Travelling cross country, we have been minimizing our expenses by staying on BLM /Nat'nl Forest land. Found this little quiet spot by the lake! (On Campendium) though, no reviews....SO??..I thought I'd write a paragraph to help out fellow travelers! This is a fishing area, though there are several lots for unloading boats, so, not crowded at ALL! (and it was a weekend) beautiful view of the lake with picnic tables, fire rings and clean restroom! I always clean the restrooms before and after my visit anyway! But enjoy this spot RV'ers!!

Perfect location. Not far from highway and no noise at all. We were the only ones out there but it was also 20 degrees outside. Bathroom was clean with plenty of toilet paper.

What a GEM!!
The coordinates take you right to the spot. It is a very easy drive, maybe 2-3 miles off the 90. Once you're on HWY 3 the right hand turn could be easy to miss so watch for signs that read "Sportsman Access". Its your first right after Doyle road. Once you turn there (Watson Rd) follow the "Boat Ramp" sign to bring you to a big open gravel area. This is where the designated camping is. You are limited to 3 days.
If you are in something other than a van or tent camping I would recommend using the gravel area to camp. There is a smaller area next to the restrooms that should really be saved for vans or tent campers. Others have mentioned the paved parking area with 4-5 parking spots. I would not use that to camp as this is where people park there trucks/boats for fishing access. We parked our 32ft moho on the gravel area closest to the lake (best lake front view). It was a challenge getting level but we managed.
We stayed Friday - Sunday in late March and it was very quiet for the most part. The place filled up Saturday morning with fisherman however, they were in and out and pretty quiet/respectful. Otherwise, we were pretty much the only ones there the whole time. The lake is so beautiful and serene. There is a lot of bird activity if you are into that sort of thing. We saw bald eagles among other birds.
We got practically no service. Maybe 1 regular bar of Verizon service. I could get a text here and there. Otherwise you are off the grid. There is service at the main road if needed for emergencies.

Actually two sites. Turn left on the dirt road following the boat ramp signs or stay on the paved road for the dock site. Both have a vault toilet. We had no Verizon service

Very convenient to I-90 less than 2 miles off the interstate. less than 1/4 mile good gravel to get to where I stayed by the boat ramp. Vault toilet was clean and well stocked with TP. Very quite with the occasional vehicle or two swinging by to take a look at the lake or launch a boat. Took a nice ride on my motorcycle to Coeur d'Alene and a loop ride around some of the beautiful lakes. Also visited Wallace 25 miles east, a neat old silver mining town.

This is a great place to stop while passing through. If I had a boat, would probably spend a few days. Easy access, vault toilet, great view. What more do you need? You also cannot beat the price.

After finally getting the correct location, my truck gps only allowed a reduced coordinates; I pulled into the spot that looked the logical place, but it was very steep and would have taken quite a bit of leveling blocks AND very overgrown with grass, maybe it would have been better later in the season, grass wise. It was a beautiful view and there is actually a loop around the boat ramp so you don’t need to try making a uturn to leave. I believe the sign to turn left turn off Watson Rd is noted as a Sportsman’s access.

Follow the signs to Sportsmans boat ramp. Requires about a 1/4 mile drive on a relatively smooth 1 lane dirt/gravel road. Sign at boat ramps says 3 day limit for camping. Not sure exactly sure where the accepted place to camp is... the only indicator was the sign said no camping on the beach. There is a gravel lot you pass just before getting to the paved parking lot but it has a lot of slop to it. We parked over night in the far end of the paved parking lot. It is sloped as well but not quite as bad.
Beautiful view. We sat on our chairs on the boat dock and watched the sun set.
Location is about a 20 minute drive east of coeur d'alene.

This is Not BLM ( they would allow 14 day ) but rather State Fish and Wildlife who allow only 3 day stay. You will need 2 boards ( 4 inches ) to level in the gravel lot. There is one ‘space’ in the grassy area but grass is not maintained ( mowed ). Nice area with lake access and 30 minutes to city with 1000 ft elevator change ( up then back down ). Open for solar / satellite.

Nice spot for a night. Not very level but managed. There are asphalt parking but we stayed in a mowed portion of grass before boat parking. Lots of mosquitoes (July 6) best part, FREE. Oh, and woke up the next morning surrounded by turkeys! Nice way to wake up.
