Our purpose for this stop was the Texas State Historical Railroad. Our next stop made this the perfect place to land. This is a new park in progress. One part has trees and large common area. The part we choose was open for maximum sun. Nicely planned park. Appears to have some longer term guest. The price was comparable to full price federal parks.

We were early for a reservation and used this as a “base camp” for Tombstone area. It best resembles a BLM undeveloped site. Walking distance to historic Tombstone.

As rest stops go, this one was OK. Lots of trees to buffer some highway noise. Surprisingly quiet for an interstate rest stop. Better than a Walmart. We usually use roads less traveled. Would use rest stops over business parking lots in the future when on major roads.

The overlook is wide enough that I could turn around my 31 foot TT without backing up. By sunset there were 4 of us here. The view was spectacular and the sunset was amazing.

Large parking area for RV and semis. This area is away from the flood lights surrounding the facilities. Relative quiet during the night. Easy access

The campground is a level asphalt parking lot. They have 50 and 20 amp electrical boxes. The water pressure is 100 psi. Very bright security lights. The location is quiet unlit 6:30 or so.

Great spot for exploring the Bisti Wilderness the 4 mile road is rough. The parking lot is level.

We stayed during a full moon. Easy access from the highway. Site level.

This was a great overnight stop. Close to hwy 93. Lots of traffic, mainly trucks, late into the evening. Traffic started to return about 4. Only ones there. No one bothered us. Nice view of the snow covered Humbolt Range.

Lot of freeway noise, otherwise it was ok. The noise died off some about 11 and picked up again around 5. Plenty of security lighting. One other rig in the lot. We were left alone.
