easy access, easy departure. It was exactly as recently reviewed. Arrival was efficient as we were met quickly at the gate, and shown our assigned site. the premium sites are away from the freeway(very quiet) and have private screened in sitting areas. . The resort has everything, pool, washer/dryers, fitness room, toilets with showers( that are clean and in great working order), and great WiFi. #33 is a great site, but so are the surrounding ones.
We walked back and forth to the French quarter(10-15 minutes) during the day, and used a car service for our returns after dark.
We have been to New Orleans several times over the years, staying here added a little extra to our visit.

park was totally full for the weekend. we were passing through Texas and found site 6 available for 1 night which is what we were looking for
looks like most sites are sloped and my neighbor had a 10” delta to make up in his class C
lots of fun going on, saw groups playin football, soccer and frisbee. one group was boiling crawfish and had a big texas smoking BBQ pit set up for an overnight cook.
like an earlier review mentioned it was a very busy Friday night

stopped in for a nights rest after reading a couple of reviews mentioning this safe public park. there was 1 big rig there when we arrived and i’m pretty sure he was plugged in. running water and electric all over the parking lot. ended up being 3 travelers for the night. the bathrooms, at the end of
Montana street close to the dump station, were locked.
we felt a little iffy driving in, but soon settled in for a nice restful night

most sites look sloped and site 1 through 10 are laid out for smaller rigs. we paralleled at site 7 and were able to get level without any aids ( class B camper van). good view of the reservoir and very private.
water available throughout the campground close to any site. the campground was fairly full but we arrived fairly early and had our pick except for site 5
site 5 is the premier location for privacy and a panoramic view
the campground is close to the Highway, but the traffic is light and noise level is not worth mentioning.
we paid $5.00 which includes senior discount

very easy to get to. the sites are very close together, but the camp site was fairly empty so we had plenty of privacy at site 19. site 20 would be the go to site from what i could tell. bath house was very clean and functional. showers and toilets both were well kept. looked very new
our dog had a hard time due to the abundance of stickers, and that was the biggest negative about the place.

We for one night to see where the Ohio and Mississippi River converge. This is where you see, touch and feel this merging of 2 aggressive rivers. Lots of tugs and barges, a few fishermen, 1 other camper, a few passer byes, and mother nature. Couple of police cruisers verified its safe, quiet and Free.
A large concrete lot is the designated area for camping, we camped in a grassy area right off the pad. No water or electricity. Dog had lots of green play ground!
It is a good choice for spending the night if you like solitude.

we arrived early afternoon a few days before memorial day weekend. so we had lots of sites to pick from. it’s very easy access and lots of room at each site. By Thursday evening it was completely full, lots of children and mostly tent camping. it’s a family campground for sure. it’s not very big rig friendly, although there was a converted school bus camped on site 16, the best site in the campground. besides tents, camper vans were the most popular. we had site 29 which was awesome. all have lots of shade and all seemed very level
there is a connecting trail to the main trail at site 24. the main trail.
the bathrooms and hot water showers were cleaned every morning. no hookups but there is a dump station as you enter the campground , and drinking water at the campground.
pay station is located at the campsite 15.00 camping fee and $3.00 day use fee. 1/2 that if you have an annual pass

check in very simple and informative. Drove straight to site 31 backed in and we were set up. Level, clean, quiet. we did have a close neighbor but they were awesome so we were happy to have a close neighbor. all the sites around us were suited for smaller rigs, but just around the corner the sites would accommodate most any size
showers and toilets were clean and very functional.
the park is well maintained. we only stayed 1 night but managed to get a good hike in on the skyline drive trail. it’s a steep grade with 1 section of switchbacks. slow and very scenic.

picked this campground to get off the road for the night. it was a little bumpy(washboard road) but really no big deal to get to the well marked site.
quiet with spacious level sites.
2 vault toilets in good shape and community water hydrant. we were in site 8 in our camper van and it was perfect.
saw a small rattlesnake, during a short hike. but no issues avoiding it.
with your america the beautiful pass price is $3.50
$7.00 without a pass

as a stopover heading further north in the smokies it was a great place to enjoy a peaceful night
sites 25-30 are secluded, but still an easy walk to the camp host and bathroom/ showers.
the campground is immaculate which includes the showers, bathrooms, sites, and roads.
i’m pretty sure all the RV sites have full hookups and all looked very level. i suggest site 25,26, 27 or 30 if your looking for privacy
keep your dog on a leash, we were checked by a ranger even though our pup was sitting in my wife’s lap
they have firewood for sale, if you bring your own make sure it’s certified, we were checked for that as well. Ranger was super friendly
the road we were on to the park(can’t remember the number) is very curvy and steep with some size restrictions
we didn’t spend enough time to enjoy the hiking , we had some trout waiting for us in NC so we had to hit the road
