We used this as a base for visiting sights in the area. Short drive to St. Louis, very interesting historical site Cahokia Mounds. Also went to Copper Fire in Belleville to listen to live music.

The campground is not very private, half of the sites are paved and the other half are gravel. All sites have electric and water and there is a dump station behind the bathhouse. Nice free showers. This is a fairly typical FamCamp, but in my opinion is a pretty good deal at $25 and a short drive to attractions. Walking around the lake in the morning is so peaceful.

I didn't experience broken items or sites being used as storage like other reviewers.

Good Starlink coverage.

This campground is not on the way to anywhere, though it is a very nice spot. There is lots of wildlife and nice hiking trails. The campsites are much more private than the map would indicate due to the lush vegetation in the campground, However there are no first come sites, all sites must be reserved through the online Alberta Parks site which charges a $12 reservation fee. Not a problem if you are staying for a week or so, but a bit steep for one night. Also we are on T-Mobile and did not have service in the park. So if you arrive without reservations, it may be tough or impossible to get online to make a reservation. During our stay, the campground was less than 25% occupied, so empty sites abound.

Also be aware there is no water available. If I came back here it would be because of the wildlife and hiking, but $38 ($26 + $12 reservation fee) is a bit expensive for a campsite that has pit toilets and no water.

It is a gorgeous area though and the access roads are pretty good, just a little bit of washboard early on. Inside the park the roads are great.

Starlink worked great from our site, it would have had trouble in some of the other sites that don't open to the north.

This state park isn't really suitable for trailers, however Vista de Bofecillos is the only exception. We easily got our 25 foot trailer into this site. The site is on top of a hill with stunning views. It has a covered picnic table, there is some hiking from the campsite and the mile long access road is a little bumpy. The park receives so few visitors, that you feel you are all alone here and you will have days without human noise. You are close to nothing, so go and enjoy the views and solitude. Highly recommend this site. Great for solar and Starlink.

I wouldn't go out of my way to stay here, but we had some business to take care of in Columbia, SC and chose this campground.

All of the sites were large with concrete parking pads. If you stay here, you best be ready for the bugles on the loudspeakers. Not sure why they need to sound off in the campground, but they do 12 times a day and they are loud!

Good spot for Starlink usage.

We were here during a heat wave, low 90s during the day. That made the waterfront sites pretty unbearable as they are mostly in full sun. We snagged our site, #39, which was a huge site in the trees. When the host came by to collect the fees, we found out why it was so large. It and #40 are considered group sites. The host told us that if the campground filled up, she might have to put someone in next to us to share the site. Fortunately, even though it was a long British Columbia weekend, the campground didn't fill up.

Pretty good hiking from the campground and the lake is great for kayaking. Beware, the mosquitos were fierce during our stay. But hearing the loons day and night was magical!

Lots of nice level spots here with a good road coming in. Remember it is an OHV area. There were quite a few vehicles over the weekend we were here, but they were all respectful of the campers. The only downside is the trash. Lots of it around and a fair bit of grafitti on the rocks. The rock formations are very cool. No trees so it was a great location for both solar and Starlink service.

These sites were all nice and level with each site having a covered concrete pad over the picnic table. It is a little strange in that you must make a reservation for a free site which results in alot of sites being reserved, but not used as there is no incentive to cancel your reservation if your plans change. Very limited hiking opportunities from the campground as it is surrounded by private property. Lots of hunters were out and about and using the boat ramp. At night it was nice and quiet with decent solar production in site number 2. This site is next to the playground which could be a problem, but wasn't used during our stay. Site number 2 also worked well for Starlink, and I don't think any of the other sites would have worked. No water here.

First off, they are replacing the bridge on Henry Dupuis Road west of the campground, so the only way in or out is on highway 3177. The sites were clean and level with concrete pads and well located utilities. There is a senior discount bringing the price down to $10 which is an absolute bargain for a FHU site. There is no pay box, you have to wait for the worker to come by in the morning to pay, No showers, but the unisex bathroom was nice and clean. The sites are close together with little privacy, but there were only 7 of the 17 occupied during our stay so it felt fine. There is a bit of traffic on Henry Dupuis Road and the CG is right on the road. Nice boat ramp on site that gets a fair amount of use, but not a problem. Starlink worked great in our site and would probably be fine in all sites. No hiking from the campground, but the visitor center on I-10 at the 3177 exit is wonderful and worth a visit.

We did not have T-Mobile cel coverage in the campground.

We stayed here while we looked for a home base in Canon City. This was a wonderful place. It is close to Canon City and has incredible views. Plus lots of trails in the area along with alot of dinasour fossil history. We did see some snow on a couple of mornings, but it is a great BLM dispersed camping area. Solar production was great and Starlink worked flawlessly.

This is a beautiful free boondocking area near the South Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. The roads are all good. When entering the boondocking area, there is the circle to the left which has room for about three rigs. Passing the circle, there is a knoll on the left that has room for a big rig. Continuing on, there is a road on the right leading to a ridge. There is room up on the ridge for six comfortably. Further down the road, there are four more sites on the right side. The last one is at the fence and is gorgeous, but you would have to go through the gate to get turned around. There are no signs on the gate, so there is no problem going through and you can even camp on the other side of the gate as there are a couple of sites and no sign banning camping in the area.

Great base to use for visiting Medora and the National Park. Don't pass up hiking the Petrified Forest trail just north of this area, it is amazing and we saw lots of bison on that trail. Great Starliink speeds.
