Confirmed by 11 users | Last reported on April 27, 2024We stopped here for the night on a weekend. This location wasn't far from the I-70 and you could hear some noise but wasn't bad. Especially when it's free!
It seems like it was paved at some point but nature has reclaimed some areas.
We arrived early in the evening and we were the only ones there. Early the next morning, there was 2 other SUVs parked in the area but none bothered us and they were not close enough to be bothersome. It was nice spot for a night and could have worked for a few nights. It's scenic as well. I hear pronghorns are present in the area but saw none.

Heading from Moab to Denver & this was a super easy (30 seconds off the I-70 on a paved road) place to spend the night. Could hear the interstate, but it was more like a background noise than actual noise. Was a family of deers that spent most of the evening and next morning staring at us from a distance, but other than that we were alone. Just a open gravel space, so if it was busy you wouldn’t have privacy, but you would have to have about a dozen rigs for it to be busy & I don’t see that happening. Beautiful sunrise and sunset.

Right off interstate which means some road noise not bad. Got in late and didn’t want to try the dispersed further south in the dark. We were only ones here on a Friday in September. Saw some antelope in the morning hanging out with us. Great stars. Perfect for a stop over.

Staying here tonight on Friday, October 9. Temperature at 6 pm about 78 deg. Overnight low expected 55 deg. As I had been boondocking for last 8 days in two different locations I had hoped to get a paid site around Grand Junction CO so I could do laundry. But all the places with recent reviews booked. So I will stay here tonight and do some more research. Ballard RV Park is just north of I-70 and I did not callthem. Maybe tomorrow. This BLM location is as others have said. Large area, mostly flat. I do not unhitch, just jack up a bit while coupled. All leveled.

Parked in large gravel lot 1 minute off of I70 ramp. 2 others here, room for 2 more. Fairly level. Took ride out smooth dirt/ gravel road, multiple other pullouts with a group site for 3-5 2.5 miles in. Good clearance Very big rig friendly 41’ toyhauler 5th wheel

Tons of space to spread out. Only 2 or 3 one night visitors showed up, but they were hundreds of yards away. Exactly what I was looking for.

We weren’t sure of road quality with our 40’ 5th wheel so picked the first spot close off of the hwy. Other reviews said the hwy was like a “white noise”… this was an incredible understatement. Don’t plan to stay in the first large spot if hwy noise bothers you. Great views though. We drove back further and the road wasn’t too bad and there are some incredible spots with views to be had ~3.5mi back in. If it rained though, there may be problems.

We both had service (TMobile + Verizon). Great views, and easy road getting in. I’m in an SUV, but have seen big rigs pulling through too. We drove a little bit past where the map takes you (maybe a mile) and took the first left into a great little spot where you can see the mountains! Fire pit already there :) VERY little highway noise.
