I was anxious about this campground due to some of the reviews I read, and it ends up my concerns were justified. First, my error, we missed the turn down to the campground, fortunately there is a marina with a large parking lot at the top of the hill, which allowed us to turn around.

At the gate check in was easy, but we received some bad information about where to turn and ended up turning early, causing us to have to back out of a tight turn with a huge drop off on one side, and a big drop off on the other.

The camping loop has a couple of tight, but doable, turns and some pretty severe drop offs. Our biggest problem was that there are some short, steep sections of the road. We drug the back end of the RV a couple of times and couldn’t back into our original site because the rear end hit ground before we even got close to the site. There was no way we could get it.

The camp hosts at the gate gave us a couple other options, we chose One and eventually managed to get our rig into it. It was far from ideal, with a huge picnic table that couldn’t be moved and a fire pit with no room to sit around. But, we were there and settled in for a long weekend stay.

There are some very good RV spots, but there are quite a few that are crammed in tight. The main loops, near the boat ramp and swimming area, are pretty cramped. The water front sights are strange, being back to back, with one side only good unless you pull through before the other guy gets there, or you are a motor home that can pull forward into the spot.

The main bathhouse was old, but clean. If you are down at the waterfront sites it’s an uphill walk to the bathhouse and laundry. Being from Florida, I would probably drive.

This is a popular spot on weekends, and can be quite busy, both in the day use area and the campground.

AT&T coverage was spotty in the park, but usable with our booster.

We wouldn’t return, we just weren’t comfortable with the size of our rig and the tight, tiered, spots and we really didn’t have any living space once we were there. If you know the park, you can select a site to fit your rig, and if you aren’t a 39’ 5er with a full size pickup, you will probably be much more successful than we were. Even with a smaller rig, the main camping area was too cramped for us.

As with all Georgia state parks, you select your spot after you arrive. The campground has a road that splits the campground in half and then two loops, left and right, off of that. The left loop is more open than the right loop, so chose accordingly. We chose the last spot on the right side of the middle road. The spots are mostly large, with room between them, but not necessarily providing a lot of privacy. We liked our spot, we had lots of room to spread, with trees around us. We didn't use the restrooms, but we had 30 amp and water at our site. Most of the sites appeared to have water, even though ReserveAmerica doesn't show that.

There are a lot of tall trees that can block your satellite, but we managed to get our portable satellite to work.

The park is quite large, so you have lots of hiking and biking opportunities, unfortunately I crashed my bike early on and didn't get a chance to see all the park had to offer.

If you want to go to Cumberland Island, reserve early. There were no spots on the tour or the ferry for the days we were there. We liked the park and are planning a return trip to try to see all that we missed out on.

I was a little worried about fitting in at the Amelia River campground, since our rig is 1' shorter than the site length, but you never know. When we arrived, there was a sign cautioning about low trees, we are also tall, so another concern to add to my list. The ranger was nice and let us know that we shouldn't have any problems, just move to the center when you see low trees. That worked for us and we made our way down the long road to the river campground.

Backing our 5ver into our spot was another challenge, we had no cell coverage, so communication was difficult and there were lots of trees to worry about. A couple across from us helped out by moving their trucks and assisting in the communications, and we managed to angle in with enough room. The spots are sand, and ours appeared softer than some others, the truck dug a couple of holes with the back tires. The site was also angled down, but we didn't have trouble getting the trailer off of the hitch.

After walking around the campground we saw several sites that we could fit in that we're better suited for our rig. Not all the sites were the softer dirt that we had, most appeared to be harder surfaces with more of a white sand.

All that aside, the campground is quite nice and even has its own beach, although you can't swim there. The bathrooms at the river campground were really nice and were air conditioned. There were two washer/dyers, but one of the washers wasn't working. Our hookups worked fine, but the dump station at the river campground is accessed on the way in. We were just happy to get our rig out and didn't want to drive through again, so we drove over to the beach side campground on our way out and the access to the dump station there was much easier.

The beachside camp is much more open with little to no shade, but you are right at the beach. The bathrooms were very clean, but not air conditioned. The dump station was much easier access for our larger rig.

The park has lots of hiking and off road biking trails and you can bike along the roadways. The fort is a must visit, but is a small additional fee. The gift shop has a small restaurant that serves burgers and such and there is a museum next to it that covers much of the history of the fort and what it was like to live there.

We loved the park and the surrounding areas and would consider staying here again if we were in the area.

I was worried because our rig is not only long but tall, but we had no problem getting into our site. The road into the park is a little tight, but just take it slow. Most of the sites are fairly private with lots of trees above and around. Our site was nice and level.

Satellite was a no go for us, but our Verizon and Att Phones and hotspots worked just fine. We didn’t use the bathhouses, so I can’t say what they are like. The park was quiet and had some very nice tent sites that were off of the road.

The park is about 15 minutes from the nearest Publix. The town of Micanopy is cute and worth a visit. The Cuban at Old Florida Cafe was excellent and we enjoyed dinner, drinks and live music at The Depot.

We didn’t see any bison, but we did see some horses and cattle. We are hoping to return and spend more time here.

We were concerned about being able to fit and called the night before and were told that 42' RV's (we're 38') have been there, so we were ok. When we arrived the ranger was concerned that our rv wouldn't fit, so now we were concerned again. Ended up, we had no problem getting into our spot and there were several spots we would have been comfortable in. The road to the campground was tighter than the campground road, so no need to worry once you arrive at the campground.

The sites are hard packed dirt, with lots of space between them and lots of trees overhead, no satellite reception here. Our site was pretty muddy (not the kind you get stuck in, just the kind you track around), since they there had been a lot of rain recently and the mosquitos were pretty bad because of the moisture. Our site was relatively level, but many others weren't.

The park itself is quite nice with lots of hiking trails and the lake for swimming and fishing. We enjoyed exploring the park, but were limited in what we wanted to do because of rain and bugs. Still, it's a nice park and campground and I would return, if in the area.

This is a very nice, smaller campground with varied sites. There are 50amp full hookups down to 30amp electric only. There are several water faucets within the camping loop, if needed. The campground is a single loop, very easy to navigate, with a hill in the center. There is a separate park, down the road, with picnic areas and disc golf. This entrance is only the campground. All sites are back-in with no other sites behind them. There isn't a lot of foliage between sites and they aren't very private, but some are fairly large and comfortable. The hill in the center is where the bathhouse and ice is and there is a driveway and handicapped parking spot if needed. There is also a large pavilion and play set for the kids near the bathhouse. The other side of the bathhouse has a grassy area with a disc golf putting area.

The sites are gravel with dirt and some grass, a fire ring and picnic table. Ours was fairly easy to back into and had some shade. The trees surrounding us prevented any satellite reception, but we had quite a few OTA stations in HD. Our AT&T phones had good enough reception for browsing the Internet.

The sites range from fairly small, tent only types to large enough for our fifth wheel and truck. There isn't much near here, although Ludington isn't that far of a drive. It's very quiet in the evenings and bugs can be a problem as the sun goes down. There is firewood for sale at camp host site and the site next to it had some fresh vegetables for sale as well.

We really enjoyed our stay and would consider staying here again.

Our rig: 38' 5th wheel, Chevy 3500 Crew cab w/8' bed
Date stayed: April 2015
Location: Adel, Ga

We stopped at Reed Bingham for a few nights heading north out of Florida. It was an easy drive from the highway, far enough away that you will get no traffic noise. Check in was easy and we had a premium site that was full hookup. You select your site when you arrive, so be aware if you are coming in on a weekend, it can be very busy. Our site was a nice pull thru, facing the woods. There are lots of trees around, but it doesn't really equate to a lot of privacy between spots.

The roads were nice and the sites are gravel and fairly level with lots of room between sites and for slide outs. We didn't use the comfort stations, but I looked and they were very clean. Firewood is available at the park, there is a separate building near the loops that sells firewood and mini golf tickets.

The park itself is fairly large, situated on a lake, and has several places for picnics and gatherings. On the opposite side of the lake from the campground is a swimming area and further up from there you can rent canoes and kayaks. The weather wasn't great when we were there, so we didn't make it onto the water. There are several hiking trails and geocaching is encouraged throughout all of the Georgia state parks and there were quite a few here.

There is a restaurant right at the park entrance and it is good. There are only a few restaurants in Adel and they have two grocery stores, the Piggly Wiggly has a well stocked Ace Hardware in it. I can also recommend The bistro at Horse Creek Winery.

Overall, it's a convenient stop for a night and a nice park to spend several nights.

We wanted to visit Quartzsite and boondock for a couple of days just to check it out, but weather forecast was clouds and rain. We use solar and wanted to avoid the mud, so we chose this RV Park instead.

Check in was a little slow, only one person and he escorted you to your sites if you wanted. He was very nice and accommodating, we were originally assigned a spot that would have interfered with our satellite, so he moved us.

This is a pretty typical Arizona park, gravel and not a lot of trees or other plants. The layout is a little unusual, but we didn’t feel overly crowded. There is only one restroom each for men and women, and they contain the shower. We use the bathroom in our rig, so this wasn’t a problem, but if you don’t be aware that you may not be able to get in when you want.

This park is obviously in the desert and water is an issue. They prohibit you from using the washer in your RV, I believe this is the first time I’ve seen that. They do have a pet and vehicle washing area for a fee.

If you want full hookups, this is a nice choice. The layout was a little strange, but overall it was a positive experience.

This is a small campground that has a lot of seasonal sites. The pads are gravel, with 50 amp FHU, and the sites are grassy. Very few trees and little to no privacy, but a nice community. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table, mother fire wood is a good deal at $5 for a wheelbarrow full. You are a little out of the way, but it is quiet. Bay City is a nice town with lots of restaurants. The farm stands closer to the campground are really great, I recommend them.

We had good AT&T coverage and no problem getting satellite reception. The wifi was down when we got there, but it was up and running the next day. It was, by far, the best wifi we have ever had in a campground! There were times it was slower than others, but it worked and sometimes, especially late at night, it was very fast.

If we were in the area, we would stay here again.

Our rig: 38' 5th wheel, Chevy 3500 Crew cab w/8' bed

This is a beautiful campground located in a nice county park that includes an arboretum that has a paved walking trail through it. The access to the campground was not direct, but fairly easy from the highway. The roads to the campground and in the campground were find and access to most of the spots is easy. The check in process is self serve, take an envelope, select your spot, fill out the envelope and put it and your fee in the slot. The spots are gravel and mostly level with nice grassy areas with a picnic table and a firepit. Hookups are electric and water, no sewer, with a dump station on the way out that was an easy pull through. There are lots of trees, although they don't provide much privacy, except towards the back where some of the smaller spots are. We had no difficulty finding a spot big enough for us, although there were some that we wouldn't fit in. We had no problem with our satellite, but it might be difficult towards the back.

I tend to like state parks with lots of privacy and tree cover, but this campground (the campground, not just the park) is so beautiful I wanted to stay much longer than the one night we had planned. I would recommend this campground for anyone wanting a quiet place to spend a few days
