“get in touch with nature”
Want to be where the air is fresh and cool and there is scenery galore? Diamond Campground is the place for you. We are located 18 miles west of Colorado Springs in the center of the Pikes Peak Region. Shaded by Ponderosa pines, 8,500 feet above sea level; we offer a quiet, relaxing vacation for you and your family. Big Rigs: We can accommodate rigs of all sizes, from the largest “big rigs” to pop-ups and tents. Just let our friendly staff know, and we will try to find you a site that best fits your needs. We also have three rental RVs available if you prefer to rent a unit. Pets are Welcome: Diamond is a pet friendly park. On most days you will find our staff’s dogs “working” right along side of them. And well-behaved dogs are always welcome in the office and lounge. They may even find a treat waiting for them if their owners approve.

Rustic campground with big and small sites, lots of trees, deer roaming through the campground, and, at 8500’, the weather was cool and wonderful! It is on a state highway so very accessible but there’s some noise especially closer to the road. It’s on a mountain so you will need to level. Very friendly, clean restrooms and nice environment.

Decent park, kinda in town so lot's of noise. We got a space in back, plenty of room for our 30' 5th, got set up and went to town. We boondock for a week or so then pay for a couple of days to dump and fill, power up and use some bandwidth. Problems: no satellite, but that's a trade-off for trees, on our pad the electric and water is all the way to the front, so our cord and hose don't reach, yeah we might have noticed but it's never happened before in any other park, and looking at the other sites ours is the only one like that. Not worth hooking back up and moving then relevel for the two days we're here, we're just going to buy extension hose, and have a cord. The sewer connection is too big for any adapter, they sell the same ones we have in the office but they don't fit. Kind of like a dump station, but they require that you buy a"donut" frrom them, no exceptions. Oh, and the WiFi is not useable. I did manage to get my email but it took a couple of hours of persistent patience. Otherwise, the place is fine. High points: they do take PA, and we picked up a few channels of broadcast. There's decent cell signal here.

Since we didn't stay a week our nightly rate was high. Also, they charge lodging tax as well as normal tax.
Our site was very spacious, which was great as most RVs were packed in! It was meant for rigs 35' or shorter. We have a 36' 5th wheel and there was some overhang at the end of the pad that we were able to utilize to fit the RV into the spot. We did have to do a bit of leveling to the RV. The back jacks were on a few blocks and the front end was super close to the ground as the sites aren't level. We also had to level side to side. But you are basically in the mountains! We had a huge "yard" as we were angled on the end of a row and had a completely separate drive way for our truck. Our rig was backed up perpendicular to another rig. To give you an idea of the site it was a 1/4 pie shaped area. The park was quiet as we were in the back. Lots of kids riding the bikes and having a good time, but I wouldn't say it was ever noisy there.
Cell signal was decent. But the WiFi was hit or miss. Some days I was able to work while on their WiFi and others I couldn't do anything! We ended up using out hotspots most of the week.
There was a level 3 fire ban while we were staying in Woodland Park. Due to that we weren't allowed to use our propane grill and no fires. This is no reflection on the park. I think that they have relaxed the fire ban now.
No cable and no antenna, which was OK because there was a lot of hiking in the area! There are so many gorgeous places to get out and go see. Pikes Peak was only 15 minutes away to the entrance. We drove up! It was intense and totally worth it. Pro tip: they are doing construction at the top and unless you have dogs or maybe baby strollers you will have to stop at mile 16 to get onto a shuttle. We were able to drive to the summit since we had our dogs with us. We went on two hikes: Mule Creek trail was a beautiful 1.9 mile hike along a stream. The girls enjoyed playing the water. We missed the entrance and ended up taking the wrong trail, so we did 3.4 miles. But we realized what we had done and found the trail head. Womens Forest Trail 375 is a 5.4 mile hike. This was a beautiful trail through some hilly fields, in and out of the forest and through some huge rocks. Lots of horse manure. But still a beautiful hike.
The dog park was convenient and we never saw anyone else there. But we know it was being used since there were doggie bags in the can. It was mainly just dirt, but the girls don't care!
We have a washer/dryer combo, so we don't use the laundry facilities or bathrooms. I can't comment on those.

This park was a last resort for us. We like to boondock but ran out of luck. We wound up getting the last RV site in the campground just days before they stopped accepting Passport America in June 2018. We got lucky…sort of.
The campground is nice and clean, and the staff is friendly, but the sites are extremely close together and most are back-in’s with trees on either side. There were lots of other ‘helpers’ around when I was trying to back in. I got in no problem but getting out was difficult. The neighbors across the way don’t have much room for their vehicles, which get in the way of anyone trying to get in or out.
Seems like most people live here seasonally, which is fine, but not much room for the transients, and I feel like they aim to keep it that way.
We had 3 bars Verizon LTE, 50 amp FHUs, and groceries/laundry are 1 mile away. It was helpful in a pinch, but we usually try to avoid places like this and won’t be back unless we’re out of options.

Not a bad campground but had a hard time breathing too many camp fires. Will not go back ever.

We used this campground as a home base to explore the Colorado Springs area. It worked out fine although the sites were a bit close to each other. While the majority of the campground is in a woods setting, we were in the very back where there were houses backing up to the campground. There were a lot of yearly rental folks around us and they were friendly. The one negative I had was that they only gave us the weekly rate for 7 days and charged us the full daily charge for the additional 2 days. While we don't stay at a campground for more than 7 days too often, my experience in the past has been that when you stay for more than 7 days, they give you the weekly rate for the additional days. The campground wifi was a good portion of the time usable for surfing, but they do not allow streaming. We found Verizon to be better than AT&T. Verizon was 12 Mbps DL/4Mbps UL. AT&T was around 3 Mbps DL/1 Mbps UL.

Quiet RV park in the shadows of Pikes Peak. Five minutes from downtown Woodland Park. Fifteen minutes from the entrance to Pikes Peak. 45 minutes from Colorado Springs. Good location if you don’t mind being close to town. Sites are close together, but we enjoyed site 62. Kids loved walking down the short trail to the stage. Friendly staff and very clean.

We stayed here for two weeks while exploring the Colorado Springs area, which turned out to be a good decision as the higher elevation kept temperatures below 90 degrees while Colorado Springs neared 100. And the numerous pine trees in the campground provide a lot of shade over the sites.
All of the campground surfaces (the sites and the road) are packed dirt mixed with gravel, so it gets a little bit muddy when it rains but the ground is solid at all times. The majority of our site (site 11) was level but there was a drop-off near the front that made hooking and unhooking our fifth-wheel tricker than usual. Sites are fairly close together as is typical at a private campground. A lot of the sites - maybe two-thirds - are occupied by long-term residents: seems like the sites closest to the road are the ones reserved for short-term stays. The road noise wasn’t bad. We didn’t make use of the laundry or bathroom facilities.
Just southwest of town is a mountainside adorned with cell towers, so we had decent cellular bandwidth (there’s little to no cell signal on the stretch of US 24 between Colorado Springs and Woodland Park). I got around 14Mbps down and 5Mbps up with my Verizon Jetpack 8800L and a MIMO antenna: we had no trouble streaming TV with those numbers. My AT&T cell phone had 3 bars and 9Mbps down and 8Mbps up.
The campground is about a 3-minute drive from downtown Woodland Park, which has a decent number of places to eat and shop, all under the watchful eye of Pikes Peak. The donuts from The Donut Mill are good but you have to get their early to get a fresh batch.
We would stay here again if we return to the area.

This is a quiet place in a bunch of shady pine trees. Sometimes you think someone is knocking at your door, but is's probably pine cones falling. Everybody was very nice and it is a long term and short term park. It is very dusty so be prepared for that. Also, lots of deer on the property and will get very close to you, they are so nice to see.
