Confirmed by 7 users | Last reported on December 14, 2023Stopped here on the way home from Oregon. Many reviews talk about the camp area on the east side of Hwy 6, but there are a few spots on the west side that have great views and are fairly level. The only downside is the train tracks are about 1/4 mile away so you might hear the trains. Beautiful westerly view of the mountains and the valley. No services but cell coverage was good.

Camping off dirt road that starts at the BLM turnaround sign. Road OK, but dodge the rocks. Not 4 wheel drive, but I probably wouldn't take anything on over 30 feet back there. No water, even at the rest area across highway.
Much highway noise from trucks

I was able to drive about a mile off of the highway and finally found a spot we here I could turn around my 30' RV plus towing car. A little noise from hwy but not noticeable at night while sleeping. Lots of hiking available. The actual coordinates of where I stayed are 39.401959, -110.444406

I camped here to break up the drive from SLC to Moab and was very pleased with the location. It's easy to find thanks to the rest stop across the street, the road was in good condition, you're able to pull far enough away from the highway to not hear the traffic while you sleep, and it's got solid 4g Verizon service (important for me to be able to work in the mornings).

We arrive at 11 pm. And our Rv and another where the only ones there. There is a lot of space. We use the first space we found, just because it was late and very dark, we were very close to some blue containers. It looks like it was the best spot. Just because in the morning we have dear company drinking water from those blue containers. It was beautiful specially for the kids.

My husband was in search of more dinosaur queries, so we stopped here on the way to SLC. We were the only ones in the area, except for the spot we chose a mile west, where there was a truck parked for the day. We parked by the blue water barrels like another person did on this post, and we couldn't be happier. It is VERY quiet here, the area was clean, and sites were very level. Even the road in was great, but we didn't go back more than the mile. We did not hear the freeway noise, and the occasional car drove by, but nothing more.
The cell service was excellent for us, and the location was relatively close to Price for shopping. Big rigs can park on just 3/4 of the locations we passed, and you can turn around at the mile road if needed.

Stayed about a mile SW of the rest stop area, down a easy dirt road next to a large drained holding pond. The three nights we were there only about 2 other vehicles passed us. Very dark and isolated at night, even though we could see the highway. Lots of old barbed wire and other metal scraps around, like an old fence was torn down and left. Not much to do except walk up and down the road, but if you need a place to boondock a few nights far away from anyone else, this is the spot.

We stayed here on our way to Moab. We drove in approximately 3 miles from the rest stop and found a nice isolated location off to the right side of the road. We were the only ones there and far enough from the highway so that we didn’t hear the highway traffic. Beautiful views to enjoy with some morning coffee! We would definitely stay here again if in the area.

We followed the coordinates to the big campsite that's on the west side of the freeway about a mile from the entrance.
It's a great campsite with awesome views and lots of roads and trails to explore.
Our data speeds were surprisingly good and the noise from the highway and the train wasn't bad at all.
The only downside to this camping area is there really is only one big rig friendly campsite.
There is a pretty ok one about a mile further down the road if you go right when the road splits. It's directly after the cattle guard and it's on the hill above the train tracks.
We rode our bikes down to it and decided it wasn't doable for our 24 foot class c but there was a 5th-wheel that took that spot the next day.
If you are comfortable getting into smaller campsites it's probably doable for trailers but we decided to go with the first campsite to get away from the train.
There's no water at the nearby rest stop but there are bathrooms and dumpsters.

Found this place after driving several hours from Colorado, was going to just sleep at the rest stop but then saw this just up the road. Beautiful place for star gazing! Very easy to find and great stay for one night, plus full bars of service! I would’ve stay longer if I wasn’t on a time crunch.
