The campground itself isn’t much to write home about—just a gravel parking lot with zero landscaping. However, the park it sits in is fantastic. It’s surrounded by beautiful mountains and a river runs through it with really cool man made rock seating areas along its banks. It’s walking distance to town, which is super cute, and about a mile from great single track. We really dug the town, the people and the whole vibe! Would definitely recommend!
We stayed for 2 1/2 months on the front row. We had extensions for our electric, water and sewage cords/hoses so we were able to position our door facing the mountains — which created a nice, semi-private little patio for ourselves. The views of the fields and mountains our stunning! The proximity to Ridgway is great — just a few miles and you can take a less traveled, scenic back road into town easily by bike. The owners are super nice and are working really hard to renovate the campground and maximize its full potential. The bathhouse and laundry are clean and modern. And there’s a cool outdoor kitchen and fire pit that all campers can use. The club house is one of the nicest I’ve ever been in and I enjoyed using it as a remote office. Oh, and free firewood! How cool is that?!
A few downsides...the system for checking in can be a bit confusing as there is no real manned desk or office — you just text or call the owners. There are a lot of full-timers (all super nice) and a handful of run down trailers. There are is also a decent amount of scraps, junk, old cars, etc. tucked in places which isn’t super pretty. Sites up top our really cramped. I recommend a spot on the bottom/front row.
When the owners are finished remodeling this guy it will be fantastic!

This isn’t where you come for vacation but it’s perfect for an overnight stop! The staff was friendly, responsive and making our reservation was easy. Park is right off the interstate, well maintained and full of flat, pull though sites. Clean, private bathrooms with good water pressure. Great price too!

Sometimes the website looks nicer than it really is...this was the case here for me. The actual campground is nicely wooded and the sites are pretty. There are lots of seasonal campers here and the facility is pretty run down. I found a cigarette butt and used tampon in the showers. The showers are coin operated and overall pretty gross (see last sentence). Don’t think they clean them very often. The surrounding area was underwhelming and Salisbury beach was equally disappointing. Kinda felt like a dirty jersey shore. Overall, I definitely didn’t feel like it was a $45 a night value and was glad we only had to stay a week. The silver lining? Newburyport in near by and its FREAKIN FABULOUS! Wished we would have found it sooner!

We arrived late and left mid-morning so we didn’t get to experience all the park had to offer…but we loved what we did experience. The park is situated at the end of a very nice neighborhood and felt very safe. Online booking was super easy and has photos of each site. We called an after hours number when we arrived and they gave us a code to the gate. Sites are paved, manicured and nicely spaced so you don’t feel on top of your neighbor. Many sites have a patio area overlooking the lake. The lake is small but gorgeous with a walking path and beach. And you’re close to restaurants, coffee shops and groceries. There’s also supposed to be some great mountain bike trails…which we didn’t get to ride. We would definitely stop again. It’s made our list of great stop-overs as we travel cross country.

Amazing beach (1 mile from campground) with gorgeous dunes! Campground has a free trolley to take you to the beach every hour. Large, clean laundry facilities. There is a COFFEE SHOP!!!! I repeat COFFEE SHOP in a state park! They also sell pastries and craft beer. Park is right along a bike path that you can ride into town. Fantastic restaurants in town. Can’t really think of any negatives here.

Really enjoyed our stay at Coachland and would definitely return!
Pros:
- Under new management and they are fantastic! Kind, thoughtful, fair and truly looking to make your stay positive. Booking our stay and check-in was easy peasy. They even let us switch our site to one we liked better upon arrival.
- Fantastic club house with free coffee and breakfast on Saturday mornings
- Convenient location to ski mountains, downtown Truckee and Camp 1 gym
- Great little on-site gym with 24/7 access
- Beautiful, giant pines throughout the park
Cons:
- Bathrooms weren’t the cleanest…mostly just people tracking in mud and snow from outside
- Sites are pretty close together so selecting your site carefully is key
- Clubhouse closes at around 4:30pm daily…wished it would have stayed open later

Campground is basically gravel lots that stair step up the side of the mountain. The sites are tightly packed with just a railroad tie between the sites. There are trees surrounding the park which is really pretty. Cute little dog run and nice bathrooms. Campground is close to town and has a trolley that runs every hour until midnight....at least that’s the last time we heard it drive through with a group bar crawlers :-) Campground was great for a night. Definitely wouldn’t stay longer.

I can't really say enough good things about this place! It's awesome.
Pros:
• Super large, pull through sites have camper doors facing the woods instead of the road, which provides a more private feel to all the campsites (I've never seen another park set up this way, it was cool)
• Beautiful trails with historic sites and overlook towers that you can bike or walk
• Close to a great grocery with a killer wine selection
• Golf cart community near by, so you see golf cart parking at the stores and golf carts paths next to the roads which is fun
• Super clean bathhouse
• Close to Savannah, GA
• Cell signal was good
Cons:
• A bit expensive (we were lucky and got a Memorial Day 50% discount)
