In Alabama's southwest hill country, Isaac Creek Campground on Claiborne Lake has great appeal to the sportsmen.

Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on January 04, 2021We stayed here in June while we were waiting for the sale on our house went through. We had 2 options for campsites: premium or standard. The premium sites were right on the river and we had the very first one. The standard sites are in the woods. Our site was in partial shade and it got pretty hot during the day. Great views though. Lots of bird watching. The showers were good and there is a laundry there as well. Electrical and water hookups with a dump station right on site. It is a long way off the main highway so stop in town and get what you need before heading out to the campground. We rode our bikes everyday and had a peaceful stay while here.

We were supposed to stay here back in November, but RV repairs caused us to cancel. My husband was very interested in staying here, so we took the opportunity on our way North. To say this is remote is an understatement, as others have said, it is out there! The campground is nice, with lots of tall trees that provide shade and block satellites, but don't give much privacy. One interesting thing, the campground loop is two lanes, so the inside pull thrus are very nice since they don't face the road.
When we hooked up we had problems with the 50amp, so we switched to 30amp. We informed the volunteer at the gate and he reported it, but didn't expect anyone to show up until the next day, which was fine. The next morning a nice man showed up and replaced the 50amp breaker in an absolute downpour! I didn't think anyone would even show with how bad the weather was, but he showed up and fixed our problem.
The restrooms were very clean, but the showers only have a single shower curtain, so they didn't feel too private. It's been quiet here, I never had anyone else in the bathhouse while I was showering, so it wasn't too bad. There is a laundry in the bathhouse, it always seemed to be in use as I walked by. There was one washer/dryer and it looked like it was $1.00 each.
If you don't boat/fish, there isn't much out here. The museum is closed until further notice, so we didn't get to visit. This is a great place to chill out and enjoy a good campfire, we bought $15 worth of wood from the country store 8 miles down the road.
We had no AT&T signal at the campsite, but we could get 2 bars and LTE by the museum. Our Verizon worked ok with our booster.

We enjoyed our stay. Nice campground. Nicely maintained. Every site is a concrete pad and dead level. Great place for bird watching. We saw an eagle outside of the campground but I am sure they are there. Also a good place for star gazing. I gave the location five stars because we like places off the beaten path. It is way of the path!
We have both Verizon and T-Mobile. We were shocked to get 5G on our T-Mobile at Home router.

Another great COE campground situated on the banks of the Alabama River and Isaac Creek. Would be perfect for you if you like to fish or kayak, otherwise not a whole lot to do but chill which is fine with me. Internet and phone service comes and goes, one bar on my at&t service. Overall a good quiet peaceful weekend.

Isaac Creek is a lovely quiet campground. We were on site #32 which was a great site…imo 32 and 33 are the best sites. Bathhouse was dated but spotless, hot showers with good pressure. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. There is a laundry which we didn’t use. We paid $26 per night.

We stayed two nights in mid-November. This is another great COE campground that is remote and well-maintained. The camp host was very helpful and called to check on us before we arrived. This is a great campground to just get away and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Was booked just for two nights and ended up staying four more. This is a lovely campsite. It’s a little bit out-of-the-way but well worth it. The bathhouse is older but very clean. There’s a convenient laundry room as well. I was told by a friend that connectivity isn’t very good here except in a few sites. I was in site 39 and although I only had two bars I was able to stream movies and TV shows. Connectivity really was quite good if not super strong. Melanie, the camp post, went out of her way to contact me before I arrived and had everything ready for me even though she would not be on site for a few days. Excellent service! I paid $13/nt with my senior pass.

Host was waiting for me at entrance, gave a great history of the campground
My site was along the River , views are really good.
Fog on the river each morning, heard eagle, but could see it, but it was close to my site along the bank.
