We have a senior pass, so our cost may not be the same for everyone. We arrived on Sunday of Labor Day weekend it was not too crowded at the RV camp.

This is inside of Olympia National Park along the Sol Duc river and within a short walk of the Sol Duc hot springs facility. The roads in are typical natioal park mountainous roads; paved, narrrow, hard to turn around but basically safe. The camp itself is a rectangular parking lot with a row of campers on each side and the camp hosts and some over large spots along the back. It's not very big. The spots are standard size and the center space allows easy maneuvering to back in. The camp host was very helpful. The back end of the camp and the picnic table was right on the edge of the forest. There are paths to the hot springs and to the tent camping from behind the camp. We had no hookups. There are bath houses and toilets in the tent camping area and those are well maintained. Some of the tent sites have really beautiful views and privacy.
You can actually walk a few miles in a loop on those trails between the facilities without going out on the road and it's quite lovely. That's what we used to walk our dogs.

There is an honor system dump station near the camp for $5. We just paid the ranger as we left the park.

The hot springs was $12 for a 2 hour pass for Seniors. I think normal price is twice that. Very clean facility with showers and locker rooms and a few different hot pools, a cold pool and one large chlorinated pool. The temperature varied with hottest on one end. Beautiful views from the hot pools. Short walk from the RV camp through the woods and across the bridge. Definitely recommend.

There is a sulfer smell in some spots in the area, but it is not a sewage problem, it's the chemicals from the hot springs.

There are NO cellphone towers inside the park and even the hot springs office and store did not have wifi that we could detect.

The office of the hot springs has some gifts, but it's not really what I would call a camp store. We went up there hoping for books or magazines but there was nothing except children's stuff and bird watching books.

The Hot Springs Fall trail is worth the walk although the dogs could not come along as on most National Park trails so we took turns with that. There are a few other nature stops on Sol Duc road that the dogs could join us on. Lots of hiking trails in that area of Olympia and it's not too far to some national forests which also have trails.

This campsite is inside of the Makah Indian Reservation. We stopped at the Mini Mart to get a recreation pass. To get to the reservation at all you have to go on state rout 112. This starts out fine but gets more and more narrow and twisty. For a short distance, the paving disappears entirely and pot holes are common and shoulders are sometimes non existant. I was really doubting my choices on that road. Allow extra time if you are pulling a camper.

The campsite itself is behind a litte roadside coffee shop and some cabins, so it's hard to see and the signage is home made and also not that clear. The roads were all paved and passable, no problem getting in. It's a big gravel parking lot with hook ups, but on the sides of the line of sites on each side there is a generous amount of grass and trees. Depending on when you get in, you may have to call the staff, but she showed up quickly, was really pleasant and answered a lot of questions about the area. I did not use the shower house. Our hookups were fine. The sites are standard width really, not too tight and we had no trouble backing in. It was big enough to leave the truck hooked up if we had wanted that. It was Labor Day weekend and there were a good number of campers, but it was not totally full. A lot of people there were taking out boats.

You walk out a little pathway in the back of the lot, cross a road and then you are on Hobuck Beach. The beach was lovely and we took our dogs out there on leash no problem. Not very crowded. Water was very cold to me, but I'm from the Gulf Coast. Lots of people were swimming and surfing but some had on wet suits.

No one was loud in camp and some were friendly. Overall the camp is very quiet.

I remember signal being poor to non existant. We managed to get maps but that's about all.

We went into Neah Bay to see the Museum which was surprisingly good, about archeology digs of the Makah people. Worth it. Also, Cape Flattery is beautiful and a walk that most people can do. We took our dogs on leash to that also.

There's another camp ground there which is run by the tribe and is more expensive and more crowded. I thought this was a good deal for the money.

Check in was easy and the staff was efficient and polite. Sites are tiny. Getting into the site was easy because I could utilize the alley to approach the back in. Everything worked fine with the hookups. We looked at the Laundry area, but there was nothing big enough to wash our comfortor so we decided to not do laundry there.

It is very close to the west gate of Yellowstone and it is within walking distance of the little town of West Yellowstone. There are groceries, drug store, gas, restaurants, ice cream, souvenier stores both cheap and fancy. You can order breakfast at Earnie's Sandwich shop the day before, pick it up at 7am and be at the gate by 7:10.

I did not see any child sized picnic tables, but they weren't massive either. Good for 4 normal sized people.

We could hear live music from the patio of The Bison Bar and it was pretty good quality music that stopped before 10PM. No one was rowdy or loud in the camp.

The wifi was pretty good for normal browsing, I got some work done on a paper I was writing.

I would go back.

We were here in September of 2023. We were visiting a friend on a 2 month camping trip of the Western states. I am not sure I'll ever go back to Hoquiam, but it was a pleasant two days. We had done a bunch of primintive camping before we got there so it was really nice to have a full hookup.

Getting into the park was difficult, partly because the GPS took us right into a boat yard nearby. A welder actually helped us get to the entrance of the camp. The road into the camp is tight and the whole feel was such that we were doubting our choices. The check in was efficient but I thought the woman running the office was a bit rude. The sites were normal.

The big benefit was the river walk. Some sites are right on the river or have a view. The land includes a well maintained and deliberate naturalize garden walkway of a decent size. We had dogs with us and really appreciated this option.

Wifi was sporadic and we even had trouble with phone signal not just in the park but the whole town. We use Verizon. We did not use any amenities outside of our camper. We were there on a weekend and there were some partiers, but it was not really raucous.

I did not take any photos of the camp but the ones on their webpage are representative. Photo of the beach area just for fun.

We were here in early August 2023. This is about 20 minutes from Garden of the Gods. Office contact was fine, other visitors were friendly and not a bother. It is shady and quiet, with a nice dog park and lots of options for walking the dogs. The village of Woodland Park is very close with all the basic amenities for groceries, gas, drug store, etc. Between there and Garden of the Gods are several small communities and natural spots to visit. Unfortunately, we did not increase altitude slowly enough and spent one day with altitude sickness. The back end of the camp where we were located was just across a fence from a construction service lot and there was some noise during in the early morning with trucks coming in and out.

Most campsites are right on the water. All have electric a few have water. Great for boating, kids, dogs, hiking nearby. Quiet, good sized lots.

Could use better signage, easy to overshoot the entrance. Shady, quiet, friendly host, everything works. The area is popular for boats and fishing. Unmowed grass makes for lots of chiggers. Playground for kids. We just stayed overnight. No signal, get your directions for leaving before you arrive.

We stayed here in August 2023. I booked this not knowing anything about it and had very low expectations. I mainly just wanted to break up the drive from Estes Park to Grand Teton and give us a day of rest. I probably would have stayed another day if I had known more about it.

Cons- it was a bit of a pain getting into and out of the ranger's station office parking lot and the entrance to the camp abrupt and the roads are small and twisty. Our camp space was cramped. There are no hookups. None of the sites are particularly level, if that bothers you.

Pros-the area on the other side of our camp area was all natural and an excellent view. Many of the sites have direct access to the creek. The vault toilets were clean. Water spigots and dumpsters were fine. The creek, the views, the walking were all excellent. It was pretty quiet. The nature trail is short but lovely. Our dogs were terrorized by the hanging bridge, but it was beautiful. Even though it was very hot during the day, the nights were very cool and pleasant. There was adequate shade.

We were there in August of 2023 and we had never been to Grand Teton or Yellowstone before. We are seniors and have a life time pass, so we did not have to pay to enter the park but I cannot remember if we got a discount on camping or not. Even though all the predictions were that we would have long waits to get in, there was zero wait time at the Southern Gate. We got our reservations in March for August and all the other RV campsites were already booked. It is a long drive between the South Gate and this camp ground. If you want to see some sights on the way in allow extra time, some of the parking for overlooks will accomodate a truck and trailer, some not.

It's shady, roads are well laid out for trailers and large rvs, the site size was adequate. The "resort" includes lodge, cabins, restaurant and ranger station, all pretty walkable from the campsite. There is an outdoor amphiteater with excellent veiws of mountain meadows near the cabins.

Check in was easy and we did use the laundromat on the day that it was rainy. Small camp store in the same building with check in. it was a pleasant option for our dogs as the lanes were walkable and shaded. We mostly saw Grand Tetons from this location. No one was loud and some of the other guests with dogs stopped us to chat. A family with kids were next to us and they were very polite and pleasant.

Grand Teton is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been, even in less than wonderful weather.

We moved on the 4th day to Wagon Wheel in West Yellowstone. On the day we drove through the park from Headwaters, we got to see a lot of the Southern loop of Yellowstone.

We already had a site reserved so we did not need to go to a ranger station, we just checked in with the camp host. The sites are very large with massive picnic table and fire ring. There was a burn ban when we were there. No hookups. Vault toilets, a pump for water. Lovely river with some nature walks, some sites had direct access to the river. The access road has pretty low traffic level, so it was possible to take nice walks on the road itself with our dogs. It is close to I90, which is actually above the camp, so there was highway noise, even at night. I didn't find it bad, but then I usually sleep with ear plugs in a camp ground anyway. Signal was so spotty we entertained ourselves by playing cards and listening to music from usb stick. I don't know if we will ever go that far from home again, but I would definitely stay there if I were in that area.
