Dump station and entire convenience store closed - remodeling I assume.
Overnight stay still ok - check in front desk hotel.
The Free Dump is across the street toward the park just before the RV sites so keep eyes open.
This is Not BLM ( they would allow 14 day ) but rather State Fish and Wildlife who allow only 3 day stay. You will need 2 boards ( 4 inches ) to level in the gravel lot. There is one ‘space’ in the grassy area but grass is not maintained ( mowed ). Nice area with lake access and 30 minutes to city with 1000 ft elevator change ( up then back down ). Open for solar / satellite.
The charge is $10 for the dump whether you wash or not. Scout it first so you are headed the right direction - dump is in the back and you have to go kinda inside out to get too it. It is quite a way into this residential area so something out on the highway would probably be Easier for the same cost.
The Border Patrol will certainly know you are here - they patrol through Regularly and say this is a popular Drop Off spot for people to walk around the check station a few miles north. This did not deter us since we were in a large RV (with good locks) and we had a good nights sleep knowing ‘patrols’ were watching. Very roomy and shaded rest park with one table and trash and plenty of room for any size rig on their way, like us, to Big Bend.
Parking here, just like all of Texas, is allowed for a 24 hour period at Dept. of Transportation 'Rest Areas' - 'Picnic Area' - Roadside pulloffs - or any area part of the DoT as designated by the Blue road signs. ( as per State Trooper at Welcome Center in Anthony (El Paso) state entry point ) A Brown road sign will designate a State or Municipal area and may or may Not comply with this regulation.
As for 'lights' -- what people were Saying were the Marfa Lights were actually vehicles off in the distance coming down Hwy. 67 into Marfa !?? So 'lights' ???? Maybe or Maybe Not ...... but it was fun to stay and see !!! There were some half dozen 'campers' here overnight from Big Rigs to little pop-ups -- all had a good time !! Right next to roadway so some road noise to 'deal' with.
Certainly not a very Beautiful spot as far as NFS camping goes but a very efficient location. Full solar access at the gravel pit and 4-6 good hours of sun across the street in the trees. Paved road all the way to this location, aprox. 1 mile east of Hwy 95 with access from north or south and only 2.5 miles from a Starbucks - grocery - and restaurants in the village center of Sunriver resort community. 20 minutes to Bend. Locals do use this location for OHV and shooting but the NFS truck also came through 3 of the 4 days we were there so felt very safe - as opposed to some reviews and comments (about homeless) of other locations close to bend. (Did not know how to score "noise" -- is 1 good and 5 Bad or opposite ? --- it was nicely quiet at night ! ! )

This would be fine to park for one night but we decided to stay a bit longer so opted for the local Fairgrounds w/elec at $22 night since it was a Hot week in the 90’s. And we don’t usually stay anywhere for only one night, but it’s a fine parking place.
We did not find this area ‘usable’ for our 30’ 5th wheel. Sites not accessible and limited solar access. We instead stayed a bit south at 43.865403, -121.389029 a NFS gravel pit used in their road construction.
