is an awesome double site so we take our 18 foot Forest River and my daughter and son-in-law take our vintage StarCraft 8 popup. It's a great pull through lakefront site with an uber amount of room! There is a bathroom house steps away but was a little disappointed it didn't also have showers but oh well another bath house was a short walk away. One our favorite places to camp since it's only a 40 minute drive from home but it feels like you are a world away. The campsite rangers are always very friendly.

First let me say this is one campground that should be OPEN YEAR ROUND!!! We would probably never camp anywhere else. We have been spoiled to the very large well kept campsites and the cleanliness of the entire campground cannot be beat!
This double site is at the back side of a nice cove. and if the COE would let Lake Hartwell water levels rise just a bit this would be the perfect site.
We have camped on the single site next to this one as well #68 and it is also fantastic! I just don't have one single bad thing to say about the people who oversee this campground or the campsites themselves. And this being just minutes from home makes it even better :)

We stayed here for the 4th of July week. The site was very level with a small step down to the picnic table area. The entry into the water was nice and shallow, perfect for our 4 year old grandson. This is our favorite place to camp and we come here regularly. This was our first time to camp in this particular loop but it quickly has become one of our favorites. The campers on each side of us became quick friends. We had a blast. And even though the site was 2 sites up from the boat ramp and directly adjacent to the ramp parking it was still very quiet and calm. We will definitely try and get this site in the future when available. Cell service with sprint was awesome as well and over the air TV we were getting 20+ channels. The closest bath house was clean and in good repair as is all the bath houses in this campground. The camp hosts are regulars as well and are always pleasant and helpful.

We stayed here a couple of nights while in the area. Our site was a waterfront pull through with good view and nice size. We did not use the bath house so I can not speak about the condition. The campground staff was very friendly. Nice asphalt drive. My only complaint would be that there was very little grass area in the part where were located. It is mainly bare and sandy dirt so we were constantly sweeping. Not a huge deal but just something to be prepared for especially if you have small kids or pets that will come in and out without wiping their feet. We would stay here again if in this area.

This was always one of our most favorite places to camp. First trip this year, not happy at all. they did a huge clear cutting of trees. it looks horrible and most campsites have had almost ALL the shade trees cleared. there are only a handful of sites that I would even consider staying on in the heat of summer! I won't say we will not stay here again but we will have to be lucky and get one of the few sites that has a little shade left. I know it was probably necessary but maybe they should have done it in sections and not the entire campground at once. It is not very pleasing to look out and see mounds and mounds of timber, tree roots and dirt piled up everywhere.

My husband wanted to camp here because his father always camped at this campground. We were disappointed how all the trees were cut and the camp ground appears neglected. The access to the lake was a positive. The worst part of the stay was the ants. They take over your camper. We had to treat our camper when we returned home to get rid of them. I saw other reviews that stated the same. I would recommend site 59, it very steep to get into and out of.
We will stay here again only because of the proximity to family and there are not many choices in the area. We will definitely choose a different site next time and hopefully be better prepared for the ant issue.

So this is our second time here at Springfield CG and we always enjoy the total relaxation we feel. Agree with some of the reviews on the clearing of a lot of trees, it doesn’t not make the CG look pleasing. But we always come during our 2 week fall break and enjoy the colors we have and the view of the lake. The proximity to anything or grocery store or fuel is amazing and the community of Anderson is also. Unfortunately, we also had problems with ants this year but was easy to treat here. They crawled up our water hoses. ( so just some how elevate and put down borax or some kind of killer). We will probably make this our annual spot for our Fall break. Plus it always falls near the week I need to be in GA to teach.

First. If you need to work on the road, you will not be staying in site 43. Don’t know what other, more elevated sites are like, but we could stream (not hi-def) but upload sucked for Visible and Cricket.
That aside. Loved the campground. Did a walk around and there were only a couple of sites I would not stay in #26 and it’s neighbor. In May there was not as much boating activity as I have already seen elsewhere- so there were kids kayaking and fishing. Great happy sounds of kids playing, great spacious site - could possibly have parked another 30 footer here. 50 amp was good, as was water pressure. Sites decently spaced.
We don’t use showers etc so cannot comment on their status, but there seemed to be some in each loop. Also. Could have some more vegetation between sites/for shade.
