“Only 4 miles from Badlands National Park”
Welcome to our oasis of the Badlands! This remote and beautiful KOA is just 5 miles from Badlands National Park. The rugged beauty of the Badlands includes a rich fossil bed and the nation's largest protected mixed-grass prairie, where you will find bison, bighorn sheep, pronghorn antelope, mule deer and prairie dogs. Some of the darkest skies in North America await stargazers, and opportunities for photography and hiking abound. The campground is in a quiet rural setting with hundreds of large shade trees beside the White River. The store is open to guests from May 1 thru Oct 1. We have all the usual amenities, including RV supplies, groceries and gifts. The cook shack is open for breakfast and dinner from May 19 through Labor Day weekend, check with Guest Services for hours of operation. Our swimming pool is open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.Max pull thru: 120 feet. Best WiFi we have experienced at a park, important because of very poor cell coverage. Sites are very basic, with gravel and sparse grass, and mature trees. Amenities are nice, such as cable, a small cafe, fairly nice dog park. There is no grocery close by, so shop before coming here. The store here offers basic needs but in general is overpriced. One small gas station about three miles away, and a couple of small local interesting looking bars (decided to pass on them).
It is in the middle of Badlands!! Stars!!!! White River hiking! loved my 5 days here. My family and dogs had a blast.
They were doing a lot of construction, and there had been a lot of rain before we got there, but for us it was pretty miserable. It was muddy and dirty and the pool was freezing and unappealing. After staying at a far superior Yogi Bear Campground, this really paled in comparison.
Camp grounds are conveniently large but Wireless Internet is DSL service broadcast over WiFi. Very slow connection. The grounds themselves are very nice and the facilities such as showers are nice although they can be nicer.
So many Mosquitos! Quiet campground, no cell reception here, but free wifi.
We stayed at this campground twice. We love it here. Very close to Badlands NP, and we get 4 bars on Verizon cell service. Sites are level and shaded.
Very nice KOA. The sights were well shaded and roomier than others we have stayed at. Staff were so nice. They have a well stocked store and great wi-fi.
Great place. Large dog park, nice shade trees. You can see some of the badlands from here.
Far to expensive for the amenities provided. Small and cramped site, unable to use pool and WiFi did not work
Nice campground, bathrooms were clean, but could use some updating. Getting cell reception was a nightmare here. WI-FI was slow, but that didn't bother us much. I was surprised that there was no bugs or mosquitoes - we didn't even have to use bug spray! Very close to Badlands National Park, which was great!
