Camped 4/30/17. We arrived at the campground in the evening just before a storm, so there was no camp host and no one came around to collect money, nor did we see any place to pay with an envelope. All the sites are back-in amongst large trees, alongside Bayou La Rose. As shown in the pictures, there are NO picnic tables at the sites. The campground/park is right next to a road that was well traveled and in a residential neighborhood.

We took the exit in Henderson to follow LA-352 until it intersected w/Henderson Levee Rd. We looked for a Herman Dupuis road sign (none) and missed the turn-off, so ended up driving all the way to La Fausse State Park (which is closed indefinitely due to flooding & electrical damage). The ranger told us it's the only paved road over the levee. So FYI - it's about 4 miles south from the LA-352 intersection, the road over the levee is paved, and there is a Butte La Rose sign.

The bathroom was a unisex bathroom and dirty, although there was toilet paper and paper towels. Trash bins were down by the boat ramp and were overflowing.

We would camp there again in a pinch, but as tent/van campers, probably wouldn't spend more than a night there.

Camped here in Feb 2017

We were so happy to not have to stay in the larger cities. Uncle Dick came through for us. Open campground with all back in sites large enough to handle 30+ foot rigs easy. We stayed at the site closest to the boat ramp as we planned to kayak the bayou during our stay. Boaters launched regularly and were nice folks. The dogs loved the large open grass area for the boat-trailer parking.

The tiny town has nothing really going on, but you are just a hop away from Whiskey River (http://www.whiskeyriverla.com) for your weekly Cajun Music fix.

CAUTION - if coming from the West your GPS may try to bring you through Henderson and onto Henderson Levee Road. DO NOT TAKE IT as there is a pontoon bridge with a 9.5 foot clearance and a 5 ton weight limit. Instead use exit 121 off the Interstate and take HWY 3177 to the campground.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights and loved it! Full hookups are available, although the water was shut off due to cold weather. We already had our fresh tank full and it wasn’t a problem for us at all. The grounds are small with about 20 sites, mostly big rig friendly, all back in spots to river view, no pull throughs. Very quiet place, great to get away from crowds. There’s another campground before you hit this one that’s a lot larger, we skipped it and are glad we did!
There’s no check in process on arrival, but a city official comes by in the mornings to check on folks and get payment (cash or check only).

The campground is right on a roadside by a stream, small asphalt pads with hook-ups, water-elec-sewer, and a fire ring. There is a bathhouse on the property, but we did not investigate since we have our own. We were unable to find anyone or any place to pay. There were no instructions on how to pay, so we just hooked up and stayed for two nights. We only got 3G and 2 bars on Verizon, so not great. The road that the campground is located on is very narrow, and people drive fast on this road, so walking around the area is not great. Overall, a pretty quiet area. The community is mostly second homes or camp-type places for hunters, fisherman, and the like.

Great spot to post up while exploring Atchafalaya and Lafayette areas. Right on the Bayou La Rose; we paddled out into some of the connecting channels. So many different birds around here. Watching them fish was a treat. Small country store close by when you run out of milk.

The camp host/parish employee says in the accented mash of the Acadians, “don’t worry about it, no problem, I see you tomorrow” when I flag him down to tell him I forgot to stop and get cash. The park, Uncle Dick Davis Campground is a Parish Park, $15 with full hookups… $10 if you are over 55.The sites are a smidge close, but there are only about 4 campers spread between 17 spaces, each of which are on the water. The water is high, about 2 ft below the campsite. Do alligators come out of these rivers? Is this the swamp? Is there any way to know the difference? I picture little dogs being carried off to a quick demise

I really like this little park. It gives you a similar experience to that of the cottages across the road. For $10 I got water, electric, and sewer. There is also a boat launch. There is a clean rest room - his and hers... just lock your stall or lock the door. No showers.

There is a little road noise, and there are street lights, but with the river being right there... it's a pretty nice experience. I was across the road from a guy who loves to crank trance music at absolutely insane volumes, but he only did it for short intervals.

Easy to access... but make sure you come in via 3777 and Herman Dupuis road. There is a low clearance bridge if you come in the other way.

Great cell signal with ATT... 2 to 3 bars on my att wifi.

We had a quick overnight here. Sites are fairly close to each other but mostly level with full hook ups at each site. We read other reviews and took a sample of the water and it was yellow. Very quiet park. Followed other reviews for directions. We rolled in in the dark and rolled out first thing the next morning. Worked for what we needed it to. Able to top up batteries as our solar was no go due to days of storms. Absolutely no cell coverage but our starlink was great. Park seemed very clean. The road was nice and wide to maneuver or 35’ rig in easily

WARNING: We found a warning before we got here to make sure we took 3177 because coming in the opposite way puts you at a low clearance bridge.

As we drove through a small subdivision, at first we honestly thought we were lost, we rounded the bend and came across a small campground right on the water. We have had the most pleasant experience during our time here, we have COMPLETELY full hookup for 15 dollars...that is unheard of. When we arrived we both commented on how nice the grounds were kept, neatly mowed, and trash always taken care of. Sites back up directly on the water and there is a boat launch on one end. The sites are one strip right off of the road but there is adequate space in between. giving each space a small yard. We specifically parked here so we could easily get to Baton Rouge(40 min), Lafayette(30 min), and venture in to the crawfish capital of the world, Breaux Bridge (20min). It was a perfect spot for what we wanted and we would definitely come back!

If you're looking for a place off the beaten path, this is the place. We pulled in and no office or camp host, so we called the number off the website and talked to the gentleman. We said we needed a spot for the night and he said " find a spot and I'll be there in the morning". Cool we set up, clean grounds and unisex bathroom, full hookup but no showers. The locals were very nice invited us over for dinner, chicken hearts, crackling and rice. Ok not for everyone but very nice folks, it's a adventure. Safe travels.

A friend and I stayed here while passing through. We were the only campers at the campground. Through the night we had a couple different encounters. A UTV parked at a distance from us while shining their lights on us. Later a UTV sped through our camp site, between our tents and vehicle. That night while we were sleeping a drunk and incoherent man came right in our camp site and woke us up.

The campground is across the street from houses, so don't expect seclusion.
