Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on August 11, 2020Due to Covid 19 rules, no amenities were available, and no Management or host was on duty during check in, or any other time. Park was clean, including rest rooms, which were open, warm and had music piped in.. Roads to the sites are narrow and some are rough. Sites are gravel and very un-level. We have a class A w/ toad and had to go around a couple of times to find the levelest area of the site. Electric, water and sewer are good, but cable TV connection didn't work. The park was fairly quiet during the night, and we had windows open.
Our site was long enough to accommodate our 34' rig with a Jeep with room to spare, so we didn't have to unhook. However, the utilities were pretty far away. You'll need that extra sewer hose. We would stay here again if passing through. Maybe next time the State will allow them to provide the other amenities, thus the lower rating.

RV park off the main road with a Love's truck stop nearby. We used a tent site for our rooftop tent, there were only 2 other tents so we were able to spread out for some privacy. There were several RV's and more came in later at night but no one was noisy. They have a fenced dog run, horse motel, small playground and clean restrooms. The restrooms had 3 stalls and 3 shower stalls that had a bench and several hooks, which was nice, along with horse decals and music being played in the restroom. There is a road to the side of the campground that had some road noise and it's a small town with trains that pass through. I only remember hearing the train till about 10pm so I must have been tired or there were no more trains! This campground did have some trees around the perimeter and we passed Coyote Keeth's the next morning and it's in the wide open plains, I'm sure they get plenty of wind.

Clayton RV Park is a nice easy place to stop, especially if it’s just for the night! They have lots of pull-through sites that are plenty long and decently level (with our 30 ft travel trailer and F-150 we didn’t need to bother unhitching). There‘s plenty of light around the shower / bathrooms but the rest is a bit dark (lots of stars on clear nights)! We didn’t use the WiFi much but it seemed decent and there’s plenty of cell service. Our site didn’t have cable or sewer hookups but we’ve always just stayed for a single night and it was only 100’ from the bathrooms anyways! The bathrooms seem a bit older but are in good shape and always clean (even had classic 70’s satellite radio playing for a relaxing shower)! There’s a fun playground with kids most weekends and plenty of dog walking area! The owners and the other RVers have always been nice and for the price you really can’t beat it! It’s easy access, very cheap, and fairly quiet (except when a train comes through but good luck finding anywhere in the area that’s out of earshot of trains)! For us it’s a perfect stop, coming or going, between Amarillo and somewhere west (usually Colorado)!

Nice and safe spot with all amenities I needed for a one night stop. Manager was friendly and accommodating. Some "wild" cats were at the site, looking for petting. Would definitely stop there again.

This is an old, very old KOA that broke away from the franchise many years ago. The main office is a Swiss chalet building and many KOA type signs dot the campground. When I was there in early April 40% of the sites were closed. I finally found one that was sort of level and had sewer, electric and water hookups. The twin tire paths through short grass had a sprinkling of gravel from long ago. It is big rig friendly.
The campground has many trees and is set on the down side of a gentle hill. The wind blew constantly and sometimes shook the trailer.
The bathrooms are clean but ancient KOA and sorely need remodeling. The shower heads died a long time ago and were replaced with cheap plastic ones that cannot be easily angled. The water was hot though and the bathroom was always warm. The recreation room had a pool table, some plants, two broken large clothes dryers and a large assortment of trashy, paperback romance novels. A very friendly cat called this home and had his litter box and food centrally situated.
Two good washers and smaller dryers were in the adjoining room and worked well at a reasonable price.
Wifi is available but incredibly slow when it functioned at all. I used my cell phone as a hot spot and that was fine.
Clayton is full of crumbling buildings, abandoned homes, boarded up store fronts and barred windows. But it is relatively better off compared to so many rural towns that dot the western blue states landscape. A few businesses were still open and operating including the Love's Gas Station a three blocks away. They were hiring and the pay was $13.00 an hour. The government buildings, schools, court house, etc were the finest in town. Likewise the Police cars were clean, new and well outfitted. They stood in stark contrast to the less than modest homes people lived in and the older, well worn vehicles they drove.
The adjoining roads carried little traffic and the trees helped absorb the noise.
The campground felt safe but that may have been a mirage. I was happy to leave.

Called at the last minute, and was able to get a spot. The sites were grass/gravel and the cable television hookup at our site was damaged, so we didn't even try. Our picnic table was about half rotten, and the barbecue pit was full of cigarette butts. However, the power worked fine, we had full hookups and the water pressure was decent. All we were looking for was a place for the night, and it worked fine for that. I'd stop here again if I found myself in the same situation.

Long pull through sites that are spread out a little. All hook ups worked fine. Call early, I don’t think they take calls after 6pm. Clean, safe, quiet, and decent. Helpful staff.

Older park that you need to carefully pick a LEVEL site. If you arrive after 5-5:30 it is a self ck in and find your own site (honor system).
Good Sam disc price is $29.00.
We felt safe. It is easy off and on for a one nighter.

I don’t know how this place received 4 stars, it’s an old KOA that has been seriously neglected. Cigarette butts and dog poop everywhere. They did have Wi-Fi, electricity, water and sewer, but $34 was really steep for this dump! The only nice thing I can say is there’s a beautiful brand new Valero gas station a few blocks away.

Thank goodness we bring a weed eater with us. Grass was long due to rains however everything was dry. Husband trimmed up the area. No laundry facilities due to a fire last year. Lots are long pull through sites but not well taken care of. Only stayed a night.
