Chose the campground due to proximity to family for Thanksgiving.Staff was super nice - showed me to my site and let me set up a parking pass for my dad to stop by and then showed us to our site. They regularly pick up trash during daylight hours, deliver firewood, and pet puppies :-) We spent a whole day just hanging around the campground enjoying the dog park by the lake and trails through the woods. Bathrooms were always clean and my husband opted for them over the camper. If you don’t follow your GPS, you turn left out of the campground to come out to 17 at a light. Disappointing that our fire ring wasn’t closer to our picnic table and set up spot. Struggles to connect to wifi but had good cell connection with Verizon and T Mobile.

Staff was very friendly & helpful. It’s easy to get in & out. We are 39’ class A towing a vehicle and we had a pull thru. We wanted to visit Charleston and this was not too far. We’d recommend it. Only complaint is, the “grass” area of our pull thru site, they are all over grown with those clover looking weeds with the burs that get in your dogs hair and you have to cut out! They were mowing all over the park and it’s well maintained except our area, standard pull thru site 056. The elite pull thrus as you first enter were gorgeous if you want to lounge outside etc but we were only using park to rest. Hubby says bath showers were nice.

Sites are very close to level. Decent space between each site. Bathrooms were clean. Playground, disc golf, and hiking trails. My only issues are the roads( no direction) and not every site having sewer.

It's a large, clean KOA. The only thing that made this price worth it was that their wifi was awesome. I wouldn't have chosen to stay here for this price if I hadn't been exhausted and really needed hook ups. The 3 stars is due to the price though I suppose you're paying to be close(ish) to Charleston. I've since seen that there is a $16 parking garage in the city with RV spots.
Sites were level, bathrooms were clean. Large camp store with firewood. There was a pool that was closed seasonally.

Like most KOA campgrounds, Mt Pleasant KOA is very nice, clean and a friendly place to stay. Yes, you pay more at KOA. But I rationalize the premium as the price I’m willing to pay for cleanliness, amenities and consistently for my family.

This is one of the best KOA campgrounds we have stayed at so far. The grounds are immaculate and spacious and the layout allows privacy and ease of access. we stayed one night with water electric and wi-fi (dump is on the way out.)

The grounds have an amazing lake and the location to Charleston and surrounding areas of interest is perfect. The facilities including laundry are clean and in good order.

The camp hires many staff to attend to the guests, and to keep there grounds clean and well maintained; including delivery of firewood to your site via golf cart with just a call to the office.

We met 2 of these guys (Greg and Roy) who were so helpful, funny and in praise of the grounds where they work.

All in all a great experience, and we would love to stay again!

This is a really nice KOA. It's clean, well-maintained and the staff was friendly. I'd spring for a paved site as we were constantly tracking sand and gravel into the trailer.

Like most KOAs, this one was family friendly with play areas and lots of kids. Charleston Fun Park (go-carts, mini-golf, arcade) is right next to this property. This campground is on a historical plantation and we took a tractor tour of the property. The park is also near Boone Farm Plantation, which is worth a visit.

If you're going to explore downtown Charleston, James Island might be a better location. This park felt really far from downtown Charleston and we ended up spending a lot of our time in Mount Pleasant which was fine, but not very interesting.

I am so glad we got a premium spot along the lake...most other spots are very close together.
We were right next to the caboose and the cabins. We had a great ‘backyard along the lake with swing, fire pit, views. The location is good to explore MT Pleasant, Isle of Palms and Sullivan’s Island. About 30+ minutes to downtown Charleston and traffic can be rough. Overall a pretty spot set away from the commercial hub bub of Mt Pleasant..

We don’t typically stay at KOA’s but this one was convenient and had power so we could run the AC. Summer humidity is a killer! This park was well kept. A great 1.5 mile long nature trail. We didn’t see the resident alligator but glad to know there is one. Great smooth road for skateboarding.

Pool was open but limited to 6 people. No boat rentals, but bikes were still available. They are checking what state you’re from. If you’re from a state that is still on stay at home orders, they won’t be able to give you a reservation.

Would have given it 5 stars, but it’s hard to pay $75/night for camping...

It’s certainly a nice place. They are very strict with the pool, if there is even a remote chance of a thunderstorm they close it. They are also extreme face mask enforcers which is annoying bc who is wearing a face mask around the campground in Charleston heat. You can’t enter the store/office with out a mask on. They also made someone take a trump flag down. I just didn’t like the vibe of the place. Campers are supposed happy go lucky, not so confined by rules. I’m all for rules, this place just took the fun out of it for me.
