Unique experience.... reservation, confirmation, and check-in info all done online and via email. No manager on-site, no camp host. However, it all worked fine, and with only 7 sites: it kinda makes sense. The site was perfectly level concrete. Plenty long enough for my 34' bumper tow, and truck to fit. Full hookup, and wifi worked very well. Each site has a half picknic table (bench only on one side). No fire rings. We arrived the day after Christmas with temps in the 50's... Mosquitos were out in mass, although they weren't as bad during the day! The surf is maybe 40 yards from the back of our site... with the intra-coastal canal 150 yards on the other side. It's around 25 miles to the closest WalMart, and H.E.B. grocery store in Bay City. If you want seclusion.... this is the place. It is exactly what we had hoped for. We'll be back.

We pulled through to the rest area to a gravel lot in the back.... Probably three or four acres. There are some small trees with picnic tables along one edge... so we backed our travel trailer up to the one in the back. One other class A motor home showed up while we were there, and that was it. There is water available, and a dump station. No other hook ups or amenities... .but it was a very restful place for the night.
I read all the reviews before we arrived, and now that I have been here: I can say that they are all true. The site was unlevel, the grounds were a bit unkept, and the cable TV and WiFi were poor. (Especially the cable) However... all that being said: The folks we camped next to, and the people at the front desk were as nice as any I have encountered. The access to the river is great... We fished (didn't catch anything) and walked the numerous trails... took pictures of hawks, axis deer, and whitetail deer. The river is really nice, and the proximity to town is convenient. When you compare to the other larger RV Resorts in the area this is very quiet and low key. If we come back this way we will consider staying here again. AT&T Cell phone reception was very good!

Called at the last minute, and was able to get a spot. The sites were grass/gravel and the cable television hookup at our site was damaged, so we didn't even try. Our picnic table was about half rotten, and the barbecue pit was full of cigarette butts. However, the power worked fine, we had full hookups and the water pressure was decent. All we were looking for was a place for the night, and it worked fine for that. I'd stop here again if I found myself in the same situation.

We booked this last minute as we were headed south out of Jackson. Barry gave us great directions over the phone and we arrived at 7:30. He was waiting at the entrance as promised and led us to our pull-thru site. We didn't ask for a lakeside back-in site, since we are only here on night... However after seeing the private fishing lake (no license required) it would have been nice. Our gravel site was level, and full hook-up. Our neighbor was fairly close, but not uncomfortably so. We had good AT&T cell signal, and picked up 20 or so OTA television stations. We'd definitely stay here again, but would prefer to allow time to check out the fishing ponds. Rate was $40, but I got 10% off as a military veteran.

The sites are gravel but ours was perfectly level. Full hook ups and a fire ring, although there was a burn ban when we were there. There’s also free firewood when fires are allowed. The folks here are very friendly and helpful and the grounds are maintained very well. AT&T had no cell service here even with my booster. There is an off-network service available but it is iffy. The wifi service here at the campground was hit and miss. It worked better at times and not so good at other times. We have been planning on coming here for a year or two and we’re definitely not disappointed. We would certainly come back.

We had this site recommended to us by a fellow camper a few years ago. When the state closed the state parks earlier this year: we gave them a call. Glad we did!
We had a back in site on the river. No leveling was required, full hookups all worked great. We were guided to our site by friendly staff... and enjoyed all interactions with them. The area is stunning... and falling asleep to the sound of the river aint bad either...
My AT&T cell was roaming, and wifi access was a big tough.... But that's not a deal breaker...
We will be back...

We originally planned just a stopover at this park, but ended up staying for two nights. The owners live on site, and really do a great job of maintaining the grounds. The sites were gravel, and required no leveling and thick green grass is well kept between sites. The laundry room is spotless and all washers and dryers were in great working order. There is plenty of room to navigate internally. There is a crystal clear stream running thru the middle of the park, which adds to the scenery.
We’d come back here any time we were within 100 miles and in need of a stopping place. Be sure and stop by Sparky’s Garage for a burger (recommended by the park owner), the food is great. Dillon is a neat town!!!

We happened upon this place while exploring from nearby Red River. We immediately went back and got our camper and claimed a spot here (first come, first served). It is dry camping for sure... water is available, but there is no dump station. We ended up in spot 13 at Little Arsenic. The view of the gorge is great. It does warm up into the 80s during the day, but the nights are nice and cool. Mosquitos are minimal, but there are biting flies. However the site is fairly level, and there is a very nice covered picnic table, and pit toilets are nearby.
My AT&T signal was spotty, but I am currently posting this from my hotspot at my camp site without using a signal booster. I also have a WeBoost cell booster, and it it work fine from here.
We plan to come back, but maybe in May or late September, to avoid the insects and enjoy cooler daytime temps. It's not too hot here now, but when you factor in the heat, and insect repellant: multiple showers are are a must... Then when you consider that the closes place to legally dump your gray tank is 15 miles away.... you kinda get the picture.
There is a nice visitor center open on the weekends and multiple hiking trails. I definitely recommend it for folks who like to dry camp. We were able to pick up several OTA television stations, and running one AC unit with our generators was more than adequate.

We arrived last night around dark. Our reservation was a pull thru with full hookups. No attendant was on duty, but we had pre-registered online, and had no problem driving straight to our site, following the well placed signs. The sit had a little slope to it but no real challenge getting level. All connections were well placed so no extra hoses or cords were needed at all. Numerous over-the-air tv stations are available and my AT&T phone has 3 bars of 5G signal.
This is a nice park with plenty of nice sites for campers and tenters. I would recommend it, and we would definitely return.
Bucee’s, HEB, and WalMart are nearby… what else could you need?
