Visited here for the first time since over 30 years ago when we tented as parents without kids. This campground was so clean, grass sites were plush, level and well taken care of and the staff was so helpful and kind.

This is a very well oiled operation, mix of permanents and transients. Wide variety of site options. Very clean facilities. Bike and canoe rentals for the river and trails. Easy drive or bike ride into Lanesboro. Only downside was with the A sites placement of water sources. Often not close to electric, so hose or cord length was a challenge. Didn’t seem to be the case with other areas of the campground.

We went camping at Eagle Cliff mid October, and it was still decently busy even considering the time of year. With that in mind, we are guessing that it would be a very busy and loud establishment during peak season. They have multiple playgrounds, they are right off the Root River and they are only 5 minutes from Lanesboro. They are very well established and even have motel-style stays on site. They have bicycles and kayaks/canoe shuttles to rent and reserve through the office. Their bathrooms are the nicest I have ever seen at a campground. The showers do cost money and if you like a very hot shower they wont be as comfortable for you. 3 quarters gets you 12 minutes. According to the camp schedule they have events almost every weekend of the summer, including DJ's, concerts and kids events. They also have what looks like an indoor event center on site with a bar called the Eagles Nest. They have access to the Root River paves trail system, which is a lot of fun with over 60 miles of paved trail through a few South East Minnesota towns. For and electric and water site we payed about $40 a night. Dump station on site and although it is a very large campground it is easily accessible from the highway.

Nice campground with big pull throughs. The bathrooms were immaculate, and the staff was great. The views were amazing and playgrounds well maintained.
