“very scenic and awesome stargazing”
$6 per person park entry fee in addition to camping fees.
One of the best state parks in Texas. There's beautiful views of West Texas, nice trails and fantastic birding. There's lots of animal activity at dusk if you hang out in the bird blinds you might get to see raccoons, gray foxes and other critters. Your campsite might be visited by acorn woodpeckers and towhees. If you're a bird enthusiast, this is a park to add to your list.
Beautiful state park, great facilities and very friendly staff. It was very easy to go into 'town' if you needed anything. It's a tiny little town though. :)
Great facilities. Easy drive into town or to the McDonald Observatory.
