I agree with all the positive prior reviews.

Just spent a week at Bear Lake UT campgrounds and noticed all water shut off until next spring/summer. So, I was a bit concerned the dump station would not be fully operational anymore too. I am writing this review just to share that on my visit in mid-Oct that the water was still flowing.

Pros: beautiful peaceful setting. dog park has the best grass I have experienced in my 6 years of FT traveling and it has nice mature shade providing trees. We spent many hours during our stay chilling under the shade, working on the laptop while the dog slept or rolled around on her back. The MH sites are long, wide and lots of open space between sites.

Cons: the park wifi is isolated to the club house and isn't strong enough to attend video conference calls, stream YouTube clips or download software updates. Verizon is the only vendor and works well unless (like me) you are on the pre-paid hotspot plan. Then you can expect 600kbp top speed most of the time; which also makes it worthless when you want to accomplish the 3 items already mentioned.

Tips: The town of Newport (~15 min north) is your biggest town and offers a substantial set of stores (Safeway, Super1, Auto Supply, Verizon, Fast Food). Walmart is south and takes about 40 min because of the distance, small town roads/frequent stop signs and road construction. I didn't get any arrival instructions and this is the first place where the check-in is about a mile from the rv park and hookup/disconnect spot. My advice is drive straight to the rv park, park in the hookup/disconnect area and then drive your toad back to the office to check-in. Otherwise, park on the street in front of the office and just let the traffic figure out how to get around you while you are checking in.

For a shorter (1 - 2 week stay) I would likely come back. I have enough of a data plan on my phone to get me through a week as a hotspot. Anything longer, it is just too debilitating and I'll stay closer to CDA. I made it 3 weeks and would stay 2 more if I still had enough data to keep working.

I see why people opt to own a lot with the cabin and pergola. Fix the internet situation and I would be too tempted to own one too.

Huge facility. Parking was not complicated and an escort was provided. He returned shortly afterwards to insure all was well. Very peaceful location. My hound (Millie) enjoyed the off-leash area and the large adjacent farm land even more. They have some very reasonably priced meal events starting in January. There are two nearby gas stations with minimal activity and easy access for larger rigs. This includes a wash bay for your rig. The site offered water, dump, electric, free wifi and cable. I travel with my own Verizon MIFI and could stream hulu and netflix in HD without buffer delays, so don't let the 3 LTE bars be a concern.

There are several great places to let your pup have a great time off leash within 10 min of the RV park (Badger Mtn, an epic dog park behind Yoke's Fresh Market, and a nature preserve next to Amon Creek on Leslie Rd.). Their dog parks are some of the smallest I have experienced, but they do let you run your dog off leash on the disk golf course and you can wander off to the adjacent undeveloped land.

It was a treat to have a park with mega wide and paved roads (finally, no billowing dust storms from cars wandering the rv park). I found all of the staff to be great. For example, I arrived 15 min after closing without a reservation, but since they were still milling around they took me in without any complaint and took the time to 'talk to me' about area.

I too find it a bit pricey, but the rate is only fractionally higher than the competition and the monthly rate (starting at 500/mo + electricity) is in my opinion a fair price. I have paid a lot more in Colorado Springs. Sure, I too find it disappointing to charge me a pet fee.

The bathrooms are amazing. Love having a private and secure 100 sq foot room with shower, sink and toilet. Wish I could adjust the water temp and didn't have to keep hitting the shower power to keep water running, but for me it is a minor inconvenience.

Biggest downside? It is next to a busy residential/industrial road and the freeway is just beyond that road. The early morning commuters had me up pretty early on the days I was sleeping with the window open.

They offer free basic cable and wifi, which I found was capable of handling video streaming well. Here are my speed test results (ping/download/upload) from my MIFI devices:

tmobile (29,24,8)
verizon w/ MIMO (48,73,34)
verizon w/o MIMO (48,112,34)

First... don’t come down from the north on the east side of the lake. You’ll find 10 miles of washboard dirt to navigate. Took me nearly 30 min and felt like an earthquake.

All the campgrounds on the East are great spots and they all have some room for my 34’ rig. Rainbow has no power or water, so is $15/nt. I was shocked when I saw the campground was closed already (oct 10), but I got lucky with 1 site of the 4 left open large enough. These sites next to the boat launch apparently are open all-year. The closed sites look amazing though and I would come back here when they are open.

The bigger drawback is the mouse infestation. I am up to 12 kills so far in my first 4 days. There were 5 inside the RV by midnight on the first day. Running the generator all night seems to keep them out; which isn’t so bad since the temps are 30ish. But still would be perfectly ok saving the fuel and bundling up. If I hadn’t already paid for the week, I likely would have gone down the road to the OR campground to pay $30/nt for electric and water sites.

Turns out no motor vehicles are allowed past the parking area just off the main road (230). You can only park at the two small areas right when you pull in. It felt cramped to me with my 34' rig, another class A already onsite, and having to stay right next to the main road that had a good volume of traffic.

With other better options (ex Lake Hattie) only 10 min away, I see no reason to ever return here.

This is one of the locations I did a scouting trip on before dragging the big rig into. As others have said, I wouldn't try to go beyond the large camping area you'll see once you reach the US Naval Observatory sign. There was no one else here in late December and since the temps are 60 during the day and mid-20 at night, I opted to go elsewhere with full sun exposure.

I liked the road is fully paved leading up to the camping sites to help keep the rig clean and figured there wouldn't be a ton of traffic since only authorized folks are allowed past the naval sign, but I was looking for a more isolated and sunny location. There is a narrow dirt road going off but no way I would try to bring my rig down it. I did hear the train, but no whistle so not too bad.

my second casino parking where I paid. You'll see signs along the freeway about the price being $18/night with GoodSam, but they only charged me $15. I am never a fan of the waste hole being at a or near the same elevation of as the rig + concrete curbs, because you have to use so many blocks to elevate the drain hose to match the elevation of the drain and clear the curb. I had to join two hoses to reach it, so all I could was lay it on the ground and go coax the water to the drain hole.

Water was still hooked up at the site. You need to get the key from the hotel desk when you go in to pay. Security patrolled all the time! Still... managed to wash my rv during their absence. Super quiet since there were so few of us. I was the only person that actually was home + stayed more than 1 day. I never got he wifi to work, but I prefer to use my more secure MIFI devices anyway and the bandwidth was just fine. 24/7 you do hear this loud metallic banging off in the distance; which I learned is the semi trucks driving over the cattle grate by the gas station. Eventually, I mostly tuned it out.

You'll see even more signs for Dancing Eagle and you can read what others have said about that place and I agree with the negatives... This place is worth paying a few extra dollars and being 2 exits from the Grocery Store. It was a nice store, but expensive... I didn't realize until the next day how close I was to a large Walmart. Afterwords, I did my grocery shopping at the Walmart.

not much to add from the prior posting. just wanted to let you know it is still here and works great. I do recommend the outside lane (furthest from the road) to avoid scratching you rig on the trees they are letting encroach on the lane closest to the street.
