There was a nice grass area in the middle with a patio to BBQ at. There was also a laundry room and showers. The park is kept up nice and the spots are very large. The owner is very nice and will help you out if you need anything. Also it's a few minutes off the main highway which is convenient into Alamogordo but still has excellent mountain views. Would definitely stop back if we are ever in the area.

We like to be away from the highway, but not too far. This park is about 2 miles off the main drag, so far enough to hear “country” sounds rather than highway sounds. One note - coming from the north most GPS units will want you to take Rattelsnake Road - don’t do it! Take Mountain Meadows Road a couple of miles south.
The sites are in a circle, so there’s lots of visual space. There’s a large grassy area with a pavilion and horseshoe pit. The laundry and bathrooms are in one building, with books, games, and DVDs to borrow. The showers are in the toilet areas, and while there are only two, they are huge!

Seems like all the other parks are right on the main road, this one is tucked back a bit and is a nice little site. All but one site is back in, although the sign says pull throughs. If you put the address in google or Apple maps it will want to take you further down the road. Keep an eye on the right side of the road for a white sign.

This place is the best, showers and bathrooms are clean, they even had towels in the bathroom for guests to use while staying there.
Washers and dryers on site we didn’t use them but they are there.
Access to this place is a bit tricky, GPS took us through a river bed, so make sure you are not taking the Rattlesnake RD. Trust me, take the longer route it will save you a hassle.
People were friendly, very informative and nice.
We will stay here again for sure.

I stayed here from 5/2/19 to 5/12/19. As another reviewer said, if your GPS tells you to take Rattlesnake Rd. you should skip it and instead take Mountain Meadows road.
This served as a perfect base camp for me to check out White Sands, Cloudcroft, and Ruidoso. Check-in was very smooth. The owners drove me out to my campsite, and then seeing that I was alone, helped spot for me while I was backing into my site. My site was level and had a beautiful view of the mountains behind it, as well as a nice picnic table. There was plenty of space between all of the sites. There is also a lot of open desert area around the park that was perfect for taking my dog on walks and playing frisbee.
The owners were some of the nicest I've met. On Cinco de Mayo they had a cookout for the whole park, and then again on the day I left they grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for everyone. Everyone at the park was incredibly nice and getting to know them was a great experience.
The laundry facilities, restrooms, and showers are all very nice. They even provide towels! I especially appreciated the location of this park because it was away from the highway. Most of the other parks in Alamogordo and the surrounding area looked to be very crowded and right on the highway.
Overall I had a great experience here and would highly recommend it.

Ok I thought we all agreed to keep this place secretly to ourselves. But since the word is out, it's a great place. Jack and Joann are great managers, it's a small friendly place with clean showers, hiking trails and away from traffic noise.

The managers Jack & JoAnn led us to our site. Very friendly people. They have hot showers and even provide a towel. The guy in site 16 feeds the quail every morning and they come up to feed. Quite fun to watch. Sites are big and it is very quiet. Best campground that we have stayed at in New Mexico.

Super quiet, ultra clean, gorgeous Mountain View’s. Fresh absorbant towels in restrooms for guests to use. Loved all the Christmas decorations and abundance of live quails running around. And they gave us a card for a free 4 oz bag of pistachios at the McGinn’s Pistachio Farm 2 miles away. Off beaten path. Loved it.

Our 3rd time stopping at MV. Has only about 20 sites on gravel with some grass in between. Very, very friendly owners! The quiet, and view of mountains is wonderful. Signs/directions couldbe bigger or newer--and that's my only complaint. 4 nice, big washing machines (+ dryers) are available. Restrooms/showers are old, but always CLEAN with plenty of room to move around. 1 each, mens-womens. Oh, and they've got a large, stainless steel washtub next to washers with great H2O pressure.
Sites are quite level. Easy drive through with our TT. Off-season at end of April but looks to have a nice, big BBQ-type area in the middle for get togethers. Maybe 5-6 full time campers. By all means, give it a try. It's clean, friendly, and generally quiet.
