The site is actually located 5 miles the other side of independence.

Despite growing up in the California educational system, this wasn’t something we covered in school. It should have been. It’s a lesson from history we all need to remember.

There is a free museum at the hub. You can see the cables from all 4 lines as they pass through the building as well as several exhibits showing the history and how they work

A small exhibit about a very important part of our history. Take a few minutes to stop by. The chamber of commerce also has information on all the local attractions.

Great little museum. Attached to the chamber of commerce. It contains local history, baskets, pottery, and minerals, as well as a great exhibit on uranium mining and self guided mine tour.

Sadly the foundry isn’t currently operating, but the gallery is open as are the gardens.
