Our first time here, but we love it. The camp host was very friendly and helpful. We were really blessed as we snagged a waterfront site for our 3 night stay. Discount prices for seniors! $20.00 per night. Great place for kids, playground and safe for riding bikes. It was quiet here and sooo peaceful watching the water and the gorgeous view! Fun to watch the boats riding by. Will definitely recommend!

We were here to explore Muscle Shoals and visit Helen Keller's childhood home. For some reason, the fact that we weren't a "real RV", we had to camp along the mud flats. "Real RV's" could camp facing the river. However, it was for a night and we could roll with this idiosyncrasy.

We paid for a site with electricity. The sites are paved and level. There is not much privacy/space between sites, but you can preview the available sites and make a selection that suits your needs. There weren't many campers in our section, so we had plenty of privacy. It turns out that we didn't mind the mud flats. There is a camp host on-site, that alternates between driving a golf cart and a police car to check out the large park.

The bath house was a bit rough and dreary, but provided warm showers. It was fairly quiet.

This park is now operated by the City of Florence. The City of Florence offers a small downtown to walk around with shops and restaurants. The park also offers several restaurants and a marina. There were a lot of locals who come to this park to fish and boat. There is a very pleasant walk along the river that you can take.

We read the reviews on rvparksreviews.com and thought this would be a good stop on our way North. We were very surprised when we arrived. The sites are paved and have full hookups, so that is good. The sites closest and furthest from the river are back ins and the middle ones are pull thru. Some are under trees, others are not, the trees are mostly tall pines, so don't offer any privacy but will block satellites. We opted for one not under the trees and selected a back in closest to the river, one of two available (I don't think any pull thrus were available). The pad is fairly wide, but there is a concrete picnic table on it, so it was tight for us, we were pretty close to the edge of the pad and we couldn't walk between the table and the slide. The pull thru's and the older back in's have a little more room with their tables off the RV pad on it's own pad.

When we were setting up a neighbor let us know that we should make sure our bicycles on the back of our RV were locked up, since people going to the fishing pier drive behind us at all hours. We had to be careful our bikes didn't stick out in the road, but we didn't have any problems with anyone messing with them.

The road in the campground is narrow and a little bumpy, sometimes because of speed bumps. The lots at the back seemed smaller, there were several where we wouldn't be able to park our truck, but I think our 5er would fit in most of them. There is no privacy at any site, unless no one is here. Today, the park is completely full, but at least one site was being held with a screen enclosure and a truck belonging to the site across from us, for 1.5 days.

My husband is a senior and we paid $25/night, the sign said $20/night for seniors. He questioned the lady checking us in and she said we were getting the senior rate. For various reasons, we decided to leave a day early. We were told that we wouldn't get our money back, and that was fine. Our neighbors wanted the site for his father-in-law and offered to pay for the night we already paid for. They come here often and when he paid us he gave us $20. I have the feeling we were taken by the nice lady in the office.

The location is great, very convenient to historic Florence and it restaurants. Drive a bit further and there are numerous big box stores and chain restaurants.

2016 - Be aware that the bridge closest to the park restricts trucks and RV's at the moment. Construction has lane width limited to 10' and RV's are directed to the new bridge to the east.

I called last week to try to get in but was told they were full and would stay full until after Memorial Day. Seems the place is very popular and stays full. First-come first-served only with 21-day limit during summer months.

Since the last reviews in 2016 things must have improved - big paved sites, all FHU, Tennessee River on one side, a small inlet on the other. The center row is pull-through. Seems like just about any size rig could fit in here.

It was busy and crowded but with lots of room to spread out. Many sites shaded by very tall pines. If you show up during the week, over 3 weeks before a holiday you might get lucky. $25 ($20 senior) for FHU on the water in a really interesting area, seems worth a try.

The place was great. Close to everything. Great view. The downside was the showers/restrooms were HORRIBLE. Dirty beyond description. Managed by the city and must have the worst parks director ever. (Take a little pride in your city) Outsource the management to professionals

We stayed at McFarland Park September 27 to October 4 of 2021 to enjoy a music festival that was happening in a different section of the park. This was our second time to stay here and we really wanted to get one of the sites that backs up to the tributary. By arriving early in the week we were able to score a nice site. Because the waterside sites are heavily shaded, it was tight getting our rig positioned, take your time and have good communication between driver and spotter.

McFarland Park is an excellent place to stay to explore the rich music scene of this area, as well as Helen Keller's birthplace.

We did not use the bathhouse as we have our own facilities onboard. The outside of the bathhouse looks pretty rough though.

We had good AT&T and T-Mobile. We do have a WeBoost but even before turning our booster on, the signal was pretty good.

The normal rate is $25 but we qualified for a senior discount making it $20 per night. This is for full hookups so that price is hard to beat!

Gr8 level sites on the Tennessee River with plenty of nice trees. Close to all of the area's main attractions: Muscle Shoals Sound Studios, W.C. Handy Museum, Helen Keller's birthplace (museum), a Frank Lloyd Wright house & the Fame recording studio. All have tours available. We ate at Champy's Famous Fried Chicken, which was gr8, especially the fried catfish!

Great campground. Spaced ok. Bathrooms need TLC. Laundry needs TLC. Management allows 20 day stays with 2 days out then another 20 days. The homeless are abusing the system. Good luck getting a spot during high season. It's first come, first serve. $20 seniors.

Overall decent county park but be aware the area is prone to flooding and this is a popular area for locals so it seems to stay pretty crowded. Sites are close together but have full hook ups with sewer for $25/night. The north side sites have a ton of pines and a tornado passing through several weeks prior had knocked one over on a camper so we stuck to the river side away from the trees.

Some Verizon coverage and most sites seem level enough.
