We were supposed to stay here back in November, but RV repairs caused us to cancel. My husband was very interested in staying here, so we took the opportunity on our way North. To say this is remote is an understatement, as others have said, it is out there! The campground is nice, with lots of tall trees that provide shade and block satellites, but don't give much privacy. One interesting thing, the campground loop is two lanes, so the inside pull thrus are very nice since they don't face the road.

When we hooked up we had problems with the 50amp, so we switched to 30amp. We informed the volunteer at the gate and he reported it, but didn't expect anyone to show up until the next day, which was fine. The next morning a nice man showed up and replaced the 50amp breaker in an absolute downpour! I didn't think anyone would even show with how bad the weather was, but he showed up and fixed our problem.

The restrooms were very clean, but the showers only have a single shower curtain, so they didn't feel too private. It's been quiet here, I never had anyone else in the bathhouse while I was showering, so it wasn't too bad. There is a laundry in the bathhouse, it always seemed to be in use as I walked by. There was one washer/dryer and it looked like it was $1.00 each.

If you don't boat/fish, there isn't much out here. The museum is closed until further notice, so we didn't get to visit. This is a great place to chill out and enjoy a good campfire, we bought $15 worth of wood from the country store 8 miles down the road.

We had no AT&T signal at the campsite, but we could get 2 bars and LTE by the museum. Our Verizon worked ok with our booster.

This state park is located on A1A, which runs mostly along the ocean in Florida, in the city of Flagler Beach. There are two campgrounds, ocean side and river side, we stayed in the river side. This is a relatively new campground and is quite nice, but very open, not many trees between campsites. Our campsite backed up to the intracoastal waterway, but we didn't have much of a water view, due to the vegetation. Still, we could see some boats passing by.

The riverside sites were mostly large, back-in sites. We had no problem backing in and we had a side area for our picnic table and fire ring. Sites are gravel with 50 amp and water, but we noticed a couple paved sites that had sewer. I'm not sure if they were handicapped or for hosts. The bathhouse was new and very clean, with 2 washer and dryers. We had no problem with satellite, I doubt anyone would, and we had good AT&T coverage.

The riverside has several tent sites that I thought were very nice, nestled in the trees with lots of shade and privacy. I'm not a tenter, but they looked more comfortable than in direct sunlight.

The park has a short hiking trail, lots of pavilions and a boat ramp. Everyone was very nice, we participated in the gopher tortoise day celebration and the night sky/full moon program. Both were enjoyable and educational.

We spent a little time on the beachside with friends and the campground there is very open with sites that are wide and shallow. You really can't see the ocean from the sites due to the dune and vegetation, but you have easy access (at the time we were there only one crossover was open because of hurricane damage) and you can sleep to the sound of the waves.

The town of Flagler Beach is small, but has some nice restaurants and a Sunday farmers market. Publix is fairly close if you need supplies.

If you have a big rig, a couple of warnings. While the campground loop is very easy, the entrance to the park is a little tight (coming from the north) and the gate is almost immediately after you turn in. Also, as noted in other reviews, when coming from the south, the GPS will try to route you through some areas with low trees. Opt to exit I95 at exit 284, no trees to worry about, but the right hand turn onto A1A is tight, our 5ver went over the curb.

We really enjoyed our stay and the surrounding area, so we will definitely visit again.

We read the reviews on rvparksreviews.com and thought this would be a good stop on our way North. We were very surprised when we arrived. The sites are paved and have full hookups, so that is good. The sites closest and furthest from the river are back ins and the middle ones are pull thru. Some are under trees, others are not, the trees are mostly tall pines, so don't offer any privacy but will block satellites. We opted for one not under the trees and selected a back in closest to the river, one of two available (I don't think any pull thrus were available). The pad is fairly wide, but there is a concrete picnic table on it, so it was tight for us, we were pretty close to the edge of the pad and we couldn't walk between the table and the slide. The pull thru's and the older back in's have a little more room with their tables off the RV pad on it's own pad.

When we were setting up a neighbor let us know that we should make sure our bicycles on the back of our RV were locked up, since people going to the fishing pier drive behind us at all hours. We had to be careful our bikes didn't stick out in the road, but we didn't have any problems with anyone messing with them.

The road in the campground is narrow and a little bumpy, sometimes because of speed bumps. The lots at the back seemed smaller, there were several where we wouldn't be able to park our truck, but I think our 5er would fit in most of them. There is no privacy at any site, unless no one is here. Today, the park is completely full, but at least one site was being held with a screen enclosure and a truck belonging to the site across from us, for 1.5 days.

My husband is a senior and we paid $25/night, the sign said $20/night for seniors. He questioned the lady checking us in and she said we were getting the senior rate. For various reasons, we decided to leave a day early. We were told that we wouldn't get our money back, and that was fine. Our neighbors wanted the site for his father-in-law and offered to pay for the night we already paid for. They come here often and when he paid us he gave us $20. I have the feeling we were taken by the nice lady in the office.

The location is great, very convenient to historic Florence and it restaurants. Drive a bit further and there are numerous big box stores and chain restaurants.

2016 - Be aware that the bridge closest to the park restricts trucks and RV's at the moment. Construction has lane width limited to 10' and RV's are directed to the new bridge to the east.

This review is for Cave-In-Rock State Park.

This is a beautiful, but fairly remote, campground. We were traveling with friends and chose the first two sites after the camp host (which was empty), up on the hill. It was starting to rain, so we thought it might be a dryer location. The sites have 30 amp and water and we had trouble with the electric at our site, shortly after setting up. The ranger tried some things and we finally talked him into replacing the breaker, which seemed to solve the problem, but we didn't push it. We were offered the host site, which has sewer as well, but we were already setup and it was cold and rainy, so we stayed and were careful what we had turned on. The cave is interesting and worth a visit, the restaurant on site was really good, I recommend it. The ferry across the river is fascinating to watch and we took it to Kentucky and drove to the Amish area on that side. There wasn't a lot to do in the park, but it really is pretty. One warning, if it rains the mud is super slippery. The pads are asphalt, but fairly narrow, so our steps went onto the grass/mud and we had to be cautious getting to the steps. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

We had some difficulty getting to this campground, google maps had the entrance at the intersection of 664 and 374, my Garmin had it down a dirt road off of 374. We got to the intersection, with many cars behind us, saw a campground sign and turned onto 374. Don't do this! The roads all leading to the park are narrow and winding with no way for a rig our size to turn around. We were committed, glad that we had the Garmin, because no cell phone signal (AT&T or Verizon), made reroute get on my iPhone impossible. So, we drove in a loop, fairly confident the entrance would be just before we reached were we shouldn't have turned. Ends up, we weren't the only ones who had difficulty finding the campground, both of our neighbors had similar issues. The only sign for the campground is right in front of the entrance.

The checkin is a drive up window, no need to go inside. From there, the road leading up to the campground is narrow and curvy, not a problem as long as there is no one coming the other way. To back into our site, we had to go completely to the end of the road and loop back to be facing the correct direction. The paved pad looked small, but we could hang off the back and still have room for our truck in front.

The campground has a variety of hookups, our entire row was 50 amp and full, some are electric only. Most sites back up to the woods, with only a handful being between two roads. Most sites have enough room between them to spread out, but there is no privacy. There are bathhouses, latrines, laundry and a pool, which closed and was drained after Labor Day. Our site, number 30, backed up to the waste treatment facility and it ran 24/7. Kind of took away from the quiet of the park. The firepits where lifted quite a ways off the ground and the sides were tall, making it difficult to see the fire as you sat beside it and the coals could roll our from underneath the pit. Seemed strange, and somewhat dangerous to us, but we saw the same setup at another Ohio state park. We decided, after the first night, that it was a waste to use firewood when you couldn't see the fire.

Our AT&T phones worked fairly well at the campsite, but once we left the campground area they were worthless until we got into town. Our Verizon mifi didn't work outside of the park, unless close to one of the small country stores.

This is a great location to visit all the interesting features of Hocking Hills SP and the surrounding areas. Water levels were extremely low while we were there and little to no water flowed on the waterfalls in the area.

One big complaint, people seemed to speed through the campground, even when towing.

I don't know what else is in the area, so I'm not sure I would stay again. If I did, I'd make sure I was away from the waste processing facility.

We stayed in the Quartzite campground, mostly because we read that it was more accessible for big rigs. We had a reservation and followed Google Maps to the park. The drive in was a little unnerving, lots of trees and very few signs to reassure you that are went the right way. But, we did and pulled in to the parking area for camper registration. It was 2pm on a Sunday (father's day) and while we expected the park to be busy we thought most people would be leaving, not arriving. It was packed and the line in the building to check in wound around the small space. Even so, the check in process was fairly quick and painless.

To get to Quartzite campground you actually leave the park briefly, but even with a big rig is wasn't bad. Our site, #99 was a bit of a challenge. Most of the sites have gravel that has been overgrown with grass. Ours had a slope on either side of the narrow pad, so getting as close to centered was important. We did the best we could, but had difficulty leveling and ended up tilted downhill on the door side. We have an additional step we use and even with that we had a large step down since the entire site slanted down from the pad. Many of the sites have this same problem, but there are some a little flatter. Some others slant up or down along the pad, which would make leveling difficult as well.

The campground is very open, but you aren't right next to people and some trees are scattered around. The 50 amp hookup worked without any issues. There are a couple composting toilets, as well as a main bath house. The showers were ok for a state park, but we didn't use them. There are water fountains and faucets in a few places, but you'll need a container to use them.

The park itself is huge and we didn't come close to exploring it all, I suspect this is the biggest attraction at the campground. They say they are completely full every weekend, so plan in advance or arrive very early on Friday morning.

We had no AT&T signal, but our Verizon had 2 bars and LTE without our booster. I will note that even in Baraboo there was little to no AT&T signal.

I would stay here again if I wanted to visit the park, but I would be more particular about our site.

This was our second Georgia State Park, so we were familiar with the process, you reserve a site by size and/or hookups and you can choose an empty one, meeting those requirements, after you check in. Check in was easy and the clerk gave us an overview of which sites would be appropriate for our rig. We have a 38' fifth wheel and were hoping for a 40'+ site with 50 amps. We started by driving thru the lakefront sites, but the site we wanted was taken, so we decided to head towards the other loop that she said had more sites that would suit us. This is a large campground, with multiple loops, some inside of others. The roads throughout the campground are narrow, single lane, with washouts on both sides in many places and trees sometimes in places that make it difficult for a larger rig to get through. That said, we made it out of this loop and headed to the next one. Georgia had seen about a solid week of rain before we arrived at FDR and many of the sites had flooded areas, so that limited our choices as well. We eventually found a site that we could back into and we started hooking up. The site was not very level and our leveling system balked a little, but we got it figured out. The site we chose was a 30 amp site, with two 30 amp hookups. The first we tried didn't work, so we hooked up to the second one, which worked until out AC kicked in, when it popped it's breaker. We reset it, but it was very hot, so we contacted the park and they sent someone over, who ultimately replaced both. So, all was well. There are no sewer hookups, but there are gray water dump areas throughout the campground, although most didn't seem convenient to any particular sites. The electric and water hookups were convenient to each campsite.

When we don't have sewer hookups, we use the bath house and, although they are fairly old, they were clean. There was no washer/dryer, but we were ok with that. The park is huge and there are lots of hiking trails and the drive through the center of the park was beautiful. We drove to Warm Springs and visited the Little White House one day and Callaway Gardens another. The closest town is Pine Mountain and there are a couple of restaurants, a liquor store (pretty pricey), grocery and hardware store, so if you need something there are places for that.

After driving around, minus the fifth wheel, we found many other sites that we would be happy in, especially once the water level went down. We enjoyed our stay and would consider returning in the future.

We decided to stay here because it was close to relatives in Ripley, and honestly, nothing else is. The park is fairly remote, but quite pretty. The road leading up to the campground is newly paved, but narrow and with severe drop offs (cement drainage ditch). It was pretty frightening, we didn't meet anyone going the other way, but our friends did. The campground has been renovated recently and has water and electricity at every site, but there are only 6 RV sites.

The bathrooms were limited, considering the potential number of people who might want to use them. Each loop has a bathhouse, but it is one toilet for each and the shower is in the same room. So, if someone is showering, they most likely will lock the door and that means no one else can use the toilet. They are brand new and quite clean, so that was good. My husband used the shower, on a Monday when no one else was around, and commented that there were no hooks to hang your towel/clothes on.

There is no gate and you sometimes get random people driving through, checking out the campground. There are a lot of tent sites, some really nice, so I suspect it can get busy on weekends. We were probably early in the season for most people and didn't have that many tenters the weekend we were there.

The loop where the RV sites are is a little tight, but nothing we couldn't handle towing our 38' 5er. The worst part was the left turn exiting the campground, with the ditch on the left. We made it with room to spare, but it was a little nerve wrecking.

The museum is very nice and I can recommend the video, it is quite informative. we didn't have time to walk to the fort ruins, but our friends did and enjoyed it.

We would stay here again. The park is beautiful, mostly quiet (you can sometimes hear a barge on the river) and I loved all the birds chirping in the morning.

We chose this park to test out our solar system and really liked it. The lake was completely dry, but the campground is quite pretty. There are very few trees, so not much shade or privacy, but we selected a spot that had a nice view and didn't directly face a neighbor.

There are no hookups here, so come prepared. Access to the park is easy, even for bigger rigs. The first loop seems a little newer and more suitable for larger rigs. The bathrooms and showers are clean and private. You are far from a major highway, so it's pretty quiet at night. Our only complaint was that the winds blew so hard the entire time we were there that we couldn't sit outside for long. The winds died down the day we left. I guess the area is known for their wind, so just be aware.

We had a very strong AT&T LTE signal, I didn't try Verizon.

We really enjoyed this park and hope to return when we can enjoy being outside.

When we arrived, we checked in and walked over to check out our site, which had a popup in it. So, we returned to the office and they attempted to contact the owner and got voice mail. They found us a site to park our fifth wheel in, with electric so we could run our AC for our cat, and we unhooked and headed into town for lunch. By the time we were done, our site was available, so we headed back to get settled in. The sites are fairly close together and there are very few trees for privacy or shade. We didn't manage to score a waterfront spot, but we weren't that far and could glimpse the freighters from our window.

Our site had 50 amp and water, but some are 30. Most appear to be fairly level, but the pad aren't always clearly defined. We couldn't use our firepit, since we were almost on top of it, but others had placement that was better. Big rigs work well here, but some spots are more friendly that others.

We managed to connect to the wifi, but it wasn't worth using at our site. We had 2 bars and LTE with AT&T, so I was happy. Nothing overhead, so our Dish satelite worked great. The showers were nice and restrooms clean, we didn't look at the laundry room, but they have one. There is a playground for kids in the center of one of the loops, swings and a slide, nothing fancy.

We enjoyed the town, lots of souvenir shops and a few good places to eat. The locks are the highlight of town and we watched a 1000' freighter go through, pretty cool.

I wouldn't consider this an amazing park, but the location is great and it's got a nice view. If you want privacy and trees or activities and a pool, you won't get it here. But, I don't think you'll find that anywhere close to here.
