Staff completely uninterested in transients. Had to ask for Wi-Fi code. Dumpsters were overflowing. Sites were open, tight together and a long way from the bathhouse. Changed our site three times before we arrived. Traffic on I70 roared by all night.

Closest park to Badlands that has any shade. Professional staff with clean, well maintained facilities. Unfortunately we got stuck in a pull through site too close to the septic—unpleasant odors. Would be great with a site farther back.

We stayed three nights to do the Mickelson Trail and meet up with friends in Custer. Facilities were nice and clean. Only downside was noise from main Highway—trucks downshifting to go up or down the grade. Would choose site other than the section close to the road. Interesting old buildings—former stage coach stop.

We used the site as a one night stopover on our way back home. It’s a good 17 miles from the main roads, so not ideal. Limited number of RV sites and we booked late, so ended up parking next to a tent site and plugging in. RV sites were nice. Facility clean, but only one shower/toilet combo (one for men, one for women). Taking a shower meant tying up the toilet for others. Lots of history at the site if you have time.

This is a very well oiled operation, mix of permanents and transients. Wide variety of site options. Very clean facilities. Bike and canoe rentals for the river and trails. Easy drive or bike ride into Lanesboro. Only downside was with the A sites placement of water sources. Often not close to electric, so hose or cord length was a challenge. Didn’t seem to be the case with other areas of the campground.

We stopped for,the night on our way home. Easy access. Level site, but VERY tight. Picnic table was adjacent to the next sit hook ups. No fire pit, etc. Almost all permanents, no one was outside their RVs. Good, clean facilities. Easy access dump station. WiFi was very spotty.

Right on the Missouri River with trails by the river. Lots of different types of sites. Ours was back in right up to the river. Facilities are clean and well maintained, like most SD parks. Sites are electric only. Water and dump station available.

We arrived on Sunday, the day after their annual Harvest Festival. Unfortunately the staff took the day off and they were closed on Monday, so we didn’t get to take the full tour. Beautiful setting, fort buildings are very well preserved. Bath/shower facilities are in the restored stable. Campsites are just OK, can be buggy. Long drive from the main highway, but worth it. Check to make sure the historic site is open when you’re there
