We stayed here on our way through Atlanta in Dec of 2022. We have visited here for several years and watched as the marina has improved and the campground has fallen to disrepair. The entrance is gated but surrounded by a boat yard that hides the dump station. (We couldn’t dump and leave through the gate without creative backing) The campground is at the base of a hill and has a few very nice sites that face the lake but VERY small, crumbling interior roads. When the marina is full, the cars take over all available spots and RVs must squeeze through them and navigate large pot holes to enter/leave. There is a family of ducks that have taken over several sites (including ours) and I had difficulty keeping them out of my truck and trailer while there. AT&T Down: 44.72mbps Up: 1.65mbps Streaming: 1.5mbps Verizon Down: 95.09mbps Up: 6.83mbps Streaming: 4.1mbps Starlink: (didn’t put out - too many trees)

Unless major investment is put into the campground, we do not plan to return.

Well manicured RV park located behind commercial buildings but retaining the neighborhood feel. Lots of permanent residents and close to the highway but we didn’t notice because it was so quiet. Good wifi, clean bathrooms and a laundry room that got a lot of use and worked well. We were put in the very back of the park and had nice views away from the highway. The site was level and spaced wide enough to not feel cramped.

This is a beautiful and natural State Park that felt a little dangerous with all the alligator warning signs! We were asked if we owned a pet and what type (not an unusual question in campgrounds) because there are several sites that they DO NOT allow pets on because they are a possible meal for the alligators that lie along the banks behind the campsites. Even though we were really close to the alligators we still felt comfortable enough to enjoy the site and a cozy fire because of the natural scenery and foliage. I had no trouble getting my 30ft TT into this site but I would get a site off the creek. There is a place to swim but we were not THAT brave! They have lots of trails but none that we could ride our bikes on. There are eagles nesting in the campground too!

We only stopped overnight and got there after dark. The campground was easy to find since it was right off I-80 but the site was very difficult to locate. We circled the campground numerous times because the signs are not easy to follow and it was pouring rain. The site wasn’t level and our truck didn’t fit in the site but since we were only going to be there a few hours, we didn’t unhook and stuck out in the road a bit. It looked like a nice park and we would stay again.

We chose this campground because it was close to Crater Lake but the beauty and quiet of this campground was a surprise since it is on a main highway. They had a nice laundromat at the entrance and the owners were helpful. We were assigned site 8 and they escorted us to the site. It was level and had a little bit of shade. They offer free park internet but only give you 3GB and that didn’t last long. More is available to purchase but we opted not to. They are very strict with their rules and charge extra if you show up early to your site. They also charge $2.00 per package if you order something online and have it delivered there. We had better luck with AT&T than Verizon. (See pictures)

We didn’t make it to the lake due to a truck breakdown. Shawn & Alena from High Country Automotive, located just down the street from the campground, came out on a Sunday afternoon and rescued us from the side of the road 6 miles from Crater Lake. If you have problems, give High Country Automotive a call!

Gorgeous park in the trees. The entrance is on a hill with a speed bump in the middle and the interior roads are a little snug. The site would have been long enough for the trailer and truck but there is a large stump in the middle of the site forcing us to pull forward enough to get past it to open the door. Because we had to pull forward so far, it put us a good distance from the utilities and we had to park the truck sideways. Surprisingly good internet access too! It was incredibly quiet and peaceful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will return!

This is our second visit to this park. While I enjoyed staying in a site next to the canal better, the newer section was a nice place to stay too. Site 2 is a large, roadside, pull through and although I liked the privacy we got by the site being behind the TT, we had to deal with a lot of headlights coming in the windows at night and noise from the bath house nearby. We had a great time riding our bikes on part of the Florida Trail that runs next to the canal and followed it for 4.5 miles before we ran into a gate. The two lane dump station is at the entrance of the park and it was easy to dump the TT but difficult to use the portable tank because of the large hump in the middle of the lanes. No wifi but we got a decent hotspot signal with Verizon (Download: 13.93 Upload: 19.48 Streaming: 2.6) and great hotspot signal with AT&T (Download: 76.44 Upload: 13.89 Streaming: 3.3). We will return!

This is a beautiful park and we enjoyed bike riding on the main road but the campground is small and the spacing is cramped under beautiful oak trees. We camped on site #25 and it was large enough to accommodate our 30ft. TT. The turns in the campground were very difficult to manage due to trees and the closeness of the sites. The campsites and dump station are 1/2 mile from the entrance which is paved but the interior campground road and sites are pressed sand. We didn't have a problem leveling. Water & Electric at the site - no problems & easily reached. This site is very close to the bath house and volleyball court so there was a bit of noise with the number of kids congregated there.

There is a beautiful white deer that lives in the forest - a true site to see! We had no problems with connectivity. Hot spot connection with a booster: Verizon - Upload: 55.50 Download: 6.03 Streaming: 3.9 AT&T - Upload: 7.98 Upload: 0.41 Streaming: 2.4

Gorgeous, natural Florida state park! The campground entrance is paved but quickly turns to packed sand. The entrances to each site are a bit narrow but the site widens at the back. Some of the sites are very short and would not accommodate our 30ft TT but this site had plenty of room. This is the largest FL state park we have visited (there are about 100 sites) so the drive around the loop is quite long. The dumpsters and dump station are at the entrance to the loop so we used one of the small cut through roads to keep from having to go around the whole loop. The site was level and we had no problem stabilizing.

This state park has a large boat ramp and Tomoka trading post filled with the few odds and ends, tourist items, canoe & kayak rentals and beer for sale! We LOVED riding our ebikes through the large park and there are several walking/biking trails. We had no problems with connectivity. Hot spot connections: Verizon - Download: 30.6 Upload: 14.9 Streaming: 4.0 AT&T - Download: 11.89 Upload: 1.31 Streaming: 3.9. We will definitely return!

The park is only 6 miles from Daytona where there are plenty of stores and places to eat. Go to Ace Hardware for propane refill. The drive in is beautiful with a tree canopy covering the road. Our TT is 12ft high and we had no problems with the drive but taller RVs may want to approach from the north.

We stayed overnight on site 78. It was difficult to find after dark, mostly dirt and not level. We didn't have to unhook but it was a squeeze to fit out 30ft TT and truck. The site had more room to one side, which was nice, but our neighbor's fire ring was located directly behind our TT. There was no water at the site. Verizon was much better than AT&T. It rained the day we were there so we didn't venture out to see the Fort or any more of the campground.
