Mountain Meadows RV Park is located a few miles off the main road so it is very quiet.
It has country feel with nice views, Very nice hosts, passport america campground.

It is convenient to all Alamogordo attractions, including White Sand national Park.

Note- Do not take rattlesnake road like the gps suggests. Take mountain meadows rd.
There is a concrete culvert dip on the rattlesnake road route which will damage longer rv's.

Great Location - Uneven sites.
Don't miss the lava hiking loop in the campground.
Very Quiet, close to the town for food.

Many of the sites are very uneven.
You will need to put several blocks under your front landing gear if you are facing downhill.

This is a huge and friendly 55+ Encore resort.
Everyone was friendly and waved all the time.
Tons of activities, pickleball is big here.

Pull through sites are made available for short term stays.
The vast majority of the residents are seasonal or permanent in park model rv's.

The city of Casa Grande is very compact and there are lots of well-known national stores and restaurants nearby. There is a huge empty parcel of land next to the resort which is used for off road vehicles, walking the dog, or drone flying.

There is some noise due to people drag racing in Casa Grande.

It is worth the money to camp with your rv in the park.
It is walking distance to the food market, and a park shuttle bus stops at the front.
Every evening the mule deer visit the campground to eat the trees and are not afraid of people.

Pro Tips:

1) Check in at the campground booth before it closes, after-hours check-in at the lodge is a mile away and is a big hassle with an rv.

2) Pull the rv forward way past the check in booth past the school bus stop - the reason is that the rv's at the booth will block the park shuttle bus.

3) Enter the park gate before 10 am - it backs up quickly after that.

4) If you park in parking lot A, B, C, or D get there before 10 am. The lots are full from 10 am to 3 pm.

5) The south rim is at 7000 feet, your water hose might freeze. Possibly use the fresh water tank with your water pump.

6) All food is expensive at the national park restaurants, pubs, and markets. Stock up before you arrive. The beer prices are almost reasonable at the bars.

7) Get your propane refilled at "Grand Canyon Camper Village" in Tusayan, just outside the park. There is enough room for an rv to park next to the fill-up station.

Pros:

You can be 1000 + feet from another camper if you like.
Weeknights are quiet.
Walmart, stores, and restaurants are only 13 miles away in Yucca Valley city.
Joshua Tree National Park west entrance is 11 miles.
The lakebed is flat with adequate cell service.
A dump station and water may be available at nearby Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground for a fee.

Cons:

On weekends people come out to party and blast their music at all hours.
Some ATV riders intentionally ride close campers just to kick up dust and be jerks.
Many campfire areas are trashed.
Permanent campers - the government does not enforce any BLM rules at this location.
Access roads in poor condition - the dirt and asphalt roads are not maintained and are rutted.

Nice Park - Away from downtown, less noise.
Lots of empty land next to the park for walking the dogs.
Don't miss Junction Express Food Mart inside the Texaco gas station only 100 feet from the park, no need to drive into town.

Pros - Great location on I-10 provides easy access to the entire valley and all the stores and restaurants.
Delivery packages except USPS are delivered directly to your site.
Friendly Staff.

Cons - Noise, the I-10 traffic and nearby train are loud.
Goat head thorns are everywhere, they will get inside your rv and on your dogs paws.
RV sites are very close to each other.
Arriving and leaving sites with rv is difficult with many obstacles for big rigs.
Entrance is a 90 degree turn that TT will not round off for rv's turning right.
Latecomers will have difficulty finding a site that fits a large rv.
Landscaping - no landscaping other than the palm trees. Sand everywhere.
No place to walk other than park roads - the sand lot acreage next door has been permanently closed to access for people to walk their dogs and themselves. This was one of the nice things about this resort in the past for many years.
