Needed a quick stop heading eastbound on I-10 and this new RV parking area by the fairgrounds fit the bill, didn’t need to level or unhitch. Called ahead and told to pick our spot then walk across street to the Super 8 motel to pay and pick up electrical box key. Neighbors are a mix or travelers and some longer terms workers. Pretty quite after 10pm on a Friday night. Road noise was minimal, but was not expecting too much sandwiched between I-10 and main road through town- pleasantly surprised. All sites are back in.

Fairgrounds next door with community soccer and football field for a walkabout after dinner. Snowflake doughnuts across the street for breakfast- highly recommend their breakfast burritos and doughnut holes.

Adding this one to our list for quick stops out west and the longer back home runs.

Hidden gem. Beautiful Old Growth Pecan Orchard, Level Sites And Golf Couse By The River. This city Rv park is adjacent to the river, city run golf course and driving range. After a long day driving, it was just the break we needed. Very friendly staff runs both facilities and loaned us clubs for the driving range.
On our way out of town, stopped by Oliver Pecan Company for a Pecan Pie and fresh shelled pecans.

Friendly staff helped us quickly check in via phone on a Sunday afternoon. Level sight with easy long pull through so we could stay hitched up for the night. One night stay on our way to Big Bend.area. Simple and efficient, no frills, but level and quieter than expected.
Next morning hit the Daily Grind for coffee and breakfast, then Cactus Books for the best Texas and Western book collection we’ve found, and Twisted Root for cheese burgers. San Angelo offered great places to visit-nice town to add to your list.

Middle of the highway median area looked a little suspect on the map, but pleasantly surprised to find this amazing jewel in the middle of a green space. Very well done and maintained. Be sure to check out the new information center with diorama of Paint Rock pictographs, historical information, and a great Forts of Texas map.

Facilities were extremely clean and easily accessible.
Plenty of room for parking, picnic, and dog walking.
Restrooms, picnic areas, car, large Rv and truck parking, vending machines and lots of security cameras and lights

Very pricey overnight stay, should have kept looking, but had business the next morning, and this was closest Rv park. Very narrow sites with gravel roads and apron that did not handle rainy weather very well. For $113/ night, we expected better condition of the resort.

Last minute reservation while traveling back to TX and needed an overnight stay. We stayed here last summer on our way to WY and again we’re not disappointed. Friendly staff, great mountain and Rotan Pass views.

Only reason a 4 instead of a 5 star review was due to very small spaces. We’re asked to unhook and squeeze our tow vehicle into our spot to allow room in the driveway for bigger rigs exiting. It worked out fine, just some extra work with concerning fit between the utilities and trailer. Seems there are too many rigs for the size of the property. In all fairness, this was a last minute reservation and next time we’ll make a reservation for the limited pull throughs.

Good spot to stay a night or two and explore Wichita. Close to major highways with noticeable 18-wheeler noise at night. Spots are close together and a little pricey, but checked all the boxes and had friendly staff.

We tried the original NuWay burgers on Douglas street. They house make their root beer daily, serve in frozen glass mugs and hand made onion rings and crumbly burgers. Definitely putting NuWay on the list!

Frank Loyd Wright Allen house was closed but the curator let us walk the grounds very cool.

Huge dog park with clean and well maintained space for our two dogs run and play. Beautiful large trees around the well maintained RV park, Clean and sunny pool, family friendly, lots of deer. Friendly staff. Adding this to our top spots to stay for a weekend, or stopover heading out.

Needed a place with full hook ups for the night. Long pull through allowed us to stay hooked up. Happy to find this quick and easy I-80 Rv spot on our drive through to SD. Gravel roads a little rough, but manageable if you go slow. Other RVs parked very close, but quiet and dark with faint distance train sounds at night.
May want to stop at the Golden Spike Tower and see the largest rail yard in the world in action- nice road-trip find!

Second time staying here. Friendly staff, easy access, pet friendly, clean facilities. Our only problem was very low water pressure. We had to fill our tank and use the water pump to get enough pressure for the tankless water heater to kick on. Site C8. This may not be a problem at other sites and wasn’t an issue on our last trip.

Park was full for spring break but was quite and had a safe friendly feel. Great sky views and easy access to nearby towns- used this as our base camp to visit Big Bend, Ft. Davis, Marathon and Marfa. We didn’t use the RV wash station, but others had signed up at the office and it looked like a good setup with long concrete pad and hoses.

Evening walk around the park with beautiful night skies and wild turkeys gobbling, later in the evening heard hoot owls. Very cool place, would had been 5 stars except for the water pressure issue. Will stay here again
