“located along Scenic Byway 12”
As part of Dixie National Forest, rather than a national park or monument, there are no entry fees to drive through or hike in Red Canyon. The Red Canyon Visitor Center was completed in the winter of 2004. It is located along Highway 12 and is open Memorial Day to Labor Day. Information is offered inside on hiking, ATV trails, 4WD trails, horse trails and the beautiful paved bike trail that runs through Red Canyon. There are some fun hikes in Red Canyon including the Birds Eye Trail. This is a moderate .8 mile hike that takes hikers up close to red rock formations. The 3 mile Losee Canyon Trail takes hikers past some select rock formations.

Don't miss this drive. The red rocks are amazing!
Lots of reviews but the manager told us site 18 was the best for a large RV with solar. It is the furthest away from the road, no noise.
The bike path toward Bryce goes all the way there. If you need one they rent e-bikes near Bryce’s entrance. Trail rides, off road 4 wheelers, hiking, this place has it all plus scenery.
The Loose TH was a spectacular hike.
You can walk on the bike path or ride to the visitors center.
On line it said this CG was closed.
We got texts occasionally but even with our amplifier there was no service. If you go 2 miles west service was excellent.

Drove in right on sunset on a Monday and was told there was plenty of spots still open. $21 for the night. Got a spot right next to the manager facing the street which you can hear just a bit. Lucky there is a ton of trees at the campground.
Clean showers were $2.50 for 8min which I found is more than enough. There was an added fee to dump but didn’t choose to dump here.
Only negative is the layout is very confusing and wish there was a map posted somewhere.

This campground was great except solar recharging was hampered by the trees. The highway noise was nonexistent until about 6am. Only about 20 minutes from Bryce National Park visitors center and 1/2 mile from Red Canyon visitors center. Campground was paved, lots of space between sites and a well layout double dump station.

An awesome campground with great hosts. They were very friendly and helpful with information about the area. If there was a way to do 4 1/2 stars this would be it. The only draw back is that only at one site (12) could you get any cell service on Verizon (1 bar). No cell service is good and not so good depending upon your perspective. Water was readily available, pit toilet smelled great, and the stars at night were amazing. It is an easy trip Bryce NP and about an hour from Zion NP.
Definitely would go back.

We love coming here. Nice sites for all size of campers. We have solar and had great site with the right amount of sun. Bathrooms and showers are really clean.
Hosts are very helpful and knowledgeable.
So much to do in the area so we base out of here. Great hiking from the campground.
ATT Cell service isn’t great but signal is good just as we leave the park.

Most reviews covered this campground well, so just quick summary from my stay:
Stunning views
Paved spots with concrete slab for fire ring, bench and grill
Central dump with drinking water for RV’ers
Central garbage which can be a short hike depending on your spot
Water jug filling spots throughout the park
Nice hot water and clean showers
Hiking trail attached
Very tall trees for shades
No ATT cell, but very short walk towards visitor center, gives coverage for a quick call.
Solar and Starlink users may have limited use with all the tall trees around.
Definitely would come again!

We enjoyed Red Canyon Campground. The Red Canyon visitor center is a short walk from the campground. From campsite 35, the view of the hoodoos are stunning. Red Canyon Campground is located approximately 4 miles east on SR 12 from US 89. Since the campground is right off SR 12 it comes with some road noise. $18 per night, 37 campsite, drinking water, flush & vault toilets, showers, dump station, garbage disposal. First come, first serve.

Camp hosts were really awesome! We had a problem with our trailer hitch and host helped us get everything squared away! Campsites are clean and there was plenty of privacy. The views were so beautiful! I would definitely stay there again! We took our 26 ft camp trailer and it fit just fine.
