With the size of our rig, we never thought we would stay in a National Park, but we managed to get a site here. We drove down from Yellowstone to check out our options, and were told by a ranger that we should have no problem after Labor Day. We arrived two days after Labor Day and managed to get a spot, but we certainly didn’t have as many choices as we had hoped for. For whatever reason, the crowds didn’t dwindle and the campground was full the Saturday after Labor Day.

The sites aren’t ideal, our loop was mostly pull throughs right alongside the road, but we managed to fit. Most bigger rigs sit very close to the road, which can be a little nerve racking, but it worked out fine. The living space, for most of the sites, is highly wooded and quite large. We really liked our site and joked about how far a walk it was to the fire pit. This is bear country, and each site has a large bear proof box to keep food, garbage and grills safe.

You check in at the gate, which went fairly smoothly even with three campers in front of us. They assign you a spot, and were very accommodating of us, giving us two options to chose from. The sites are gravel and ours was mostly level. The were no hookups at all in our loop, only the second time we have tried this, but we liked it so much here we extended our stay from 3 to 6 nights. There are electric only sites, but they weren’t even recommended to us, I assume because of our size. They were also pricey, I think they are $58/night and $36/night with a senior pass.

We have a solar system, but the trees interfered and we had to supplement with the generator, a lot. We did get some afternoon sun, which helped, but very little direct sun. Generator hours are 8am to 8pm, which seemed to work out. The trees also prevented any hope of satellite and we had no AT&T or Verizon signal. Our AT&T hotspot with a booster would occasionally get a strong enough signal to update mail, but was unreliable so we just turned it off. There is WiFi in the village, which usually worked well. We were really roughing it! (-:

The bathrooms in our loop were older, but clean. The showers are located with the laundry in the Colter Bay Village. Not overly convenient, we drove when we needed to go to the village. The laundry area is big and at $2 to wash and dry, not the highest price I’ve seen. There are two sets of loops, with the second one being for the bigger rigs, at there is a dump station at the entrance to the second set of loops. There are two dump stations on the way out. The grocery in the village is well stocked for a campground grocery, even if the prices are a bit high. The cafe was closed for the season, but the restaurant was open and the food was good.

Overall, we liked the campground and would consider staying here again.

I was very hesitant to stay here, but the Cleveland Oktoberfest was over Labor Day weekend and my husband thought it would be convenient to stay and attend the festival. I was worried the camping area would be easily visible to all festival attendees, but it was out of sight enough that we had difficulty finding it and we had to ask. It's a camping area at a fairground, so expectations were low. It's certainly not much to speak of, and some sights are better than others, but we managed to find one that we could live with. Not all sites have water and sewer, but electric is readily available, so we only had a handful of sites to choose from.

There are no amenities and it's first come, first served. The spots are grass and there aren't any clear lines between sites, but it was fairly level. We had good luck with the electric (50 amp), water and sewer, although they aren't located in the best place, so connecting can be a challenge.

We contacted the office ahead of time, and had to call again to locate where it was to pay. I don't think it's mandatory to contact them ahead of time, but they are only in the office M,W,F.

We felt safe and even though the festival ran until midnight, there wasn't much noise after midnight, and it was quiet before the festival. With all the first album activity, it got very dusty, but wasn't bad before the festival. It was super convenient to be able to walk to and from the festival, and that was a big plus. It's also one of the closest places to stay if you want to visit Clevleand and don't need a pool, playground, etc. At $30/night it's far from a deal, but the location is its selling point.

It's good for what it is, but it's parking at the fairgrounds. I would consider it if we needed to visit Cleveland again, but I wish there was somewhere better.

This is a former Outdoor World Resort that is now Thousand Trails. The sites are gravel with grass with plenty of space between sites. We had a 50 amp, FHU site and had no problems with any of the hookups. Our checkin was quick and easy, we were told there were two sites that fit our needs, and we went off to decide which we liked. Both sites were at the back of the park, across from the seasonal sites that back up to a corn field.

Many of the buildings look old and in need of attention. This is a working farm and you can buy some of the fresh produce in the office/store. There are animals roaming around, mostly near the office, and some are fenced in. The mini golf looks quite worn, but some kids appeared to be enjoying it. There is a playground and volleyball court, surrounded by a lot of open space. I would think this is a great place for kids.

Getting here was a little complicated, and stressful, as they are working on a bridge and the road was closed. Getting out was a lot easier with the knowledge of a bridge out.

We stayed near the end of the season, but the park filled up on the weekend with lots of kids running around. That said, we didn't have problems with kids running through our site and the noise subsided even before quiet time.

AT&T signal was mostly non existent, our Verizon MIFI had 1-2 bars and LTE, but worked fine with our booster.

Although it is a bit remote, it was a nice park and the location was 30 minutes from Gettysburg, which wasn't too bad. We had lunch in nearby East Berlin, Rocco's Pizza, and I can recommend it. I would consider staying here again if I was in the area.

Check in process was easy, even with Covid and we were escorted to our site. We had a pull thru and had room to unhook our car at the site. The pool was closed, due to the virus and we didn’t use the facilities. But the staff was friendly and gave us site options for a return stay we had planned.

The campground is hilly, but not too many tight turns. Some loops looked easier to navigate than others. Most sites are tiered and provide some distance between rigs. Nice fire pit at each site. We are looking forward to a return, and longer, visit.

When we arrived, we weren't sure what to do. There were no signs indicating where we should park or where to go to register. We just pulled close to the grass and walked up to the building that ended up is the restaurant. The road loops around in front of the restaurant, but there were enough vehicles that we didn't think we would make it through.

So, the restaurant/bar is where you register, which may or may not take a little while, depending on how many people are at the bar. The bartender was super friendly and after we registered, we stayed for a beer since it was raining and a bit of a walk back to our rig. Our site was not designated a pull thru, but that's what we did. The site is grassy and fairly level, if you plan properly, there wasn't a clearly defined pad. There are very few trees around the sites, but that gave us good satellite reception. We had a firepit and picnic table, but the wind and rain kept us from using them. Our site was 30amp, full hookup, at $25/night it was a great deal. We had a good signal signal for phone calls on our AT&T phones and our Verizon mifi worked extremely well.

The sites were spread out, but there was very little privacy. The bath house appeared clean and there is also laundry available, but we didn't use them. The park is located on a lake with a nice beach area and docks if you have a boat. There is also a miniature golf course that had recently been repaired in spots. The new owners are putting money into the facility, so I expect it to improve over time.

We enjoyed having a restaurant and bar that we could walk to and the food was excellent. Everyone we met, including the owners, were very friendly and made us feel at home. The restaurant is a very popular stop for ATVer's and snowmobiler's, in the winter. The town of Minocqua is about 30 minutes away and has some really cute shops and restaurants and most everything you'll need. The casino in Lac Du Flambeau is worth a visit and there is a grocery store and gas station in Park Falls.

We left and returned the same day, due to flooding and washed out roads in the direction we were going. Upon returning, we fortunately found the owners to let them know of our return. It was a Tuesday and the restaurant is closed, so we weren't sure if we would find anyone to notify of our return. They let us know our site was available until Friday and we could pay for our site the next day when the restaurant opened. Once we researched our options, we decided to leave the next day, unfortunately before the restaurant opened. They had a key drop for the cabins and we managed to put an envelope with the money for our night in it and sent them an email. They very nicely emailed back with a thank you.

Looking for a campground near Cleveland wasn't very easy, but we found Maple Lake. It's not very close, but it's not a bad drive into the city.

The campground is pretty easy to find and the road to the entrance is easy, even with a big rig. There is a gate and you have to contact the office via the call box so they can open the gate. Check-in at the office was easy and fast, directions to our site were straight forward. Our site felt a little small at first glance, partly because the pad was just wide enough for an RV, but we had a lot of room behind the RV that made it feel more spacious. The area we were in had few trees and lots of nice grass, but we had a tree at the front of our site.

We had a little problem with our satellite and the tree, when the wind blew it would lose HD and switch to SD and sometimes lose the signal all together. Our neighbor suggested flagging down the maintenance guy in the truck, who just happened to be driving by. He came back right away with a saw and cut back quite a few branches, and that helped, but he returned later with a bucket to cut back even more branches. We were impressed with the rapid response.

Our site was back in, as were most, but there were a few pull thru's, it's very big rig accessible. We had a firepit and picnic table at our site, the firewood at the office/store was reasonably priced. The pool looked inviting, but we didn't go in. We had a good AT&T signal on our phones, but we didn't try Verizon.

I haven't been to a park where pets weren't allowed, and they are at this one, but only at your own site. You are not supposed to walk your dog around the campground. I guess people weren't picking up after their pets, so they banned them anywhere other than your own site.

The park was fairly quiet, with a little road noise at night. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

We stayed here for a few nights while visiting Santa Fe, NM. We lucked out and got a pretty nice site, I think there used to be a park model on it. It backed up to a nicely landscaped grass and tree area. Some of the other spots were pretty tight and I’m not sure we could have fit in most of them.

We had no issues with check in or the utilities. We didn’t use the bathhouse, but I used the laundry facilities and I had no issues with them.

The location was great for visiting Santa Fe, which is just what we were looking for. I would definitely stay here again if I’m in the area.

This is a great, family friendly campground. Check in was easy and they led the way to our site, which was nice since we drove quite a ways and I probably would have taken a wrong turn somewhere. We had a huge pull through site, with lots of room for our rig and truck. Our site was 50 amp, full hookup, but not all sites have sewer.

We were there the weekend after the 4th of July and into the next week. The weekend was super busy and it was fun to watch all the people out playing games. We’re not kid people, but they didn’t bother us, even though we were very close to the play areas, and no one ever walked through our campsite. The evenings were busy with people having fun, but by quiet time everyone was inside. The owners said we don’t have to be in at quiet time, just quiet, which was nice.

The park wasn’t as busy during the week, but there was still a steady flow of campers in and out. Our site was fairly roomy, but the lake sites were a little tight, but they are staggered so that every one has a nice view.

There is a nice store, with logo clothes, toys and some camping basics. They close each day, except Friday, from 5:30-6:30 for dinner and open a little late on Sunday. The couple that owns the park are super nice and put a lot of work into it.

There is a huge playground, corn hole, shuffle board, volleyball nets and a funky basketball game (see photos), as well as a pool and the lake. No shortage of things to keep the kids occupied.

We had good AT&T coverage, but no satellite because of the trees. Utilities worked great while we were there, but we never used the WiFi. My only compliant is the water had a slight well water taste, so I bought some bottled water.

There is a nature trail, but the mosquitoes attacked us upon entering it. That said, we had no problems with mosquitoes at our campsite and we were outside every night.

There is a pet washing station, as well as a dish washing station. We didn’t use the bathhouse, but it was clean.

We spent a week here and hated to leave! This is really a great campground and very well run.

This campground is on Chetcamp Island and give good access to explore the western side of the Cabot Trail. We have been traveling with a couple in a Class A, so we were assigned sites side by side. They pulled in the opposite direction, giving us a shared living space, which was nice. In general, the sites are big enough for our rig, slides and awning out, but they still are a little tight and have no privacy. The roads were a little tight for our big rig, but we made it in and out with no issues.

Our site was mostly grass, although rather brown, and we had a lot of cigarette butts on the ground between our rigs. The cigarette butts looked like they had been there a while, we cleaned up as many as we could, along with some other small bits of garbage. This was probably the worst thing about our site. I found it funny that they cleaned out the fire pit in the morning, but left all the trash on the site.

We didn't use the restrooms, so I can't say whether they were clean. There is a trail to the beach, which was a nice walk and the beach was really nice. We didn't have any issues with the hookups and it was quiet, since you aren't near any major roads.

The wifi is only available at the office, so we didn't use it.

The location of this park is great, for what we were doing, and the issues weren't that bad, so we would stay again if in the area.

There isn’t much to chose from that is close to Chattanooga, but this park was comfortable and very convenient.

The checkin was very easy and they led us to our spot. The spots are tight, but not any worse than a KOA, and we had grass and trees at our site. The trees prevented us from using our roof satellite, but our portable worked. Many other sites had no problems with their satellite.

They have a small campstore and sell firewood, they also have a pool and workout room. We didn’t use the facilities, so I can’t say how they were, but the pool looked nice.

They are very convenient to Ruby Falls, Lookout Mountain, etc. and downtown Chattanooga.

We were very comfortable here and would definitely stay here again if in the area.
