Stayed here 8/5/23. Easy access to the location and they had spots just for RVs behind their building. Prices were good and they had a five dollar “buy an extra meal” special. Two other RVs there is the night I was there. Felt safe.

I stayed 8/6 to 8/13. Beautiful grass covered spaces with a clean restroom/shower house. Town is only 1 1/2 miles away and has a variety of restaurants and stores. There’s even a planet fitness in town. There were only a few other campers. Electric/water sites were $25/night. Dry camping was $10/night. IN taxes get added. Near as I can figure it was about 11% tax. The fairgrounds is a convenient location for seeing various attractions in the area like Indiana Dunes NP and things in South Bend.

I stayed here 5/24 to 6/7. Great views with some wildlife. Overnighters coming and going but for the most part I was alone. Easy access up a paved road to a large flat area that can accommodate several rigs big or small. 30 miles to Moab, easy drive, and didn’t have to deal with dirt roads/potholes of BLM land closer in. Ballard RV Park has showers ($5), dump station ($11), and water ($6). Gas station at the freeway exit.

I stayed here the night of 10/31. Got there just before the office closed. The couple was very nice. The park was about half full but I didn’t see anybody that evening or the next morning before I left. Bathrooms were very clean.

I called them this morning (10/21/23) to confirm price of camping and was told they no longer except individuals for camp spots. You’re only allowed to camp there if you’re part of an event and large group.

I arrived about 5 PM (well before dark) today 7/15/23. A big plaque with rules as you walk into the building clearly states no overnight camping even though the next rule down says 24 hours max. It would probably be ok if I’d arrived after dark, but I didn’t feel comfortable staying for the night. Use your own judgment to stay or not.
I stayed here 9/25 to 9/28 (3 nights). No showers but very clean bathrooms. Campsites provide a lot of privacy and there are hiking trails nearby. Close to the town of Winter Harbor and a ferry ride away from Bar Harbor. The road around the Schoodic peninsula has lots of pull outs to stop and admire the view. It was great camping after Labor Day when it was less crowded.

I overnighted here on 5/15/23 with a 26 foot TT pulled by a pick up truck. There was a good spot a 1/4 mile from NV164 - almost no road noise, but a lot of shell casings from bullets on the ground. Even with that I felt completely safe. I must’ve hit a pothole as I passed over the cattleguard near the entrance to Wee Thump rd and it took off the base of my hitch post. I found it in the dirt at the cattleguard the next morning as I left. I’d stay here again, but would be very careful going over that cattleguard.

I stayed here 11/4/23 and 11/5/23. My site was very nice. Each bathroom has a shower in it, and they were very clean. The whole park was well kept. Teri called me that morning to make sure she would be there to greet me when I arrived so that if I had any questions she could answer them. Every Saturday they have a get together in the pavilion for campers. The park is in easy reach to see the sights of San Antonio, and the area around the lake is nice for walking.

I stayed overnight 8/24. Laundry prices are very good ($2/wash, $1.50/dry). The shower room has a nice place to put your stuff while you shower. Pull-through gravel site was level. The whole campground is very clean and quiet. The staff I met were nice. The only bad thing is the two roads leading into the campground are narrow.
