We just stayed here for one night on our way to the Badlands, but could easily have stayed longer. The park is located along the eastern bank of the Missouri River / Lake Francis Case, and offers some of the nicest camping facilities we've seen in a while. Camping sites are very large, paved, and generally pretty level. Site separation and privacy is unusually good. The premier sites are the waterfront sites, but the interior sites are really lovely as well, with wide sweeping lawns and trees and flowering shrubs separating the sites. Sites are electric only, with potable water available throughout the campground. The bathhouse is exceptionally clean and modern, with nice hot water for the showers. FYI, the dump station is on the north side of 44, while the two sections of campsites are on the south side. Traffic was minimal during our visit so it was no challenge to get to the north side if needed.
The main attractions of the park are related to the water. There's a really nice beach area for swimming, which is within an easy walk from all areas of the campground, along with ample picnic areas, playgrounds, etc. Fishing is the main attraction here, with many campers having boats, and the park offering fish cleaning stations. The park also has a concession area with a restaurant, which we did not visit. Gas and groceries are available in Platte, located about 15 miles east of the park along 44.
After a day of driving across South Dakota, this park was just a lovely oasis of water views, birds, and lush landscaping. Internet service was also great, with three bars of LTE service on AT&T! Download: 10.07 Mbps Upload: 4.32 Mbps
My only criticism would be that if you are not into fishing or water activities, then there may be limited entertainment. We didn't find any good hiking in the immediate vicinity.

There are some nice sites right on Lake Francis Case. A fairly large park and definitely geared for those folks who plan on doing lake activities. Note that many of the sites can be challenging to get your rig level. There are very few pull-through sites and they are hard put to be called such. We needed to pull through site 42 in order to park in site 44 and I was unable to use the slide on the road side. If this hadn't been just a stopover, I would have taken the time to unhook and use one of the back-in sites.

This is a beautiful campground. We were here on a Sunday night in early October and only saw a handful of other campers in the 100 plus sites. The comfort station was still open and clean, The showers had water, but it didn’t get hot. Many sites were on the Missouri River and many others had views. Some distant road noise. The reason we would not stay here again is the high price. There is not a discount for tents or non electric use. It was $21 for the site, plus $7.70 for out of state, plus tax (about $1.30) plus $6 state park license (daily rate). ($30 for annual.). It would probably be a good rate for electric hook up in an RV, but not for us. Many large back in sites, but not real level although they are paved. I would imagine in summer it would be very busy because the Missouri River would offer fishing and boating. I saw somewhere they also have a swimming beach.

This was a beautiful spot! We had only electric which was fine. We dumped before we left the next day. There was a perfect mowed path to take us to the water which was a dream! The river is gorgeous! Around dinner time we tried to eat and prepare food outside and couldn’t do it. Hard to enjoy something from inside our motor home because of the flies.

Great spot on the Missouri River! This is a great campsite with some of the largest open campsites I’ve ever encountered. Good shade trees with still fantastic views right on the Missouri River looking across the water. The only downside I could possibly say is that there is not water and sewer right at your campsite. There is a dump as well as water available but you have to move your unit. Cannot recommend it enough. Great bargain for the price. We would absolutely stay here again.

Right on the Missouri River with trails by the river. Lots of different types of sites. Ours was back in right up to the river. Facilities are clean and well maintained, like most SD parks. Sites are electric only. Water and dump station available.

We loved our stay here! We were the only ones in our area and it honestly felt like we had the entire park to ourselves.
Check-in was easy due to their online booking feature. We did end up buying the South Dakota Annual Park pass because they do charge for entry/parking.
The spots are back-in but the way the roads are set up, it makes it extremely easy. The sites are gravel and we didn't need to level.
There's a playground, basketball court, access to the water, and even a hiking trail all on the property!
There wasn't any fresh water or dumping amenities at our site but we ended up going across the street for that.

We debated whether to keep driving a couple more hours or stop. So glad we stopped and they had availability. Loved seeing all the young families. Decided to extend our stay an additional night and luckily they had a site available. Watch your kids and pets for ticks. We will definitely be back in the Fall so I bought a year park pass instead of multiple daily ones for $8.
Flys were bad but it is camping after all.

Went to a different campground on the way from Badlands and it was so ugly so we found this beauty. Barely anyone here - end of October A little road noise on the close to lake spots but so nice. It was windy so we moved a little farther away and much better. Lots of trees and grass. No host free I guess.

Lovely Campground And pretty Quiet. Sites Could Be More Level. Shower Had Decent Pressure But Barely Was Lukewarm. I’d Rather Pay For A Hot Shower Than Have A Free Cold Shower. I Imagine They Don’t Want It Hot So As To Discourage Long Showers (don’t Blame Them!), But Again I’d Rather Pay By The Minute.
