We absolutely loved this campground and look forward to staying again. The owners were very welcoming when we arrived. The campground was clean and well maintained. The asphalt sites were level and we loved that our site backed up to the Little Pigeon River. There are a number of amenities available (a splash area, eagle's nest viewing telescope, kayak/inner tube rental to use on the river, and souvenir rock painting).

The internet and phone coverage here were fantastic. I had to work during the days and had no issues whether transferring files or participating in a conference calls. It's the best connectivity we've experienced at a campground to date.

Another benefit was the proximity to Dollywood and Pigeon Forge. While it's not the same atmosphere as staying in the National Park, it made for a quick drive time when heading to Dollywood and other attractions.

We really enjoyed our experience at the Carlsbad KOA. There were lots of activities on site including life size checkers, tetherball, basketball, a playground, and well maintained pool. Inside was a large game room with foosball, ping pong, life size Connect 4, a television, and Wii. There was a small cafe on property that would deliver dinner to your campsite. The on-site store had a selection of camping essentials, some food items, souvenirs, as well as local artwork. The essentials were priced higher than outside stores (as expected for most campgrounds). The staff provided a map and travel tips to local attractions. Price included cable and WiFi (coverage and speed was better than most campgrounds). Our price reflected a 10% KOA discount. Sites were gravel, but level and pull through.

Everyone we spoke with here was very friendly and welcoming. The park is kept clean and maintained very well. Bathhouses are spacious and clean. Our site backed up to a small lake. Nice playground for kids. We visited off season but the pool area looks nice too.

The major issue with our stay is just how close and cramped most sites are. The site was level and everyone we were around was super friendly which is great when you’re so close.

The campground was clean and offered playgrounds, activities and pools. We played a round of mini golf and enjoyed the amenities. WiFi was free and decent enough for the basics but don’t expect to steam video if that’s your thing.
The bath house was clean and overall the park is maintained well.

Pricing seems a little high considering the quality of sites. If you care more about the activities and amenities it’s worth checking out. If you prefer some quiet and space you should look elsewhere.

Our site was one of the many available lake front sites. There was a lot of space between us and neighbors and plenty of room to sit by the fire and view the lake. There were several trees on our site offering shade and privacy as well. The site was gravel but level and well maintained.

The park offers an activity center including mini golf and a camp store. The prices of camp supplies and small groceries are reasonable. There is a boat launch and this is a popular fishing spot. There is a 9 hole golf course within half a mile as well.

The bath house near our site was showing its age. It was clean in the afternoon but fairly dirty in the evening. Additionally the mosquitoes and friends were plentiful outside and inside the bat house.

Cell reception at the site was good but dropped off if you adventure into the park or surrounding areas. There is no WiFi available and local TV stations are hard to tune in. This is a pro in my book but my daughter would disagree.

Spacious sites with tall trees make you feel like you are right in the middle of the National Parks - and you almost are. Even though you are remote enough to have no cell signal or WiFi the campground has a small grocery store and gas station on site. There is also a gift shop at the Lodge next door and a restaurant where you can eat if you don't feel like cooking on the camp stove.

Sites are pull through and ours offered full hookups. Tent sites and cabin rentals are also available. Every site we saw was nestled under tall pine trees and had fire rings and picnic table. There is a 24hr shower house facility in the center of the campground and also laundry facilities near the main check in station.

While the campground is among our favorites the real reason you visit is for the Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. Within a few minutes we were in either Grand Teton or Yellowstone exploring all they had to offer. If you can find availability in this campground we highly recommend reserving a spot!

We absolutely loved staying at Henrys Lake State Park. The convenience of being so close to the Yellowstone West Entrance was great. The park itself was very well maintained (the sites, the trails, the bathhouses, even the dump station). The view from our campsite (which backed up to the lake and mountains) was unbeatable. We even saw a moose and her calf one morning in the meadow. This is definitely one of our favorite camping stops so far. We highly recommend.

We really enjoyed staying at Valley of Fires Recreation Area. This is a BLM property with electric and water hookups, as well as a dump station. There are covered picnic tables, trash cans, and grills at each site. A bath house with showers was on property and was always kept clean. We were excited to even see a visitor’s center with a gift shop. The people working were friendly and answered all of our questions with a smile. There is an amazing trail that leads out to a 5,000 year old lava flow. The park did a great job of displays on the path to share information and it was amazing to be allowed to walk out on the flows. Some of the sites (including the one we stayed at) overlooked this trail. To the east, there are great views of the mountains as well. At night, lights are pretty minimal so it is easy to enjoy the stars.
