Stayed here 1 night while heading south. This campground is 4 miles off the highway on a wide well maintained gravel road. The site was level and long enough to stay connected. Camped at the foothills next to a small creek and large Cottonwood tree.

Spacious forested campsite. Each site have ample space between them. The campground is mixed conifer/hardwood forest with no understory. One easy trail with a trailhead in the camp ground is a nice 3 mile stroll through the Piney Woods. This trail connects to the longer 20 mile one way 4C Trail. Ratclaff NRA is close to Mission Tejas State Park, Crockett, Lufkin and Nacogdoche.
Here in early December when the campground was almost empty.

This was a nice park. Hikes the east trail loop. Steep and rocky but a good hike. No cell service but the park public WiFi. Was available by the maintenance area. Showers were clean, the building was warm and the water was hot.

The location was perfect for what we needed. A wooded campground with ample space between sites. Our only complaint was with people, not the campground. All of our neighbors strong outdoor lights all around their trailers, then left them on all nights. Everywhere you looked was bright LED lights.

Pull through with a riverfront view. Partial hookups. Campground has a dump station. Propane available. One hour from Crater Lake NP. Some noise from neighbor highway and railroad. Biggest negative was the sites too close for my taste

Nice state park close to Roswell. The lake would be refreshing during the summer. Camp sites spacious. Gravel pads. Easy to level. Bathrooms were dated but due a makeover this year. If you are in NM for awhile, consider the state park annual camping pass. Twenty one night is the break even point. That’s why our nightly rate with electricity and water was $4.
Roswell is an quirky (UFO) and full of rich history. If you eat out, go off the main drag for places locals go. We did and don’t regret it.

This campground was great except solar recharging was hampered by the trees. The highway noise was nonexistent until about 6am. Only about 20 minutes from Bryce National Park visitors center and 1/2 mile from Red Canyon visitors center. Campground was paved, lots of space between sites and a well layout double dump station.
